Consumer Complaint: I deposited a tax refund for XXXX dollars on XX/XX/XXXX using the chase app. On XX/XX/XXXX my account was completely restricted and I can not get access to my funds. I am currently out of town and dont have money for gas to get back home. My account was restricted because they need more information on my irs check which is at home and not in my possession. They offered no recourse to allow me to have access to my funds ( which have nothing to do with the pending check amount, they were in my account previously ) and were rude and cold. This is my second horrible experience with chase bank. I feel abused and like they have control over my hard earned money. Please help.

Consumer Complaint: My checking and saving accounts in Chase were closed on XX/XX/XXXX Monday. XXXX. First time I called the bank on XX/XX/XXXX to ask for reason and was told they will not tell me the reason and I will have to wait for XXXX business days before the check to be sent to me. XXXX. Second time I called and checked on XX/XX/XXXX to see details of customer agreement and try to expedite the release of my money because this is my only account, and all my money is inside. I have to pay the rent and bills. This time I was responded that Chase will send out my check before XX/XX/XXXX Thursday. So, I continued waiting. XXXX. Third time I called was XX/XX/XXXX Monday when I tried to check whether my check has been sent out and when can I get the money. This time I was told that Chase is investigating my fund and there is NO ESTIMATED time for them to give my money back. Until then, my inconvenience has lasted XXXX weeks and there is XXXX more days left for me to pay the rent. The Customer Agreement term Chase claimed that I authorize their rights to close my account says that " Either you or we may close your account ( other than a CD ) at any time for any reason or no reason without prior notice ''. BUT it did NOT authorize them the right to withhold my fund with UNLIMITED TIME. This is no difference to XXXX. Not to mention that Chase started their so-called " investigation '' without asking any information from me. From the beginning to the end, they suppress my right to speak. Cutting me off from any information or chance to protect my possessions by telling " There is nothing we can do ''. In addition to above information, during the third call, XXXX of the supervisors asked me what XXXX of my transactions in XXXX and XXXX were for. They are for my tuition fee and living expenses provided by my parents from international banks. Therefore, it is reasonable for me to believe that Chase 's investigation on my fund is totally unreasonable because they are more than normal for an international student in United States. To sum up, XXXX. There is no valid agreement to support their behavior of holding a lawful individual 's property without an estimated time ( this could be months or longer ). They did not clarify in the agreement that they will hold clients ' money after terminating service to the client. XXXX. My personal life is seriously damaged by their deeds : I could not go out anywhere, I could not buy food, I could not pay for the rent because this is the only account I have. ALL my money is inside. I have recently graduated in XXXX and started working on XXXX. My payroll deposit was declined as well because chase suddenly shut my account. XXXX. Chase has been extremely negative and avoiding conversation to me by saying " There is nothing they can do ''. It feels like there is an imaginary " investigation team '' that can not be called, or reached anywhere but they are taking all my money and making my life miserable. XXXX. I have been patient enough after they tell me there is XXXX business days to wait. If I let them go, this delay is never going to an end. XXXX. I assure that every transaction on my account were for normal schooling and living as an international student in United States. I did not participate in any money laundry activities. If they think an international transaction is abnormal, they should have investigated at the very beginning instead of firing a XXXX whenever they like.

Consumer Complaint: This transaction happened in the year I opened my account through my accountant at Chase Bank on XXXX in XXXX after I had been working there in XXXX as a teller and banker. I transferred my XXXX from the XXXX in XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX that I used to work at in college as well as some other XXXX and career and business earnings. The total was XXXX XXXX that I invested in my account. I was approached by a home developer who wanted me to invest in his housing and buy a neighborhood he had just built. I told him I would consider his business deal. So, I told the bank president I would like to complete this transaction with the builder. He was supposed to meet me at the bank but never showed up to finalize The president told me she would draft a contract or bill of sale for the neighborhood development which has the building company business name on it for a loan against my account from the bank entitling him to sign the completed contract and accept the money in my account. My ex husband and father of my XXXX children is currently working as a manager at the bank since I left, and he had the name on my account changed to the name of the builder. So I can not access my account, nor receive money nor make transfers and I believe this is an error because i was told that this was not going to happen as part of the loan process through the bank and its presidents office and I feel i am being violated as a customer by how and when I can spend my money. My checks are not being accepted anywhere and XXXX cant pay my property taxes or support myself. I am barely surviving.

Issue: Managing an account
Subissue: Problem making or receiving payments
Consumer Complaint: I have a checking account with Chase. I used their online bill pay to pay my mortgage each month. This month I made the mistake of selecting an old vendor for my mortgage. The account has not been active for several years. When I noticed that I selected the wrong payee I informed Chase of the error within 24 hours. They refused to stop payment on the payment. In fact they made the situation worse by stopping payment on my payment of my mortgage to the correct payee ( XXXX XXXX ) XXXX From that point I have called almost daily trying to get Chase to return the funds to my account. I have escalated the issue multiple times. But the bank refuses to act even though they acknowledge they can not ascertain how the funds were sent nor whom received the funds. They are somehow claiming they sent the money where I requested. Given that I responded almost immediately and can verify that I made consistent attempts to stop the payment this is an obviously false statement on their part. The crux of the issue I believe stems from their inability to determine how the money was sent. I was recently told that this was not done by ach transfer but by check. If thats the case then my efforts to stop the check should have been honored immediately. Their first and latest statement was that I should contact the recipient payee, XXXX. This is fraught with problems as well. I have not had an active account with them for several years. When I initially contacted them several weeks ago, they informed me that they had no record of my account. Apparently they leased the name of mortgage bank to another entity. That relationship no longer exists. They were not able to help me locate the funds and suggested I contact Chase to get them to start an investigation. Obviously, I had already done that. I have reached out to my current mortgage bank, XXXX XXXX, to see if they indeed received multiple payments from me this month. They said no. They did inform me that the institution that owned my mortgage previously was XXXX. I have now called and emailed each of these institutions. I have reached out to bank professionals and attorneys. Each advise me that the bank is obligated to return my funds. None of the institutions has done so.

Consumer Complaint: My Chase account was closed on XX/XX/XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX, I found that I could not log in the account, so I called the bank. They also did not specify what caused the accounts to close, only the bank 's decision. The first time I called, I told you to mail me the money in my account within ten days. But when I checked the next day, they said they weren't sure, the money in the account was locked, and they could only wait a week or two. On XX/XX/XXXX, I called Chase again, they said I need to wait until next Monday.
