Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Cashing a check

Consumer Complaint: I deposited a check of {$3400.00} into my chase account on XX/XX/23 but then suspended my account on XX/XX/23. XXXX did this without notifying me or trying to resolve it. Now my check is still on hold in my closed account and I cant get it because chase cant verify the maker of the check even though all the information is on the check. I even gave them other numbers associated with the company but none of the numbers register in chases system. I was also trying to inform chase that the check is under my maiden name and I have documentation to prove that. They were very rude on the phone and refused to help. Made me feel like a criminal. Its XX/XX/23, over a month and XXXX is still holding it. I need help please.

Issue: Managing an account

Subissue: Deposits and withdrawals

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I remotely deposited a check from XXXX ( XXXX ) to my checking account at the XXXX WV location. I was told it wouldn't clear until the XXXX. I was told the check cleared on the XXXX. On the XXXX I tried to pay a bill and the payment was denied. I was told the account was restricted because i had to prove the check was meant for me. The fraud department was involved in this. I had an in-bank meeting on the XXXX. It was very unpleasant. I was told if I closed the account I would receive a check from the bank in 5 to 7 business days. Nothing like that has happened. I have since contacted all Chase numbers i could find and also XXXX. XXXX sent me a letter describing my account and the delivery of the check to my address. They enclosed a copy of the front and back of the check with my signature and deposit information. The date on the copy shows the check cleared on XX/XX/XXXX.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement

Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX while in XXXX, XXXX, my family and I rode in a XXXX as a taxi ride. When we arrived, I was told that the fare was XXXX euros. The driver took my card, tapped it, and stated it didnt work. He showed me a failed screen and asked for another card. I did not have another one, and thus he argued with me but took cash from me and drove away quickly and angrily. I was not provided any receipt. I then logged into my Chase credit card account to see why it was declined. Thats when I saw a charge of {$3200.00}. I immediately called chase to alert them of the fraudulent charge and they did a chargeback. After about a month, they recharged me saying the merchant provided proof of the purchase. I re-disputed the claim to no avail because I do not have a receipt to prove I was incorrectly charged, as there is no way for me to get that receipt. A charge of {$3200.00} is extremely out of character based on my buying history while I was abroad, and they did not think it was suspicious for a {$3200.00} taxi ride and prevent it from going through. Chase bank is extremely dangerous to consumers if something happens to them and I strongly advise everyone to stay away from them at all costs. This is after having my card account hacked 3 times previously and then actually sending new cards out to unauthorized users.
