Consumer Complaint: XXXX sold my XXXX mortgage to Nationstar Mortgage XXXX XXXX. I continued to pay on time every month, but on XXXX XXXX, XXXX I inadvertently discovered that Nationstar had increased my payment by 50 % without notifying me. I learned this when I went to my homeowners insurance website to pay my quarterly bill and discovered that my insurance was paid in full for one year. I then went to the Nationstar website and discovered that they had paid it ( unrequested and without authorization by me ), plus they are now requiring a {$540.00} " cushion '' in my escrow, plus there was an increase in property taxes for XXXX ( the last I was expecting but not the other XXXX amounts ). They averaged this total over only 8 months, increasing my payment from approx {$800.00} to more than {$1200.00} and never notified me, at all, ever. After XXXX reps who were clueless, I spoke with a supervisor in Nationstar escrow dept who kindly requested that this amount be spread over XXXX months, which would increase my payment by " only '' 25 % instead of 50 %. I was told I would receive documentation of our conversation which I have NOT received ; I called back on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and was told I 'd have an answer by XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. On XXXX/XXXX/XXXX I made a payment for the additional funds that would be required for the XXXX % amount so that my account would be current already when the request is approved. I called again today, XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and was told I 'd have an answer in " a day or XXXX. '' Also today XXXX, I discovered a XXXX/XXXX/XXXX message to me on their website saying they are holding my on-time XXXX payment in suspense because it is not a full payment. This is raising red flags all over the place for me and I wonder if they are trying to get rid of XXXX mortgages for some reason. I understand how escrow works but particularly with the shady and seemingly arbitrary undertakings and no notice to me, I am fearful that Nationstar is trying to create an untenable situation and endanger my homeownership of 10 years.

Consumer Complaint: Nationstar is the servicer on my loan and makes payments from the escrow it holds for taxes and insurance. My insurance agent sent on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX a certificate of insurance for XXXX/XXXX/XXXX to XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and an invoice in the amount of {$4300.00} ( copy enclosed ). This invoice was not paid by Nationstar until XXXX/XXXX/XXXX ( proof enclosed ). In the interim period on XXXX XXXX, XXXX Nationstar issued a check number XXXX on a false and fraudulent invoice to a XXXX and check cleared XXXX/XXXX/XXXX. I finally got this payment information from Nationstar on XXXX/XXXX/XXXX after many calls and complaints. I was also given the policy number XXXX and the general phone number for XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX and the accounting department XXXX XXXX XXXX and told to contact them for a refund. I have contacted that number and been told that the agent is out of the office and will return my calls. I have also requested from Nationstar a copy of the certificate of insurance issued by XXXX XXXX for the period XXXX/XXXX/XXXX to XXXX/XXXX/XXXX and none has ever been produced. I only became aware of this double payment when I was doing my income taxes for XXXX in XXXX XXXX and noticed on the prior escrow analysis ( copy included ) that Nationstar paid out of escrow {$4300.00} in XXXX XXXX and {$4300.00} in XXXX of XXXX. I had never received any notice from them regarding my property insurance after they double paid. Basic escrow management of insurance disbursements were ignored in a negligent manner. If I or my insurance company had been notified in XXXX of XXXX regarding this double billing we would have solved it. Since this double payment was a result of their negligence to follow basic requirements I should be reimbursed for their error and proper adjustment made in their procedures to avoid having this happen again. I have no idea who this XXXX XXXX XXXX is and never authorized their coverage. Nor should it be my responsibility to unwind their error and seek the reimbursement myself. This sloppy management gives my concern that Nationstar has far wider problems with servicing their loans and escrows and should be investigated further to get at the source of this mistake and if this is a systematic source of fraud.

Consumer Complaint: I submitted a complaint about Nationstar Mortgage to CFPD ( case number XXXX ) regarding their refusal to work with us regarding modifying our mortgage payments due to the hardship suffered pertaining to my husband 's job loss because of the sudden closing in XXXX, XXXX of the company that he had worked for years. Nationstar 's response was to submit to CFPD our payment history and a repayment plan from XXXX. The XXXX repayment plan was entered into prior to a XXXX illness which nearly killed my husband in XXXX XXXX -- and the subsequent loss of his newly aquired job ( XXXX XXXX ) due to the duration of the illness, XXXX, and XXXX assocated with the severity of the illness in XX/XX/XXXX. Nationstar was apprised of the illness and job loss -- and the XXXX my husband is required to undergo 3 times a week due to the XXXX XXXX he suffered as a result of the acute but devestating illness he endured. ( all of the aforementioned medical history is documented, and can be sent to you if necessary. ) In addition to continuing to flatly refuse to work with us to assist us in becoming current our loan -- in their reply to our complaint -- Nationstar defended its practice of continuing to send the intimidating foreclosure letters, harrassing phone calls, and the reports to all XXXX credit bureaus every 30 days -- and also erroneousy states that we are " approximately two months '' behind on our mortgage -- when in fact, we are only one month behind. In closing, since we submitted our first complaint, we were informed that Nationstar has an " XXXX '' rating from the XXXX with XXXX complaints rendered against them in the last three years. ( ratin scale is " XXXX to " XXXX ''.

Consumer Complaint: Nationstar mortgage purchased my loan from XXXX XXXX XXXX. Shortly after I refinanced with Nationstar to lower my MMP and APR. My new payment was {$1200.00}. I recently checked my bank account and Nationstar increase my monthly minimum payment ( MMP ) to {$1500.00}. I noticed that they increase my MMP months ago without informing me. I called and asked for an explanation and they said that it was because my taxes increased. I educated them that it was not possible. They then said that it was because I did n't have enough money in my escrow account. I 'm upset that I never had this problem with XXXX XXXX XXXX in regards to my escrow. I paid into a escrow account monthly and there 's no reason why I should be thousands of dollars negative. This was a miscalculation when my home was refinanced. My annual taxes are around XXXX XXXX dollars and it still estimated to be the same amount this year. Theres no reason for Nationstar to increase my payment {$330.00} unless they failed as a bank. This is causing a problem for my finances and needs to be fixed. I am currently paying more after refinancing then I did prior with a high rate and a higher amount financed. Nationstar is acting like they 're XXXX different banks. My previous loan prior to my refinancing was with Nationstar who purchased it from XXXX XXXX XXXX. However, they are basically saying that it 's a XXXX XXXX XXXX issue and not their fault or responsibility. I put 100 % of the problem with Nationstar. They should have ensure that everything was 100 % when I refinanced and they did not. One month after I refinanced they increased my fixed payment.

Consumer Complaint: Nationstar Mortgage is predatory in nature. Since XXXX XXXX XXXX sold my loan to them, they were constantly calling me or sending me emails for their products, even after I told them not to. Thankfully I was able to get this stopped over time, but recently I called to see how much I needed to pay off my PMI. Nothing was said about a long wait time to get it applied to my account. When I paid the amount needed to get PMI off, I have now been getting the run-around. I contacted them to get it taken off and was told it would take XXXX10 business days to research it and then take another amount of time to research it again before it is taken off. Then, the lady I spoke to said there were other people ahead of me, so they would n't be able to start to look into the matter until XXXX XXXX. It 's XXXX XXXX right now and I had already called about this on XXXX, with no answers. On XXXX, I was told I would receive a call on XXXX about this, but received no call. Now because this is being drawn out so long, I will have to make atleast XXXX other PMI payment. Why does this process take so long and why am I being given the run-around on this?

Consumer Complaint: I have submitted numerous qualified written request to XXXX XXXX, XXXX, and Nationstar. Only Nationstar has sent XXXX notice that they are researching. Our problem began this past XXXX XXXX when we entered into an agreement to sell our home since we are relocating. Upon getting the payoff we were floored to discover an additional {$50000.00} attached to our payoff!! We learned from Nationstar that this is a corporate advance for a modification with XXXX in XXXX. We never signed a modification with XXXX in XXXX!!!! Nor did they ever send us paperwork. Had they sent us paperwork we would have realized something was way wrong. We signed XXXX modification with XXXX in XXXX at our kitchen table!! XXXX was already XXXX at the time but XXXX failed to properly document. We did reach out to XXXX in XXXX but nothing was ever resolved. The next thing we knew we were with Nationstar. The false modification came when payoff was requested. Nationstar emailed the modification paperwork to us. This was NEVER signed by us. XXXX falsified, forged, or copy-pasted signatures!! XXXX XXXX refuses to respond to inquiries although they claim they will all back. XXXX flat out does out respond. And Nationstar just gives auto responses that they are working to resolve the issue.

Subissue:

Consumer Complaint: In the last XXXX months, Nationstar has incorrectly applied 2 of my 4 mortgage payments. Instead of applying my payments as directed, they have simply taken the whole amount and applied to principal only, essentially forcing me to make a secondary mortgage payment for the SAME month. The first time this happened was for the XXXX XXXX payment. I paid it early, XX/XX/XXXX, in an attempt to budget for XXXX, holidays, etc. Upon discovering it, I believed that somehow it was my mistake and that I paid XXXX XXXX 's payment too early ( i.e. in XXXX instead of XX/XX/XXXX ) so I did not investigate the matter further at that time. However, this has happened again for the XXXX XXXX payment. On XXXX XXXX XXXX, I paid XXXX XXXX payment which was processed correctly. Per statement dated XXXX XXXX the next payment was due on XXXX XXXX XXXX. On XXXX XXXX XXXX, I paid XXXX XXXX payment. This payment was not applied as directed. On XXXX XXXX XXXX, I was attempting to pay XXXX XXXX payment but discovered that according to Nationstar my XXXX payment was outstanding and overdue. Therefore my intended XXXX XXXX XXXX payment was accepted and applied to XXXX XXXX, i.e. Nationstar demanded payment for XXXX XXXX XXXX mortgage in XXXX consecutive month statements. This is an unacceptable violation of the Homeowners Protection Act to be billed TWICE. I have all the back-up for the statement dates and the payment allocations which were not done as indicated. There is absolutely no mistake on what I was making payment for or where I was allocating the monies so their practices are deceptive and fraudulent. It appears as though Nationstar is illegally trying to effect payment default on my loan to begin loan modification processes. I have contacted Nationstar, specifically XXXX XXXX, to correct the matter but to date, they have refused to comply and also refused to provide information of Department Manager so that I may escalate the urgent matter.
