Consumer Complaint: Dear CFPB, Could you please help me on the fraudulent transaction? Yesterday morning, a facebook user, XXXX XXXX, asked to buy a sofa from my family at {$1200.00}. She asked to pay via XXXX. Then she told me that my account had limit so she would send me {$400.00} more, totaling of {$1600.00} and then I had to send her back {$400.00}. She also said she trsuted me so she would send me {$400.00} more to make my account be eligible for receiving {$1200.00}. I also received XXXX emails from XXXX XXXX ( as attached ), it made me believe they're the real ones. In addition, she said her XXXX would go to pick up soon. But after that, I felt something wrong there. I also received an email from Chase saying that my transaction was cancelled. Hence I believed the transaction was canceled. However, last night, I checked my checking account and I saw {$400.00} was charged. I tried to contact Chase but it seems like they just filed the report. I am in the middle of moving. My XXXX got high fever for the last XXXX days. Those things made me out of control. Can you please help protect me from this transaction? {$400.00} is really big to me and my family. I would appreciate your help.

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers

Subissue: Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card

Consumer Complaint: Chase Bank online website states that they are able to waive the fee for a new chase slate credit card for a balance transfer IF the original credit card was with chase bank. Yesterday ( XX/XX/2023 ), I went to the Chase Branch at XXXX XXXX in XXXX, Oklahoma so I could complete a balance transfer from one credit card to another in order to pay off some debt that I have accrued. They assured me that this was feasible so I opened up the credit card and attempted the balance transfer. They said it was approved and that I would be able to see the transfer within a few days. Today ( XX/XX/2023 ), I received a phone call from the woman who helped me yesterday stating that Chase bank can not accept balance transfers from an original chase credit card which was completely different from yesterdays conversation and the information that their website states. This is a major issue as it will likely affect my credit report, as I will have to close the new credit card. A reputable bank such as Chase bank should absolutely never market these lies, and have their employees state this, and then a day later after the credit card has been approved state that they are not able to do what they originally intended.

Subissue: Privacy issues

Consumer Complaint: I am writing to file a formal complaint against Chase for their non-compliance with 15 USC 6802 ( b ) and their failure to address my concerns regarding my opt-out right. On XXXX, I sent a dispute letter to Chase detailing the specific reasons why I believed they were in violation of 15 USC 6802 ( b ), which grants me the right to opt out of certain information sharing practices. However, despite my attempts to resolve this matter directly with the company, no satisfactory resolution has been reached. In my initial communication, I clearly articulated my concerns and requested that Chase rectify the non-compliance promptly. However, I have received no response or acknowledgment of my complaint to date. This lack of responsiveness is deeply concerning and demonstrates a disregard for consumer ri I firmly believe that it is crucial for financial institutions to adhere to federal regulations that protect consumers ' privacy and allow them control over their personal information. By failing to address my concerns or provide a resolution, Chase is neglecting its duty to comply with the law and failing to uphold its responsibilities towards its customers. I am seeking your assistance in resolving this matter and ensuring that Chase fulfills its obligations under 15 USC 6802 ( b ). I kindly request that the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau thoroughly investigate my complaint and take appropriate action to rectify the situation. Enclosed with this complaint, please find copies of all relevant documentation, including my dispute letter to Chase and any subsequent communication or lack thereof. I am eager to receive a response from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau regarding the progress of my complaint. I trust that your agency will handle this matter with the utmost attention and seriousness it deserves. Thank you for your time and consideration. I eagerly await your response and a resolution to this issue.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement

Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement

Consumer Complaint: Back in XXXX of 2022 I realized that charges from XXXX ( there are several 100 's of charges ) were not mine. The problem is that I had already made about {$20000.00} in payments. I disputed the charges with Chase, disputes sent me to fraud. Fraud sent me to disputes, this happened several times. There are probably over 50 different call logged with Chase. When this all happened I didn't know what was going on, everyone became a suspect I tried to figure out how it happened who did it. I question several of the companies that I worked with but none of them had access to the card. I contacted XXXX, they provided an order history from the card. All of the email addresses and IP addresses are bogus. They don't belong to me and I don't know where they came from. There is currently {$37000.00} in charges on the card that I didn't authorize. I have done business with Chase for over 10 years and haven't had any problems. My credit score was XXXX and now that Chase has reported this my credit score is XXXX. The credit card had a limit of {$35000.00} the card ran up to {$48000.00}, I called in and had the card deactivated. Still scratching my head as to why Chase didn't let the charges go over the limit and not notify me of suspicious activity like they do on my personal card. I am asking that Chase review the fraudulent charges and do the right thing by removing them from my account and restore my credit. I have worked on my credit for the past 25 years and it is very important to me. Warm Regards,

Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Banking errors

Consumer Complaint: On the XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXXXX/XX/XXXX I made a cash deposit at a chase atm for {$3700.00}. I put all {$100.00} bills and after my funds were inserted into the atm. The atm issued me a receipt stating my funds will be available next business day. When making a cash deposit funds are available immediately and my account was never credited the {$3700.00} I deposited after my funds were accepted. Immediately I called chase bank and reported the incident. I was told that I will be credited the {$3700.00}. I was never issued the temporary credit that the chase representative promised me. I made a XXXX attempt to recover my funds going inside the same branch making my complaint to a banker. I was then told my claim was denied and to reopen the claim for another investigation. I was told to wait 10 days for another investigation to be completed. It's been 30 days and I haven't got my credit, updates, or any correspondence from the claim.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report

Subissue: Information is missing that should be on the report

Consumer Complaint: Around XX/XX/2021, Chase Bank and its mortgage team requested a second credit report from a third-party. We were told on the second credit check my spouse had missing information and Chase Bank blamed the credit reporting agencies.m and told me my spouse did not enough credit history. Of course, pretext is possible since my spouse had the better score during the pre qualification stage. The credit score in the first credit check displayed XXXX approximately for her score. After many conversations, Chase Bank and its mortgage team reiterated the credit reporting companies are responsible for their errors. However, Chase Bank and its mortgage team also stated multiple times my spouse no longer had a reportable credit score because she lacks credit history. Both statements are mutually exclusive. To muddy the waters even more, Chase and company stated there is no regulation requiring a settled fixed loan to stay on a credit report ; additionally, Chase was under no obligation to move foreword with closing the loan because there were no written policies addressing issues similarly related to records retention. Instead, we were denied our first loan application because my spouses credit score discrepancy ( pretext ). After our inquiry, we were discriminated against, including : ignoring our attempt to define policies for records retention related to settled debts; dragging feet when asked to provide answers ; misleading statements about having to go through the credit reporting agencies ; dishonesty and self-serving behaviors ; and retaliating against us when I alleged discrimination against women and for my request for an investigation into possible violations and/or self-serving behaviors. Chase et al. has successfully misdirected the CFPB and myself to accept responsibility for self-serving behaviors and lying about or not creating records retention policies for loans. Ultimately, we are stuck with higher payments and a higher interest rate by more than 20 points or 0.2 % ; I was forced out of the company for filing a complaint and questioning company practices ; and my personal information was shared with my local branch manager. What can I do? Thank you.
