Consumer Complaint: My issue with Nationstar pertains to a 30 day late payment incurred on my mortgage for a missed payment for XXXX 2014. The late was caused by me being defrauded by a man named XXXX XXXX, posing as a licensed mortgage professional to refinance my home, who ended up stealing over {$4000.00} from me. He insisted that I not make my XXXX 2014 payment to Nationstar as the new loan at a 2.99 % 30 year fixed rate was going to close and funds would be on their way ( See Exhibit A ). When Nationstar alerted me that no XXXX payment had been received, I let him XXXX know that I was going to make the payment ; he insisted that he had later spoken to Nationstar and all had been resolved and a check was on its way to them. Finally when Nationstar called me again and told me no check was received and I was 30 days late, I quickly made the payment. At that time I became suspicious and started to investigate the matter to find that there was no such refi loan in process I then discovered the individual was a convicted felon who had a history of defrauding people and had his Real Estate license revoked and had a cease and desist order against him from the Dept of Real Estate ( See Exhibit B ) He defrauded me by getting all my bank information and in addition to charging me for loan fees for this non-existent loan, he ended up using my bank account funds fraudulently and ran {$4300.00} worth of fraudulent charges. The XXXX Attorney 's office has also confirmed that XXXX XXXX XXXX has defrauded another XXXX people, for which they XXXX office is taking legal action against him ( see exhibit C ). As the XXXX office also suggested I also filed a law suit against XXXX XXXX ( see Exhibit D ), for which he failed to show up. You can contact XXXX XXXX, XXXX. Investigator at the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Attorney XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX who can inform you of the legal action being taken against XXXX XXXX. ( Refer to exhibit C )

Consumer Complaint: I have a friend, who is on social security XXXX/retirement and receives her XXXX benefit on her XXXX XXXX XXXX ( there is no option offered as to the type of card -- see below website ) XXXXXXXXHer mortgage company is Nationstar and every month she has to make her mortgage payment using XXXX XXXX , which involves driving to the store and cost her {$13.00} ( soon to be {$16.00} ), because Nationstar Mtg does not accept XXXX debit cards, only XXXX. Is it legal to limit someone 's ability to pay their mortgage payment and only accept a XXXX cards? What bothers me is the people it effects -- our XXXX and XXXX who are on fixed incomes. I want to know if mortgage company 's are allowed to do this, how can they accept XXXX and not XXXX? That makes no sense to me and is not only causing a hardship for my friend physically and financially, it affects any other XXXX or retired people who are stuck with Nationstar as a mortgage company and receive their government benefits through XXXX XXXX. Can something be done?

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2015 I mailed a payment of {$2000.00} the payment was received and cashed on XXXX XXXX, 2015 ( apparently it was applied to the wrong account number ). When I called on XXXX XXXX, 2015 I was told that they had n't received my payment so I went ahead and wired {$4400.00} ( the amount that was past due according to whomever I spoke with ). I asked that they refund the {$2000.00} and they said that they could n't because they had n't received it. I called back again because I saw that payments had been made on my account through XXXX 2015. I told whomever I spoke with at the time that I wanted the {$2000.00} and I was told that they would refund the money. Since then I have called several times and requested to get my money reimbursed. Each time I call I am told that they are working on it and will reimburse the money. I have spent hours on the phone with Nationstar and I 'm tired of getting the run around. I want my money back!

Consumer Complaint: I am having issues with understanding my escrow statement from Nationstar. I am getting charged a USDA fee, which makes no sense to me. USDA loans from my understanding have the PMI paid up front. I called to get some clarification, but was hung up on the line after getting clarification. I just placed the call today at XXXX EST. Also the numbers do not add up on the bottom of the escrow statement. As soon as I start subtracting the numbers within the account history, they do not match. Hence this leads to confusion on getting actual numbers and why my payment got increased {$200.00} a month.

Consumer Complaint: I have received instructions from Nationstar that I have to place a property into XXXX so that it can go to auction. We already have a purchase contract on the property and have submitted it for review of a short sale to Nationstar. How does adding time to the short sale review process by placing the property in auction benefit the consumer. It potentially could make the current buyer walk and we are then at risk of not getting any other offers. Now the seller has suffered as he has no buyer.

Consumer Complaint: Hi, This is going to be difficult to explain so bear with me. Last year my brother became terminally ill. In an effort to try and find the moneys to go see my brother before he passed away I reached out to my mortgage company to see if I had any hardship plans to help me with the expense. I called them Nationstar Mortgage and told them the situation and wanted to know if I could miss XXXX payment to make the flight. The lady on the phone said yes they could waive XXXX month 's payment and I could pay it up by paying {$1000.00} amount for the next 5 month to catch it up, my normal mortgage is {$830.00}. I also asked her if that would impact my credit and she assured me that it would not and she would also set up my account so that I would not receive the automated phone calls about a missed payment. So for the first 2 months it was working well, no phone calls and I was paying {$1000.00} per month as opposed to my {$830.00}. Then all of the sudden I start getting automated calls. Then I got an alert on my credit reporting agency. So when I looked it up the mortgage company came up as XXXX month missed payment. I called Nationstar and asked them what they were doing and had to explain to them what the arrangement was. At first they had not record of that agreement. I asked for a Manager, and he was finally able to find the record of the agreement. He then informed me that the agreement I was told could happen was not allowed and she was not supposed to do that ''. So I told him ok but then what happened to the overages I paid towards my mortgage and how could they be showing me one month behind since I was not. Where did that money go? I told him based on the money I paid over the amount owed I should only owe you a couple of hundred not a fully month premium. He asked me to fax him my I was checking account statement that shows how much I have paid above the mortgage rate. So I have faxed it never heard back from them. As of today I have fax it and called them repeatedly and have yet to get anyone to investigate and fix this. On my last call which was last week I again re-iterated the story and told them the name of the last manager I spoke to and I gave her his name. In that conversation the lady said that XXXX was not a manager and she would report him for saying he was. Now I faxed the form again and she said they would get back to me in two days that was last week. How can a mortgage company be allowed to operate so unethically? What do I have to do to get this fixed? I have never missed a payment before since I purchase this house and this nightmare is never ending I need help can someone out there please help me. Please is there anything I can do to get this resolved they are ruining my credit and keeping in loss of my bother ever a nightmare that never ends. This company has no business operating as a mortgage company. They bought out my mortgage from the original mortgage company and when I look them up they are a collection agency. How can this be clearly they have no business buying out mortgages and operating as a mortgage company.

Consumer Complaint: I was doing fine until ... .. I have a 4.875 % and put in the application for a home mod thru Nationstar Mort Co. They told me I would have to go thru a FHA trial period for 4 months. They dropped my payment {$80.00}. After about 4 months they then told me I would be on a 4 % so that was bringing me down .875 %. I told them to cancel. I then made my regular payments. They sent me a check for {$300.00} and I called and was told that it was escrow money. I cashed it. About 3 weeks later I received a check for {$1700.00} and I told the wife that escrow must have been way over. so I cashed it. Now I am a month behind and they are charging me a late charge. I can not refinance or do anything until I make a double payment including late charges that are building up each month. I spent hours on the phone finally getting to the person that is capable of making decisions and they said they would call me with a decision. They did not call or respond in any way. If anyone has anything to do with Nationstar Mort Co. " Please beware ''

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX XXXX, 2014 we submitted all of our paperwork for a loan modification on our mortgage. We believed this to be the quickest and least costly solution to a foreclosure law suit that has drawn out for years. Our attorney prepared our documents and sent everything to our lender Nation Star in a timely manner. I was told by my attorney that it would take roughly 60 days for the banks to review the paperwork. It has since been 10 months since we submitted the documents and Nation Star has yet to confirm they have even received our packet. Our attorneys have sent several copies via certified mail with confirmation however our documents have yet to be reviewed. Because of the incompetence of Nation Star I have incurred thousands of extra dollars in attorney fees to continue this process. It was my understanding that a loan modification was the best way for both parties to come to an agreement on this drawn out case, however that has not been the case. I feel as though I have been taken advantage of because the banks have the money and power to continue dragging this out while my funds keep exhausting. My biggest fear is that Nation Star continues dragging this out and I will no longer have the ability to retain my attorney causing me to ultimately lose any chance I have to save my home. My case is now set for trial due to how many months the case has been stale with no progress.
