Consumer Complaint: JPMorgan Chase dba Chase Bank. ... A debit card was used to authorize or hold {$150.00} on XX/XX/XXXX. ( Hotel incidental hold ) .The hold was released by the merchant on XX/XX/XXXX. Consumer expected funds back in the account. Instead ; Chase recalculated the date to appear the hold was placed on XX/XX/XXXX instead of XX/XX/XXXX. Consumer contacts Chase reference the transaction ; where was the merchant authorization on XX/XX/XXXX or XX/XX/XXXX? Chase XXXX customer service representative stated that Chase changes the date of authorization each day without explanation as to why. Therefore, it makes it impossible for consumer to regain the funds back to the account within 3-5 business days of release from merchant. It makes the funds disappear from consumer account based on debit card usage vs. credit card. Debit card authorization uncollected by merchant, should be returned to consumer account upon release by the merchant. Chase provided no explanation or a resolution of this practice.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX Chase charged me XXXX XXXXXXXX {$100.00} in overdraft fees even though I previously told them not to honor charges if they balance could not support it. They did the same thing on XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX totaling another {$100.00}. I used ever feature available in their app to disable overdraft protection yet they persist in running this moneymaking scam. I told them the last time this happened that I did not want overdraft coverage and they removed the overdraft charges. Today they refused. They are STEALING MONEY FROM A XXXX PERSON ON A FIXED INCOME.

Consumer Complaint: I rented a car through XXXX in XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I agreed to {$1200.00} and signed a contract that stated that amount. The XXXX system was down the day I was renting a car so they printed out a piece of paper and wrote the details of the rental agreement on it rather than having a printed version like you normally would have. The agent suggested we should upgrade the car size due to the baggage we have and I said only if the cost stays relatively the same. On the written version of the contract she circled a price of {$1200.00}. When I got home, I noticed a {$4000.00} charge on my chase credit card. I immediately called Chase and told them this was incorrect. They said to speak to XXXX to get this resolved. I have been working with XXXX for over a month to try to dispute this but they send me a copy of the contract that was not signed by me ( a printed version ). They are unable to resolve my case and ask me to call XXXX directly. When I call XXXX to talk about the details, they state that they can not talk to me because a case is open and they will be in touch via email. I get an emailed response stating the case is closed and to take a survey. I thought credit cards were meant to protect you in fradulent cases like this, but Chase is not willing to get involved.

At the same time they increased my interest rate to a very high interest rate over 25 %. They did this without knowing my financial position. Based on what I make, I could never make these payments and now I can not make payments, the bank will not reduce my interest rate or balance. I have been unable to pay. I did not understand what they were doing until it was to late and now they are not willing to help or correct this issue.

Consumer Complaint: I have had much difficulty getting my credit card account closed with Chase. I finally got my credit card account with Chase closed and ended up with a credit balance of {$3.00}. I want this account XXXX XXXX out and Chase to pay me the {$3.00} they owe me. I have had to pay them many thousands of dollars of credit card interest over the last few years, and they always refused to lower my interest rate even though I was struggling financially especially after a layoff during COVID. Now that I have finally paid off this account they are refusing to mail me the {$3.00}. I called today Thursday XX/XX/2023 at about XXXX Arizona time after trying to resolve the issue using Chase 's website and XXXX app ( both said I had to call in to get Chase to send me the money they owe me- lol ). When I called in, a female answered who said she needed to re-open my account to mail me the {$3.00}. I find it dishonest that one of the largest financial institutions on the planet can not figure out how to mail me a check for {$3.00} after going through extensive security verification. After " putting me on hold '' to figure it out she and/or Chase disconnect the line and nobody at Chase made any attempt to call me back email me or message me through their app to apologize and/or get the issue resolved. I want Chase to mail me the {$3.00} immediately so this account has a XXXX balance. It should be noted that this is the second CFPB complaint about Chase in less than a month. I hope someone sues them for a large sum of money and wins. They are not abiding by federal or state financial institution laws and should be penalized.

Consumer Complaint: Dear CFPB, I am writing to file a complaint against Chase Bank for their mishandling of my dispute using various tactics. After receiving the item, I believe it does not justify its price. Consequently, I requested the seller to provide a free return label for a refund. However, neither the seller nor XXXX adhered to their promised " Free Return '' policy for after-sales service. Instead, they only provided an address for me to cover the return shipping cost. As a result, I initiated a dispute, seeking my bank 's assistance to take action against this unscrupulous seller and XXXX. I applied for the dispute over a month ago, and it was approved. Three weeks ago, I confirmed that it was still pending. However, today, one month later, when I contacted the bank again, they informed me that I need to provide more information. They insisted that I contact the seller to confirm whether the refund was part of the transaction. This is an absurd request, as the bank should know whether a refund is related to the transaction or not, and it should not require me to contact the seller for confirmation. Due to this unacceptable behavior, I have lost trust in Chase Bank, and as a protest, I have deactivated all my Chase bank cards. Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/2023, my family and I travelled to XXXX and decided to use our Chase credit card for purchases as protection against fraud. My husband used the card to purchase an item from a small market vendor that cost XXXX XXXX XXXX ( approx. {$220.00} USD ). The merchant charged our account {$3500.00} USD! This is INCORRECT and I believe deliberate. We did not see the fraudulent charge until we returned home to the US several days later. Friends that we were travelling with also had a similar incident happen to them at the same marketplace. We also had a local tour guide on another excursion warn us that this is a common scam that merchants are doing to tourists in XXXX. There is no question that this transaction is NOT ACCURATE! I have made 4 phone calls to Chase and two letters explaining the situation and the company continues to tell me that their investigation concludes that the {$3500.00} USD charge stands.

Consumer Complaint: Last month I needed a computer for work, so I purchased several parts on Amazon where my total cart was {$1600.00}. As it was a big amount I decided to use the equal pay plan that my amazon visa offers. The payment and plan went through flawlessly. I was prepared for the monthly payments that would amount to around {$130.00} a month, but to my surprise when I was checking my account to get ready for the payment the minimum payment was lower than expected. I looked into my statement and come to find out that two of the items equal to {$940.00} where not placed under the equal pay as they should have been. This I was not prepared for as I budget my money accordingly. I reached out to Amazon they told me that they should have been under equal pay as stated in my Amazon statement, so I should reach out to Chase to see why. I reach out to Chase they tell me that that's what Amazon sent them and they can't do anything about it unless I go under their own payment plan ( which makes me pay a fee ) or I need to contact Amazon. It went back and forth for a week of me trying to get to the bottom of why each company is not helping me. Finally on XX/XX/XXXX when I called Chase once again their representative tells me that he'll send a memo to Amazon to see what they can conclude on. I finally got a response yesterday where once again they tell me they can't do anything and it's Amazons fault. I decide to try Amazon again I finally reach a representative that tells me I'll get a refund for those items and should get a response in 3-5 days. This morning I got an email where they said they can't do anything and I need to contact Chase for help. I contact Amazon to ask why if they agreed to send me a refund they're now telling me to contact Chase. For the first time I get a representative that asks for screenshots of my bank statement. It clearly shows those two items are not in equal pay, but he ignores it and tells me it is. I decide to send him screenshots of the individual items where it says they're not in equal pay. He tells me to give him a moment and kid you not 2 minutes later he disconnects with me. Stunned by what just happened I connect with another agent that says she'll send an email to the same people that have not helped me. When i'm trying to tell her something she keeps copy pasting a response of " they'll reach out to you in 24 hours '' ( i've gotten this before they just direct me to Chase ) she spam pasted that 10 times and disconnected me. Now i'm here because I don't think what these two companies are doing is right. When they force me to pay 9 times what I was planning to not get any interest I was promised it makes my budget very tight as I need that money for food/gas/essentials/and other payments. Sorry for the long message and thank you.
