Issue: Cont'd attempts collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was discharged in bankruptcy
Consumer Complaint: I have enclosed documentation but briefly Nationstar Mortgage was servicing a non secured loan that was discharged in Bankruptcy Court in 2013. Approximately a year and a half later I began receiving " Informational '' statements from them that look exactly like invoices. I have attempted to have them stopped being sent and have been assured by their staff it would but they continue to send these. I would appreciate any assistance on your part to review and assist me with this matter.

Consumer Complaint: We have a complaint against Nationstar Mortgage. There was no willingness to work things out for us, in order to help us! We have tried so many times to modify with them, so we could keep our home, which we love, and have taken such good care of for over 18 years! They instead raised the price of our mortgage, instead of reducing it! They Never had intentions to help us homeowners! We know other banks who have helped other homeowners to modify and keep their homes, Nationstar is not one of those, they are not interested in helping others!

Consumer Complaint: My mortgage account was forcibly placed under " lender placed insurance '' for insurance laps. I was only aware of it when in XX/XX/XXXX, I called to pay for my monthly mortgage at {$280.00}. I was then told that the new amount I need to pay was {$600.00}. I was shocked and in disbelief on how a mortgage company can increase one 's monthly payment ( threefold ) without any notice. I disputed the new amount which is almost the triple amount of the initial monthly payment. In addition, I contacted my insurance company and provided a policy on the property, yet Nationstar would not consider making the necessary adjustments for a lower payments. I believe this practice is predatory and Natrionstar has not been transparent, communicative willing to work with me.

Consumer Complaint: I require your assistance if you can help, regarding my mortgage lender giving me the runaround in refunding and settling my escrow overage. I received an escrow overage refund check for {$460.00} XXXX XXXX 2015 from my mortgage company " Nationstar Mortgage ''. I misplaced it so it was never cashed, and when I found it ( XX/XX/2015 ) it was past the 180 days to cash it in. I contacted Nationstar on XXXX XXXX with the information and they stated they would reissue a new check, and that it would take four days to process and to allow 7-10 mailing days. After that time had lapsed and no check arrived, I contacted them again and they now said it was never sent, needing " verification of address '' which was given and verified over the phone and having been a customer for 14 years getting my statements sent to me every month they well know my address! I then requested it to be overnighted and they agreed and sent me a XXXX tracking number. Four days later it still was never dropped off with XXXX and when I called to ask why, Nationstar stated " It was cancelled because it sat there too long. '' Duh! Once again they said they would reissue the check, overnight, and gave me a tracking number and to expect it the following day. The following day it had never arrived at XXXX which I verified with the tracking number so yet again I called Nationstar and yet again got the run around. They canceled that alleged check and once again gave me a tracking number for expedited overnight delivery with XXXX. You can guess what happened, it never was delivered to XXXX. So like a dummy I called Nationstar again and again I was given a new tracking number and promised overnight delivery. It has not been received by XXXX via the tracking number nor will it. Four times in the past month ( Once alleged by mail and three times alleged by overnight XXXX ) I have been told my check would be reissued and four times nothing has been done about it save for printing XXXX labels and nothing else. It 's apparent to me that Nationstar has no interest in refunding what is legally mine and just wants me to stop trying to keep my money. I paid off my mortgage early this XXXX 2015 so perhaps that I am no longer a cash cow they have little interest in giving me what they owe me. I never was late or missed a single payment in fourteen years with Nationstar Mortgage either. Is there anything you can do to act on my behalf? This is very upsetting. Supervisors do not return my calls, and agents who promise to rectify it never do. Not once have I treated them with rudeness or bad language and have been as understanding as possible. However, I now understand that they have no intention of refunding my money ; four attempts in one month with nothing happening is an untenable situation and egregious. I can provide specific information as requested. Please contact me and please let me know if you are able to intervene on my behalf, I would be very grateful. XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: NationStar is playing the victim instead of actually reviewed my account. They were then and even now. I received a letter from them in the mail on XXXX XXXX, 2015. The letter is dated XXXX XXXX, 2015. My question is, how long did it sit on someone 's desk before actually being placed in the mail to be sent to me. In my opinion, seems as though they know these type of issues are time sensitive, so they hold it as long as they can, so by the time it makes it to the customers it 's already to late. With that being said they said in the letter, that their goal is to provide a response no later than XXXX XXXX, 2015. In my opinion, they only sent this letter because they were contacted by you all at Consumer Financial Protection and Nationstar is just trying to make themselves look good. They know that they are a bunch of crooks, preying on the low-income family member. Not fair, not fair at all. I hope that someone could really review my case and take care of this. I was cheated and they know it.

Consumer Complaint: The Homestead Lien Contract and Deed of Trust dated XXXX XXXX, 2005 on our XXXX acres and home was misfiled as a " Homestead Lien Contract and Deed of Trust '' and should have been a simple Deed of Trust securing the Note - not creating a home equity loan. We relied on the knowledge and expertise of XXXX XXXX XXXX in Texas Mortgage Law to be correct ; however, this does not appear to be justified. This filing should never been designated as a " Home Equity '' loan. My letter of XXXX/XXXX/2015 was arbitrarily dismissed without citing any specific error in my position. My letter of XXXX/XXXX/2015 cited Texas Statute as to the error in the mortgage documents filed. I can not get a response from the lender beyond they are researching - for the last 6 months.

Consumer Complaint: I have two complaints regarding Nationstar Mortgage. 1. I am currently in a Ch XXXX BK. My mortgage is paid by me outside the BK payment plan. As someone who has experienced significant financial troubles in the past, I think it 's very important to make sure my payments are made on timeand accurately posted. I have requested several times to receive statements - and my Attorney has given permission to Nationstar to contact me. However, each time I get " you 're in a BK so we cant send you statements '' - however, when I call on the phone and need to confirm EVERY MONTH that my payment was received and every quarter request a copy of my payment history - their phone recording has a long disclaimer how if you 're in BK this is not an attempt to collect ... .. - subject to the rules of the BK. My complaint is - Why ca n't they just put that disclaimer on the statements and send them each month? I know other mortgage companies do this. Also - once I filed BK - they shut off my online access so I ca n't even look there! This seems like a punishment to those of us that had financial difficulty and now we have to continue to 'pay for it ' when we are trying so hard to get back on our feet and rebuild. I hated that we had to file BK and- my mortgage was current at that time we filed. 2. I have requested an escrow analysis now XXXX times. Each time I get the - OK it will be mailed to you. I have never received it. Today when I called - I got that " it 's not ready yet '' and I ordered it over XXXX weeks ago. WHAT? It 's an escrow analysis - it takes XXXX minutes to run on a computer - probably not even that long since the first time I called, the customer service rep did it while I was on the phone. Today the CS Rep told me he could n't mail it to me but he could give it to me over the phone? Now they tell me it 's not ready yet and they will only mail it to my Attorney. This seems like further delays XXXX punishment ) and also takes more of my time and his time to follow up. If they just sent me a statement I 'd know what the status of my escrow account was! I think this - 'we ca n't send any info to you ' is a cop out - especially once your BK is 'taken care of '' and the approved CH XXXX payment plan begins. I feel that it is discriminatory towards people who have filed BK. We used legal means to try and get ourselves back on track. I want to make sure my payments are received timely -what if there is a problem with my 'bill pay service ' and it does n't show - how do I know in a timely manner in order to avoid additional fees or bad marks on my credit? When I went through my BK - it was noted that my escrow account had a significant shortage - almost XXXX worth - which I had to come up with and pay right away. What it that happens again? How am I suppose to know? I am committed to managing my funds responsibly and getting back on track - this constant battle with Nationstar is nothing more than them harassing me due to the BK.

Consumer Complaint: I have previously submitted documents to Nationstar Mortgage asking that my interest rate be modified from 6.25 % to 3 %. After all this is not an outrageous request ; many homeowners have had this rate for YEARS due to the Great Recession. I also sent themall the documents they required AND amortization schedules with 2.8 %, 3 % and 3.2 % and the respective payment amount. Nothing. I am in bankruptcy, I have the care of my XXXX year old mother who has XXXX, I had to take an early, MEDICAL retirement, meaning that I now exist on XXXX % of my full-time rate of pay, and when my father died in XXXX of 2013 my older brother stole their money and some possessions. We are STILL engaged in a lawsuit against him. I say STILL because we ( my younger brother and myself ) had the very bad misfortune to get a XXXX of a lawyer who did NOTHING! What should have taken 6 months is going on past TWO YEARS. I have been drained of just about every asset I have ever had, and we can not move forward and close that case until as have the funds to do so. Luckily my aunt left me in her will and I, and my brother have a few thousand coming from that. As I said, a year ago I was ready and willing to make the changes in my mortgage payments. I also have a XXXX mortgage with XXXX. They are just weeks away from foreclosure, too. Why do n't these companies cooperate? I am NOT demanding anything extreme. Now, however, it will take balloon payments to satisfy all of their penalties and missed payments ( XXXX especially ). Please help me find someone to help strong-arm these guys into helping me. It is a lot worse now than it was a year ago, and with everything else I am dealing with it is OVERWHELMING. Will you please get them to cooperate. You did when I complained to XXXX, but not very much. I really need an agency that can take my case, put on the brakes and get this all worked out. Unfortunately it just might be too late. This will also throw my daughter out on the street. She does work, but we all know that the market for employment has just barely begun to improve. HELP!

Consumer Complaint: I refinanced a home with Nationstar in XXXX, 2015. I was notified that payments would begin XXXX XXXX by my loan officer. Instead, Nationstar began requesting payments in XXXX. I feel like I was scammed. I checked the closing documents that I signed, and they do indicate that payments would begin in XXXX. I 'm frustrated and already behind in my payments because of this. I tried working it out with Nationstar, but they wo n't budge because of the closing documents. I would not have signed them had I known the start date was in XXXX. Is there anything I can do?
