Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2023 I received an email about an outstanding balance on my XXXX XXXX account that I owed. Since it was a chaege I was not familiar with I looked through my account and didn't find anything. My next step was to contact XXXX directly and ask ahout the details of the charge. They told me the charge could not be found in my account and that i should ignore the email. I kept getting email and phone calls so I contacted XXXX through their chat services on the XXXX app and they told me once again that the charge could not be found on my account and that it would be a potential scam, so I should ignore it. On XX/XX/2023 a letter was sent to my address about a debt collection with IC System XXXX XXXX stating that XXXX sent them my overdue balance to them for collection. At this time I contacted XXXX again and they said the charge is not found in my account. Finally, they reassured me that my account is in good standing so this charge does not belong to me. I do have messages from the chat and an email I received as confirmation for proof that the charge is not on my account as well, if they are needed.

Consumer Complaint: I, XXXX XXXX, hired XXXX XXXX by contract to install floors in my home. They installed the wrong color grout on my floors and incorrectly installed molding ( other issues aside ). I ask XXXX XXXX to fix this as per the contract, and made 7 appointments for XXXXXXXX XXXX to fix the problem. XXXX XXXX failed to make these appointments without notice before the appointment. I called XXXX XXXX the day before the last 3 appointments and confirmed the appointment with them, but they failed to show or notify me. For the last appointment, which I confirmed with them and I stated that I would dispute the charge of {$8400.00} if they did not show up. I had to take paid time of ( PTO ) for each of these appointments and had no PTO left to take off for additional appointments. I disputed the charge with my credit card company, XXXX XXXX XXXX, and after several communications and document exchanges they refunded me the charge. XXXX XXXX did not attempt to contact me or fix my floors per the contract until the charge of {$8400.00} was refunded. XXXX XXXX offered partial compensation for the floors, but the amounts they offered would not cover the cost. XXXX XXXX then sent the information to IC Systems who then registered it with the credit reporting agencies as an unpaid overdue debt. This is not a debt! It is a failure of a contractor to fulfill a contract. I disputed this debt with XXXX and they would not reverse it as they confirmed it as debt. As you can see by all the documentation that I provided, this should never have been reported to the credit agencies as a debt. XXXX was also sent all this information.

Consumer Complaint: on or about XX/XX/2023, I reviewed my consumer credit reports XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX XXXX and noticed collections on all three from a third-party collections agency so I decided to send them a debt validation letter requesting information on the so-called debt I requested the following. an original contract with a wet signature from the original creditor with a wet signature. the name address and and phone number of the original creditor. an itemized payment history associated with the account as to determine what is owed and/or that may be contested. proof of ownership of this debt and or whether they are even allowed to collect on this debt per law. I informed them they had 30 days to produce my request and or cease collection attempts and/or remove this from my consumer credit reports. during my 30-day wait, I discovered that this company via the NMLS that this company is not even licensed to do collections in the state of Iowa, whereas I am more than sure that the company has claimed numerous payments. I mailed this letter on XX/XX/2023, it has been about 50 days since I received what appears to be the last bill, with no itemized statement of the prior bill no original contract, and nothing on whether they are even allowed to collect this alleged debt they are not licensed in the state of Iowa.
