Consumer Complaint: When I was trying to pay the administrative fee to the UXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX for my housing application, I tried to pay the fee from my checking account. However, for some reason, that payment is unsuccessful and I was notified by the company that I would be responsible for a {$50.00} payment unsuccessful fee. I also contacted my bank, and they did not provide me with any valid explanation in regard to the reason they stopped that payment. There was enough funds in my account and I have been having no idea why that payment was blocked. The only thing I know is that I am responsible for that {$50.00} fee ( which is unfair to me ).

Consumer Complaint: I write in response to a fraudulent Chase account that was opened using my name and social security number. I discovered this account on or about XX/XX/2023 when I went to lease a new vehicle. The dealership ran my credit report and informed me that a Chase card was adversely impacting my credit. I immediately called Chase to file a fraudulent application / account report. I was informed that I would receive correspondence confirming that the account was closed, canceled and removed from my credit report. I did not receive any such correspondence. When I called to follow up on the status of this matter, I was informed that my claim was denied and that I would be responsible for this account because a valid payment had been made on the account. I have never applied for nor had any Chase account. I do not know who made a payment on this account or that if the payment was valid or not. I am hereby demanding that Chase comply with its obligations under the FCRA and to remove this account from my credit report immediately otherwise I will no choice but to proceed with legal action. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: Last year I moved out of my apartment and received my security deposit from the leasing company via check totaling {$1700.00}. I had just recently created a Chase checking account and decided it would be best to deposit the check into the new checking account to ensure I had funds in it. I did so via mobile deposit on my phone. About a month or so later, I received a letter in the mail from Chase bank notifying me that they were closing my bank account and holding onto the {$1700.00} of the security deposit. After several attempts to understand the situation, by both going into a local branch and calling several Chase phone numbers, I was told that the check had to be verified by the landlord/leasing company ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX . I provided all the numbers my leasing company shared with me, but Chase would not accept any of them. I then asked if they would just return the check to the leasing company ( check writer ). That way the leasing company could then void this check, write me a new one and I could cash it directly with their bank ( XXXX XXXX ). However Chase Bank said they would not do so. They would continue to hold onto the money until it was verified, however every phone number I provided for the writer of the check they would not accept. I asked the leasing company ( XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ) if they would be willing to go to a branch with me to verify. I provided all of the information that Chase said would be needed : 1 ) Proof of ownership of the business ( ex : certificate of the LLC or Inc ). 2 ) Proof that the check was written by the business owner ( ex : business checks have a receipt at the back of a checkbook or a letter from the account that has all necessary information ( date, amount, check number ). 3 ) ID ( 2 forms ) ( ex : drivers license, debit card, passport ) The management company who sent me the check replied with the following " We are the property management company for XXXX XXXX XXXX, we do not own this property. Please ask your bank what they actually will need from me. '' Although I had provided that to them. It seems that the management/leasing company who has changed their names several times doesn't have a phone number that Chase will recognize. And given Chase won't cancel the check/return to the funds to the leasing/management company and the management company will not take any further steps to address the issue ( their last communication to me was I just have to deal with the bank because the {$1700.00} was pulled out of their bank account already ), I'm at a loss on how to proceed. Chase will continue to hold onto the money and give it back to the state as unclaimed funds although I keep attempting to claim them, but they will not accept my efforts to do so. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Consumer Complaint: On Tuesday XXXX XXXX, XXXX I tried logging into my chase bank account and saw that my account was locked due to suspicious activity, I immediately called and talked with chase and was asked to give a number to verify a check I had deposited into my account, I gave the number and was told to call back. I called back the next day Wednesday XXXX, and was told again to call back another time with no explanation, I then kept calling everyday ( only to be told to call back every time, receiving no help or information ) I kept calling leading up to Tuesday XX/XX/XXXX when I called and was told that my account was closed because the check could not be verified with the number I provided, at no point before my account being closed was I informed that the number wasnt verified even though I had called every day. I was also told that I would not be able to open an account with chase ever again. My check was completely valid, and had I been told any of the previous times I called I would have provided a different number and the issue could have been resolved. I feel like I got XXXX help or care from chase and was unfairly banned from their banking network. ( JP Morgan ).

Consumer Complaint: I opened a Chase checking account back in XX/XX/2023. Right after the account was opened, I made a mobile check deposit of {$3000.00} to this account on XX/XX/2023. A couple days later, I received the letter from Chase saying that they need to verify the maker of this check. I called the number indicated in the letter and told them that I want them to verify the maker of this check. They asked for my company 's name and asked me to provide them the official business phone number of my company. I provided a couple of numbers I found and they told me that based on the records in THEIR SYSTEM, the numbers were incorrect. So I told them that I would verify with my Payroll department and call them back. A couple days later, I called Chase back and told them that I got the correct check verification numbers from my Payroll department. When I asked Chase to make calls to these correct numbers I gave them, again they told me that the numbers are not the right numbers based on THEIR records. That's when I realised that Chase DID NOT keep their system updated and Chase does not have the correct numbers in their system. By this time, Chase had already swept the money to their Central Authorization Team and closed my checking account. In the meanwhile, there was nothing my company could do to stop pay this check. Thereafter, I also went to the branch office and see if they could help. They also ended up calling the number and I got the same answer from Chase. There is nothing they can do. They can't verify the check, so they can't give my money back.

Consumer Complaint: Hi, We have been a victim of a scam. My wife applied for a job on XXXX for which she had some communications back and forth and ultimately she was told that she has been hired. Company representative sent her a check of {$2900.00} ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) and told her that she need to use this money to set up office at her home and would require us to send money to some company authorized vendor to purchase work equipments. We submitted that check in our Chase Bank thru the app. Upon submitting check was showing as pending. We called the Chase Bank and we were told that when check will be cleared it will show Money in our account as available balance and nothing will show as pending. That will be the confirmation from our side that check got cleared. Status in the bank account was showing as pending until XX/XX/XXXX before the check was reverted by the company ( XXXX ) stating us that they will issue us a new check. We were issued a new check on XX/XX/XXXX which we submitted again thru the app It was still showing as pending same day. Next day ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ), money was available in my account and it was showing nothing as pending. Based on the earlier communication and online status in our chase account we were satisfied that check has been cleared and there is no risk now. After that Company representative has sent us a contact saying this is a vendor you need to transfer her {$2900.00} ( Two transactions {$1400.00} and {$1500.00} ) so that work equipment 's can be shipped. We did the XXXX transfer thinking that check has already been cleared since at Chase bank side nothing was showing as pending. Eventually we found out that company was a fraud and after the XXXX transfer chase informed us that check has bounced deducted {$2900.00} from our account leaving our account in negative. We became victim of fraud. We have already filed a complain with chase bank saying that why you confirmed us that check has been cleared. Based on the confirmation only we did the XXXX transfer. We help us getting our money back. We lost {$2900.00}. We can provide additional information if asked. Thank you

Consumer Complaint: XXXX ( {$7.00} ) and XX/XX/XXXX ( {$13.00} ) interest on statements In XX/XX/XXXX I signed up for a 0 % balance transfer promotion for 12 months on my existing Chase credit card. I transferred over approx {$1500.00} from another bank institution No purchases were made on the card until XX/XX/XXXX ( XXXX XXXX ) and that purchase was returned on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX when the statement closed, I was charged {$7.00} in interest and in XXXX I was charged another {$13.00}. This interest was on the returned purchase. Chase applied the ( returned ) credit to my promotional balance and as a result Im essentially paying interest on an item returned within one day. That is their policy per Chase and they agreed Im paying interest on a returned item. In speaking to two supervisors they were also unable to refunded the interest. My account has always been in good standing.
