Issue: False statements or representation
Subissue: Attempted to collect wrong amount
Consumer Complaint: I was made aware of this collection through a credit monitoring service. When I checked my credit report it did not say who the original creditor was. I called the collection agency I.C System, Inc. and they notified me who the creditor was.. I asked the collection agency why the didn't make an attempt to notify me of the debt prior to reporting to the credit bureaus. The woman on the phone who was very rude said they received returned mail. They were sending the statements to the wrong address. However, they did have my correct email and phone number but made to attempt to make contact me that way. I had no knowledge of an outstanding bill with this creditor which was with a medical office as my insurance covered the treatment. I told the women I would contact them first. She again was very rude, was yelling asking me if I was going to pay the bill and I said, " No. '' I phoned the creditor and they notified me that I had a co-pay due from my treatments. They too had sent the bill to the wrong address but never called or emailed me to ask me for my correct address. The office manager realized that it was a mistake to send the account to collections and we made an agreement for me to pay the outstanding balance directly to them and they would call the collection agency to have the account removed from my credit report. I made the payment over the phone immediately. The collection agency reported the next day to XXXX XXXX and XXXX that the account was paid less then the amount owed which was incorrect. Then I received a receipt stating that I paid the debt directly to them which is incorrect. Then they reported to the Bureaus that the account is paid in full but they refuse to remove the account from at the request of the original creditor has made this request more then 6 times. They have said they can't according to the law. They have said they can't provide a letter stating the account will be removed according to the law. They have said if I dispute the account they will fight it. I have manage to get it removed from my XXXX credit report but I can't not get it removed from XXXX XXXX. They have been rude, given false information to me and the creditor numerous times, to the point I've hired a lawyer.

Consumer Complaint: The IC systems company has taken longer than 30 to resolve or respond to a dispute on my credit report causing me to look as if I am not responsible. This debt is from XXXX which is past the statute of limitation to report. I have been fixing my credit for 8 months and this company come and puts this information on my report as an open account. That is a false statement and a violation of the FCRA. IC systems and XXXX are playing the blame game with saying that they reported it to the bureaus to take it off and the informaation would be sent back to the original creditor. Well that never happened. I had plans to get a vehicle for the summer and got denied credit due to this erroneous informaation being reported and now I have lost points and credibility. My integrity and my character has been blemished due to the negligence of this company. I spoke to XXXX on Friday XXXX XXXX and he stated that there will be a letter sent to XXXX to update the information and the account should be removed. It has not been done til this XXXX day of XXXX. There were 2 accounts that were charged off and were reported as open accounts. This has caused me grief during the pandemic crisis. I have worked so hard to get my credit in good standings and for this company decides to put erroneous information on my report and now my rates are shooting out the roof with high interest rates. I am paying more my mortgage than I have to due to my credit score being lower than it suppose to be. I lost total of XXXX points for the negligence of this company, I want this company and XXXX to pay for the damages for my pain and suffering. I spoke to XXXX and they stated that they never recieved notification to remove this account. At this point I have lost time that I can not get back.

These are the dates I have and the amounts. XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$520.00} and the other one is for XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$740.00}.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020, I submitted a CFPB complaint against IC System, Inc for reporting a trade line on my XXXX credit report that does not belong to me. As a result of the complaint, IC System closed the account and deleted the trade line from my credit report. Once again, IC System is reporting the exact same trade line on my XXXX credit report. I have attached the company 's response to my first complaint.

Consumer Complaint: I have sent three letters to each credit bureau disputing a new collection on my credit report. I have even included a previous settlement letter and they still continue to report the collection from XX/XX/2020, IC systems. This account was settled by the first collection agency who settled the account for less than full balance, credence resource management. The original creditor was XXXX XXXX XXXX. IC system is the second collections agency. I have tried calling XXXX, XXXX, and IC systems ... their lack of communication has kept this inaccurate information on my credit report. I have just disputed a third time on this account through the credit bureau. I have also sent the proper documents of settlement to IC systems showing the account number for XXXX XXXX XXXX as settled. They clearly can not read account numbers! The bureaus have done the same, they have deliberately overlooked the paper I have sent in with each dispute. I also am working with the Michigan attorney general in this matter! Is it illegal to collect on a debt twice, once the first collection agency settled on a specified amount? How did IC systems get this info to try to charge me the difference?

Consumer Complaint: I'm writing because I noticed a collection account listed under IC Systems Collections that lists on my XXXX and XXXX Credit Reports. I have never a letter of dispute notice from this company and or phone call. I have recently disputed this account with the credit bureaus and it has no message underneath the collection with the account being under dispute. This is in violation of the FCRA and this account needs to be removed from my accounts as soon as possible.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX provided service to California home I sold in XXXX. My service was paid until I sold the home and moved. Obviously, any service provided after that date was for the new owner. Attempts to correct this issue with XXXX were futile and, as a result, I stopped using XXXX for any service. XXXX has engaged one collection agency after another over the 19 year period the last of which was IC System opened XX/XX/XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I cancelled service with XXXX XXXX XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX on the basis of No Contract allowing cancellation at any time. I received a bill from XXXX that covered the period of XX/XX/XXXX thru XX/XX/XXXX. Only 3 days not 31 days of service was actually provided. I was contacted by a collection agency ( XXXX XXXX XXXX of XXXX. TX ). I sent them a dispute letter and a check for the amount which I considered owed {$17.00} ( XX/XX/XXXX X {$180.00} = {$17.00} ) as payment in full. They never responded to this letter or cashed the check. When I followed up with the phone call to ask what the status was and why I didn't hear a follow-up to my dispute, they said that the account is cleared and I owed nothing. Several months later I received a duplicate collection notice from a second company, I.C. System, Inc of XXXX XXXX, MN dated XX/XX/XXXX. Following dispute an " Account Validation '' was received from IC System which said {$180.00} is still owed. Package contained a series of statements that indicates that regular full payments were always made on-time with the exception of the last bill which is in dispute. It also included a statement subsequent to this last bill that indicates that total amount was fully written off by XXXX. Accordingly validation shows nothing is currently owed and a revised statement to reflect this should be provided.
