Issue: Problem with customer service

Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX. I purchased a cashiers check from Key Banks XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Utah branch in XX/XX/2016. The funds used for the check were taken from my personal account with Key Bank. There was a mistake made on the title listing Key Bank as a lien holder. I have never had a loan from Key bank of any kind. When I contacted them about this mistake I was told to talk with several different departments. Everyone I have spoken with has told me they can see i don't owe the bank money, but nobody will provide me with any documentation of it to have the title changed. The vehicle is sold and I am trying to get another but this wrongful lien is preventing me from moving forward with the sale. I have provided the bank with pictures of the title and vin number to no results. There should never have been a lien on this vehicle as it was purchased with personal funds. I understand that the bank didn't put their name on the title. That was XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX Utah. My issue is that Key Bank doesn't seem to care that they are costing me financially in postponing the sale of the vehicle by not simply emailing/mailing me a lien release or letter of non interest in a vehicle that they they have no legal claim to. It is my understanding that a wrongful lien is illegal and that they would want this matter handled quickly.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem using a debit or ATM card
Consumer Complaint: Key Bank received a deposit from my employer on Thursday, XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$270.00} from XXXX. I went to the gas station to use the debit card issued and it was declined. I went back across the street to ask the financial wellness consultant, named XXXX XXXX to fix the problem as I had just left from speaking to him about an overdraft to my account and he informed me that my card would not be working until i speak to the manager XXXX XXXX and that he would not be in the office until XXXX XXXX. XXXX XXXX contacted me by phone on XXXX XXXX around XXXX XXXX. and told me they are closing my account and do not wish to have a business relationship with me even though it is not a business account only a personal account. I believe this was a hostile response to a visit I made to the bank on Friday, XXXX XXXX after I requested a w9 form so I could claim both sides of the ledger and report the W9 to the IRS. This has caused me a huge convenience and they have refused to give me the W9 and all of my statements and did not provide the phone number or address to their legal department.

Consumer Complaint: Key Bank was notified in writing that my mother had passed and included was a copy of her death certificate and a copy of the death certificate was also hand delivered to the local branch where my mom also had a checking account. Key Bank continued sending threatening letters to a dead person adding additional finance charges, late fees etc. Then Key Bank turned over the debt to XXXX XXXX XXXX. Upon receiving the notice from XXXX, I responded that the amount they were trying to collect was incorrect and there was no monies remaining in the estate ( at the time there was none, recently I was made aware that additional monies will be coming to the estate ). XXXX sent another letter address to me with a notarized document giving the appearance that the document came from XXXXXXXX XXXX Court of the State of New York - XXXX XXXX. This is a fake document as this is out of XXXX XXXX 's jurisdiction ; my mom died in XXXX XXXX. Additionally, I called XXXX XXXX - XXXX XXXX and the representative I spoke to confirmed the file number XXXX referred to was not from XXXX XXXX, their numbers don't start like the numbers provided and the representative informed me that XXXX XXXX Court would not send anything out on behalf of a collection agency.

It is also federal law for a boat to be trailered and titled. Therefore, we need the title and you will pay those costs not us. In your many documents you did not include the note, the note is what binds this contract and is what you are responsible for, I apologize you do not understand lending law. We have reattached the note for your convenience as an added " courtesy ''. It is odd you did not attach the note, why did you leave that out? Further, we live in Indiana, your registered agent doesnt have to reside in CA but you do by law have to provide that information. We will look up your corporate headquarters and write the state and department of corporations or banking commission and get this information. Your attorney will have to travel here, it is sad you don't understand this law as well because a registered agent is a representative of your company who is served with lawsuits. We will need the name and address and phone of your registered agent in whatever state they reside in within the United States of America. You have brought up a NEW point and we will address this with a NEW request. We need the registered agent information for KeyBank and are going to sue you for damages and the timeline it took to get title for the boat as well. We want you to provide this information and it does not matter if they reside in CA. Law states you will travel to us and the damage to us happened here where we live. You will do the work not us for obtaining title to the trailer in accordance with the law. If KeyBank did not obtain title you broke the law. This trailer was registered before and the prior owner held title, we provided you with ALL documentation and a bill of sale. Therefore you will need to obtain title and the costs associated, not us. There is no courtesy in giving us some random name who will back you up and a form that we know about so we can pay the costs and take our time obtaining title which by laws in the state of California you are required to have/possess as the lender and by the federal government and state law pass to us the consumer upon paying the laon off. I will spare all the many codes and court cases by name as you did with some thrown off legal statute from CA which doesnt encompass and ignores the CA law requiring title for boat trailers. If CA law requires it you have to provide it as you were our lender. End of story. You dont have the original note that INCLUDES the trailer you may have done your research but you are not providing a legal resolution. You are protecting yourself and trying to get out of your obligation and it wont happen. Stop trying to get out of this, the longer you take the more damage and the more money we will sue for, I promise you.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I woke up to a {$38.00} XXXX XXXX by Key Bank. I have REPEATEDLY told this bank I DO NOT want overdraft protection and have opted out of such a " so called '' service. Instead, Key Bank keep finding loopholes to take my money any way possible. I called the bank on the morning of XX/XX/2022, and the representative XXXX mentioned that " it's at the bank 's discretion to charge an overdraft charge and not the choice of the consumer. '' Really? I want my {$38.00} refunded NOW! Key Bank repeatedly finds loopholes in their attempt, in XXXX way or another, to pocket free money from innocent consumers who are struggling making ends meet. Enough is ENOUGH!

Consumer Complaint: I have been a KeyBank customer since XXXX of XXXX through applying and approved of a Home Equity Line of Credit ( HELOC ) loan. Repaying loan payment always on time until XX/XX/XXXX when I received a phone call from KeyBank to inform me that my account is delinquent. Monthly payment to KeyBank was through my personal banking bill pay account, on time and never missed a payment for 15 years, and since this loan is a HELOC, the payment amount stay the same through out the life of the loan. With disbelieve, I went down to my local Keybank branch to resolve this issue, but without success. The XXXX XXXX Keybank manager XXXX XXXX XXXX could not even access my account without calling the central office for assistance! I had gone through various Keybank departments like the Loss Mitigation Department, and the Enterprise Client Relations ; the case being handled by many bank personnel to include staff within the Loss Mitigation department ; in the attempt to resolve my account issues without results. Keybank had changed my loan account number without letting me know, non-responsive with email communications I had with its Loss Mitigation Department. My loan account had been changed several times without my knowledge, that is, from XXXX to XXXX, then to the current one XXXX. I want to know why my account ending in XXXX was closed without notifying me, and a new account and number established without letting me know with new payments? From XX/XX/XXXX until now, 44 months had gone by, none of the issues had resolved, meanwhile all the unjust late fees, penalties, unauthorized and inappropriate property appraisals, and all other fees totaling {$14000.00} were ordered and imposed on my account to drive up the balance owed further. I am a XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX veteran, served my country for 35 years, and retire in XXXX. Nothing had baffled or tormented me as much until now. KeyBank has ruined my credit score by placing derogatory comments on my credit agency reports, deliberately making it difficult for me to refinance or to borrow money, and at the same time encouraged me to reapply for a new or modified loan. I am seeking financial relief from this bank whose personnel are refusing to listen, not compassionate, and not willing to accept wrong doings.
