Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Account status incorrect

Consumer Complaint: Hello, Navient is reporting 11 months past due for student loan accounts. The months for past due are listed from XX/XX/XXXX thru XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX thru XX/XX/XXXX. However, I informed Navient of deferment requests multiple times. My first notification occurred in XX/XX/XXXX, requesting deferment due to economic hardship. Their company was notified and provided documentation of my financial situation. I have lived in poverty for my entire life. My income is typically {$12000.00} per year. My XXXX son prevents me from working full time. To resolve the problem, I have contacted Navient and provided proof of my economic hardships. As proof, a statement showing government aid for food stamps was provided from XX/XX/XXXX thru XX/XX/XXXX. I have been on government assistance for food most of my entire adult life. In addition, I have filed disputes with the credit bureau agencies but have not been successful.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: I have been getting collection calls from navient. They used to only hold my private loans but they are now saying they have two federal student loans they were collecting on. My complaint is that they collected on my federal loans without telling me they were the federal loans. I didn't even know navient had 2 of my federal loans. I know the options available and consumer protections in place for federal because I also have XXXX who manages my federal loans ( and do a good job ). With Navient In setting up payments, however, I was not told that the payments I was setting up were for my federal loans since I didn't know they owned those XXXX. Furthermore, the payments I set up, in the amount of XXXX every two weeks, with Navient.I was under the assumption were to be allocated across all of my private student loans. Upon calling in to reschedule a payment a customer service rep informed me the payments were only for my 2 federal student loans they owned and that they were set up incorrectly. They should only have been for XXXX. Every two weeks Because it was only for the 2 federal loans. Only I was told it was for all of my private loans and that they'd be garnishing my paycheck or taking my house next. So I set the payments up. Meanwhile I'm also getting collection calls from the other navient, navient collections ... which is why I complained to the previous mentioned agent in the first place it's like they were two different companies and I didn't know. They were both collecting but I thought they were one entity. Deceptive collecting and incorrect info given.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan

Consumer Complaint: To Whom it may : concern My name is XXXX XXXX, I live at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX, Illinonis XXXX, my SS # is XXXX, I was born XX/XX/XXXX. I am writing this letter to you today to ask you to completely eliminate my student loan from Navient based on bogus practices. Navient is facing a lawsuit for the following : that they harmed student loan borrowers throughout the repayment process, the CFPB alleges that since at least XX/XX/XXXX, Navient has : Misallocated payments Steered struggling borrowers toward multiple forbearances instead of income-driven repayment plans, and provided unclear information about how to re-enroll in income-driven repayment plans. Navient Plaintiffs regarding Navient lawsuit represented by XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX, XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX. As a result, the plaintiffs claim that teachers, nurses, first responders, social workers and other public servants are paying millions of dollars more than they otherwise should in student loan payments. https : XXXX -- XXXX XXXX all about it https : XXXX # XXXX I am a product of such practices. Because they have had me get several forbearanes, which caused the interest rate to skyrocket. I am XXXX dollars in debt maybe more with the interest rate. It is no way on Gods green earth I can repay this loan back, and I am now XXXX years old, not only that. The school that I went to is now closed down, because of their practices I was told that my diploma would be obsolete because they have lost their accreditation. Complaint regarding the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX According to the complaint, on XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX campuses lost their status as an accredited institutions, so if they are no longer an accredited institution that means that my diploma is obsolete, no good, I went to school for four years, and I worked hard, and then when I went to them to help me find a job they said I have been out of the industry, so therefore my skills were obsolete, how terrible, I was really upset over this, how can you tell me my skills are obsolete. Education should be free if you go to school and then later your skills become obsolete. They said they would help me find a job and they didnt very false, very misleading representation. There have been so many complaints against the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, so many students were done wrong by this institution. Therefore as a result of all this, I feel that my loan should be totally forgiven, I am close to {$90000.00} dollars in debt, I do not want to have such an astronomical debt hanging over my head, I feel my education was a total waste of time, and money that I did not get, and have nothing to show for it. Sincerely, XXXX XXXX

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: My student loans were in default. I entered into a payment plan with Pioneer Credit Recovery. I have been faithfully making monthly payments of {$33.00}. Now my loans are out of default. I received a letter from XXXX, the Student Loan Servicer with the Department of Education. XXXX says I owe {$33.00} a month and that I am behind by {$33.00}. Pioneer is still taking {$33.00} out of my checking account and is not forwarding the {$33.00} payment to XXXX. I would like Pioneer to forward the {$33.00} monthly payments that I have been making to them and give the money to XXXX. I spoke with XXXX at XXXX and was told that Pioneer did not send the {$33.00} monthly payments to XXXX. I can be reached at XXXX. XXXX says they have not been receiving my {$33.00} payments from Pioneer.

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments

Consumer Complaint: I have had student loans for over 20 years and they have been sold over and over to servicers. I dealt with Navient for many years, with much difficulty getting a clear concise answer. I was told and did apply for forbearance several times until i could no longer do it. I did go into default at one point. My loans were once again sold and now i am trying to pay via XXXX. I feel i would have been in a better position and not had a default on my record if i had better guidance. I am told that i should be able to be part of the current litigation against navient but i am not sure what to do next. Also, with the length of time i have been paying school loans am i not entitled to some sort of forgivness??

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Can't get other flexible options for repaying your loan

Consumer Complaint: I was orginally sold a loan at XXXX years old for school at {$6200.00}. About a year later i paid {$2000.00} on the loan. Everytime i called Navient they lied and told me forbearance was my best option when i couldn't afford payments. Never making me aware that my interest capitalizing would make my loan extremely higher and therefore making my payments even higher in the end. As of right now, i am trying to pay the loan in full and they refuse to work with me. Today i owe nearly {$8000.00} on the loan bringing the total to {$10000.00} on a 7 year student loan. It is just robbery and should be illegal what they do to new college students just trying to pay for schooling.

Issue: Dealing with your lender or servicer

Subissue: Trouble with how payments are being handled

Consumer Complaint: Navient is the loan company. Their payment structure doesn't seem legal. For instance I paid about {$4000.00} in a year to only pay about {$200.00} of the principal. It was automatic payments but then it just stopped. They didn't call and I realized after 3 months no payments were taken out. They accrued almost {$700.00} in interest within those missed months. The principal went up. Now in order for any payments to apply to the principal, that {$700.00} in interest has to be paid off 1st otherwise it carries over to the next month and then keeps accumulating. It doesn't seem fair as my family has been paying all this money for the loan to keep increasing. Last year I had it down to {$23000.00} but today it's over {$24000.00} and that's after paying the monthly + more if we have it. Many months I paid {$360.00} instead of the {$280.00} thinking it would help but NO. The monthly interest is more than the payment!

Issue: Struggling to repay your loan

Subissue: Problem lowering your monthly payments

Consumer Complaint: My interest rate is high ; therefore my balance increased from {$68000.00} to {$140000.00} through forbearances and deferments. The accounts are also duplicate on my credit report, showing loans belong to department of education, navient, and XXXX. The amounts are duplicate and negative on each account, lowering my credit score. Staff with Navient are aggressive and not willing to lower payments. I am a single mother that can not afford proposed payments. I am also concerned about the rate in which my balance increased.
