Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I found a debt collections on my credit report when I investigated the debt I found out it was for a claim from a building I used to live in from XX/XX/XXXX - XX/XX/XXXX. Upon moving into the apartment in XX/XX/XXXX I was asked to take out insurance in the event something happens in the final month of my lease. Low & behold, the pandemic happened & I was unable to pay the final month however my insurance with XXXX covered it. In XX/XX/XXXX is when I realized the collections. Apparently the creditors at National Credit system bought the debt back in XX/XX/XXXX however it was paid on XX/XX/XXXX. I disputed this debt multiple times in XX/XX/XXXX however each time the creditors validated the debt. It is a gross mishandling of this account as they did not check with the original debtor if the debt was paid and continued to not only validate it but also refute the details with me over the phone. I sent the emails attached to National Credit Systems however they have not been communicative despite their mishandling of this debt for the last 10 months.

Consumer Complaint: I moved out of the XXXX at XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. I received notification from the property on XX/XX/XXXX that I owed {$14000.00} for the remaining balance of the lease from XXXX XX/XX/XXXX. I went to the leasing office XX/XX/XXXX and spoke with XXXX to discuss the letter that I received from XXXX for XXXX at XXXX and was informed by the property manager that they had released the Unit # XXXX. South Carolina law is that you can not charge a previous tenant for the remaining balance of a lease if the unit or property is released. They can only charge up to the date of the re-lease. I have been fighting this with the XXXX for XXXX at XXXX for 4 years and it has prevented me from being able to purchase a home and lease a home in my name. I am ready to take legal actions. It is being reported on my credit report by National Credit Systems for {$15000.00}. I have reached out to them as well to inform them that they are reporting an inaccurate bill and that they need to have this deleted from my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: I began corresponding with XXXX XXXX a manager with National Credit Systems , Inc around XX/XX/2021. This is the time I became aware of a collection on my credit report for an apartment rental in XXXX, TX. The apartment was rented in my name when I lived in XXXX, California. I contacted National Credit Systems via telephone and Mr. XXXX returned my call. He emailed me a fraud affidavit to complete and return to him, which I did. On XX/XX/2021 he acknowledged receipt of the completed fraud package. On XX/XX/2021 Mr. XXXX advised me via email that the investigation could take up to 30 days to complete. After receiving another call from National Credit Systems regarding a payment for the debt, I again contacted Mr. XXXX via email asking why his agency was still contacting me for payment. He responded with an email on XX/XX/2021 stating that call was to inform you of the confirmation number for the credit removal. We processed the request for removal please refer to ( AUD # XXXX XXXX as confirmation. The collection item was removed from my XXXX and XXXX credit report but continues to be reported as accurate on my XXXX credit report. I have disputed this item three times with XXXX and every time the dispute has been completed as verified consumer debt. I reached out to Mr. XXXX on XX/XX/2021 via email informing him that XXXX was still reporting this debt on my credit report. He responded on XX/XX/2021 asking for a copy of credit report that still shows the debt. I complied and emailed him a screenshot of the debt listed on my XXXX report. Mr. XXXX has not responded since that date. I have emailed him several times since requesting an update on removing this item from my XXXX report. XXXX has show no regard for my health and well-being. I have submitted to XXXX the completed fraud affidavit and the email correspondence from Mr. XXXX but they have three times verified the debt as mine.

Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I sent a dispute regarding a debt that I do not recognize to National Credit Systems. Is an apartment complex, and when I left, everything was paid and no past due balances were left. By XX/XX/XXXX the collection agency didn't respond to my previous letter but still sent a bill trying to collect the money, on the same day I send a second letter by certified mail letting them know that they were in violation. As of today XX/XX/XXXX, the collection agency has not responded to me. In addition, I never got my right to dispute the debt by any means.

Consumer Complaint: Company refused to remove an alleged account for XXXX aparmtnets. They could not vailidate the debt by providing a contract with my signature according to FCRA guidelines. Because of their refusal to remove the unvalidated account, I agreed to pay the amount in return for deletion. The company took my payment and refused to remove the unvalidated account. Their customer service representatives and managers have been rude and not helpful during this entire process.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: I have disputed this collection account repeatedly because I am not sure why it shows I owe the apartment complex. I have requested a debt validation letter. I have tried looking the debt up online and have been unsuccessful in even finding anything on this debt. I never received a letter or anything about it prior to it showing on all 3 of my credit reports and still have not received anything. The collection agency keeps removing and adding account back on to my credit report to purposely hurt my credit. I think its unfair that they have never sent me any documentation or information regarding this debt in order for me to validate and try to resolve.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021 I received an initial communication from National Credit Systems stating that a debt was owed. On XX/XX/2021 I requested, via certified mail, a validation of that debt also asking that they verify that they are legally authorized to collect on that debt. On XX/XX/2021 I received a letter from XXXX XXXX stating that I haven't made a suitable arrangement to resolve this debt. Violating the FCRA On XX/XX/2021 I sent a follow up letter, via certified mail, because I had not received validation or verification. On this date National Credit Systemts effectively violatined Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, 15 USC 1692g If the consumer notifies the debt collector in writing within the thirty-day period described in subsection ( a ) that the debt, or any portion thereof, is disputed, or that the consumer requests the name and address of the original creditor, the debt collector shall cease collection of the debt, or any disputed portion thereof, until the debt collector obtains verification of the debt or any copy of a judgment, or the name and address of the original creditor, and a copy of such verification or judgment, or name and address of the original creditor, is mailed to the consumer by the debt collector. On XX/XX/2021 I received communication stating that they haven't received information to validate my dispute. On XX/XX/2021 I send a follow up letter to the correspondence I received on XX/XX/2021 to provide National credit Systems with further information to " validate my dispute ''. On XX/XX/2021 A collection was reported on my account in further violation of the FCRA. To this date I have not received proper notification that its a valid debt.
