Consumer Complaint: I have updated information for the complaint with MANUFACTURERS TRADERS & TRUST COMPANY doing business as M & T BANK. I received correspondence threatening to seize my property using language coercing me to pay a debt I do not owe. Under the consumer credit protection laws of the Truth In Lending Act 15 USC 1635 I have the right to rescind any consumer credit transaction and pursuant to 15 USC 1641 ( c ) I have the right to rescind against any assignee of the obligation. M & T BANK received my rescission on XXXX however has refused to comply with the law and has made false statements stating that I do qualify for the right of rescission based off of the loan type which is incorrect. I have attached a copy of the correspondence from M & T BANK that made the false statements and the correspondence that threatened to take my home coercing me to pay a debt. I have also attached a copy of the law governing consumer credit protection.

Closed my account due to a defamatory comment by XXXX against me. and Were talking to me about the XXXX XXXX XXXX. They also told me they would take action which to me meant they are working with Police on criminal charges. I will say its hard being a XXXX in America and I can not accept this inequitable treatment anymore. Consumer Finance Protection Bureau of Washington DC you are complacent. I have no accessibility to the car loan I have. M & T Bank even claims they are enforcing a generic Virginia law contract. Its so weird how banks believe they can oppress you- and you know they can because this has caused substantial damages that was overly burdensome more than most men can bear. I disputed the interest charges from he last time I had accessibility to present time but my dispute has not been processed or responded to in writing. Today I paid {$880.00} on a car loan that I have no access to the loan number or what was charged and for what. I dont know interest rates interest charges per diems or anything since I am a XXXX in America . I just want to let you know that it is my Goal to have a Jury of my peers see the systematic XXXX XXXX XXXX for XXXX in the Financial System. This one is a little different though- this one is a liability, a loan, an obligation. What a sad state of affairs. We are in. CFPB ask them how many hours I had to be damaged to deal with this. This is a recurring problem of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX from the FInance System that has caused consequential damages to self which could be described as overly burdensome by the average person.

Consumer Complaint: I Requested a Covid Forbearance in XX/XX/XXXX. I ended my forbearance in XX/XX/XXXX and applied for a loan mod. The bank approved my loan mod with lower payments and completed the partial claim to place a portion of my balance to the end of the loan per FHA guidelines.I had a {$1000.00} in suspense. When they approved me for the loan mod they told me I had to pay ( 3 ) trial mod payments and since I had {$1000.00} in suspense it could be used towards my first mod payment. I was dealing with a manager XXXX who was kind enough to help me get everything set up. She told me my first mod payment would be {$1400.00} but they were using the {$1000.00} already in my suspense bucket so all I had to pay was {$420.00} which I paid. Since then I paid all of my trial mod payments and my XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX mortgage payment. As of today they still have not processed my loan mod in their system I can not make my payments online I do not have online access and they have all my payments in the suspense bucket. I have {$7100.00} sitting in suspense. What makes it bad I get a call from XXXX at M & T bank and tells me I am due for my XX/XX/XXXX paymentI told him absolutely not I am current and owe my XXXX payment. He then said that when I made my first mod payment I was not allowed to use my money that was in my suspense bucketnow I am very angry that was my money I paid during my Covid Forb that loss not told me could be used for my first trial payments. Something has to be done one hand does not know what the other hand is doing and I am tired of being harassed. please help me or do I need an attorney

Consumer Complaint: My husband got gas on XX/XX/XXXX at a local XXXX gas station. The charge was for {$29.00}. A several days later we noticed our bank account was much lower than it should be. Upon investigation our charge for gas showed up on XX/XX/XXXX, but then XXXX other charges showed up at the same gas station for : - {$85.00} on XX/XX/XXXX - {$43.00} on XX/XX/XXXX - {$85.00} on XX/XX/XXXX - {$79.00} on XX/XX/XXXX - {$85.00} on XX/XX/XXXX This totaled {$370.00}! I am assuming that someone skimmed the card. I don't understand how or why they charged it at the same gas station -- unless there was an error at the gas station. My husband immediately called M & T Bank and reported the unauthorized charges. They gave us the money back temporarily and cancelled the bank card and issued my husband a new card. After a couple weeks, the money disappeared from our account and we got a letter saying that M & T Bank denied our claim because our PIN number was used. We did NOT give our PIN number out our make these charges! I read that people use a camera to catch your PIN. I find it hard to believe the bank does not know this. Also, I am still concerned -- what if the gas station had a glitch? My husband called and was told that we would be sent a form to appeal the decision. My husband also went to the bank personally and they put notes in our account. But, we never received the letter to appeal. My husband then called the bank today, XXXX, and was told that the fraud department closed the claim and will not reopen it! I was pretty angry and called. They told me the claim was reopened on XX/XX/XXXX and they are still investigating it. We are hearing constantly different things and are getting the run around. I have no proof they are investigating this fraud and it appears that they will not protect us. I am very upset. I called XXXX and the police and both told me that the bank is who we were supposed to call, which we did do.

The financial institution continues to give me different information each time I call. They are claiming each time i call to put in a request for the refund it is 30 business days before they will process it. I called on XX/XX/XXXX and they assured me the check had been cut and verified the mailing address. Consumer Complaint: I've been a customer of M & T bank since XX/XX/2007. At that time I used them as my primary banking. After some time I have spread out to other banks and accounts. Over the years, I would send funds to my M & T back account each month. I didn't use it as an active account but, I wanted to hold a balance with them. Recently, I was able to log in to my account and found out that each month they were taking a {$14.00} a month service fee from me for a service that I do no use. I spoke to customer service and they were able to refund just XXXX months but, said I have to go to the bank if I wanted to resolve it further. I went to the bank and the cashier wouldn't help me at all. She ended up changing my accout over to an account that doesn't have this fee as another period were money was taken out.She also had to change the phone number and address on file. I want my money back.

A detective from M & T bank contacted me in XX/XX/XXXX to tell me there was money being laundered from her account. My mother took out credit cards to pay the thieves from her account.. The tellers at the bank allowed an XXXX XXXX XXXX women take out credit cards totaling approximately {$11000.00}. M & T was aware of my mothers financial status. She is now in {$11000.00} debit to M & T bank. I believe M & T has predatory lending practices and we would like to have the credit cards discharged. She has already paid approximately {$3500.00} in credit card bills to M & T. I have contacted M & T on numerous occasions XXXX, XXXX and recently in XXXX. Consumer Complaint: I have an equity-line-of -credit with M & T bank. The line was first opened many years ago by banks that M & T absorbed. I became delinquent on this account in XXXX because of health and business problems. In addition, they raised my monthly payment almost 10 fold. At the end of the year, I requested a loan modification from M & T. I submitted all the paper they needed and they told me on XXXX that there were things missing and they gave me until XXXX XXXX to respond. I responded by that date and on XX/XX/XXXX they told me that there was some missing information and because it was so close to the foreclosure date that they would no longer consider a modification and would not tell me what items were " missing. '' Most of my correspondence is with XXXX, the foreclosure attorneys. They send me mailings every day highlighting the foreclosure date. The letter they send is one I received from M & T in XXXX on XXXX XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2021, {$7600.00} was fraudulently withdrawn my M & T checking account. On XXXX XXXX, I went into the branch to fill out an " XXXX XXXX XXXX. '' While in the branch, it was determined an electronic check was created, and cashed at a XXXX Bank, unknown location. On XX/XX/2021 I went into a local branch of XXXX Bank to see if they could help with this. They provided limited information. On XX/XX/2021 a second attempt to withdraw money ( this time {$28000.00} ) was denied by the bank as a " no debits on the account '' was placed. On XX/XX/2021, {$7600.00} was deposited back into the account. On XX/XX/2021 the NY XXXX Police XXXX XXXX barracks took a report from me re this situation. Report # XXXX. On XX/XX/2021, the {$7600.00} was taken back out of the account. When I inquired with the M & T branch as to why, I was told it was done by XXXX Bank as the transaction is not considered fraudulent. I was referred to XXXX Bank, but when I went to the branch no assistance was offered, all questions unanswered, referred back to M & T. M & T told me in XXXX that this is an open investigation. The local branch can not ( or will not ) provide me with some division within their company as to who I may consult with this. The NY XXXX XXXX XXXX assigned to the case stated to me he has met with much resistance from XXXX Bank re this matter.
