Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute
Consumer Complaint: I received an alert from the credit bureaus that this collection account was added to my credit report on XX/XX/XXXX. When I logged into my credit monitoring service the information listed reflects that the collection agency I C System, located at XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX MN, XXXX. Phone XXXX states that the partial account number XXXX was opened with them on XX/XX/XXXX in the amount of {$530.00} and that the original debtor is XXXX XXXX. I have never heard of this debt collector prior today. I have not been contacted or notified of any debt that has been listed with this company. They sent me no correspondence advising that they own the debt, who the creditor was nor advised of my option to dispute the debt. I called the company 4 times today ... ( Calls were recorded )! To find out more information and to dispute the account. I was transferred amongst departments, no information was given. They attempted to fraudulently ask other questions not pertaining to the debt like if I'd moved in the last 12 months, what my previous phone numbers were, if I'd used any other name variations besides my actual name, if I've married or divorced any aliases I might have used and other unprofessional questions rather than just to advise me what the debt was for. I felt insulted and harassed. The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act states that a debt collector must send the consumer a written notice containing the amount of the debt, name of the creditor and a statement stating they have 30 days to dispute the validity of the debt or the debt will be considered valid by the debt collector. Failure by the consumer to dispute the debt within that 30-day time period is not considered an admission of liability. If the agency doesn't follow this process then they have no rights or grounds to collect or report the debt to any credit bureaus and must immediately remove the debt from the consumers credit report. The company didn't contact me within 30 days of assuming the debt and has therefore violated my rights so this needs to be removed from all 3 credit bureaus! I do NOT give the company permission to contact me via telephone, an employer, email or any other means except by US Mail.

Consumer Complaint: A balance due of {$180.00} appeared on my credit report in XX/XX/2020. I have disputed this twice through the credit bureaus as I have no knowledge of this account or the balance due. IC Systems simply responded that it meets FCRA Requirements. I have no idea what this charge is for. I never received a bill or communication in the mail, it just appeared out of no where on my credit report. I require proof be provided that this balance due belongs to me. I also require the delinquency date and that this be removed from all three credit bureaus for failure to provide proof that this is my bill and for failure to notify me by mail before reporting to the credit bureaus.

Consumer Complaint: ACCOUNT WAS PAID OFF AND I WAS TOLD THAT IT WOULD BE DELETED! PLEASE HELP! - I was shocked when I reviewed my credit report this week and I found multiple inaccuracies on my credit report from the 3 major credit bureaus from a collection company that I never have dealt with before. I've attempted several times to ratify the issue with the original creditors and credit bureaus and they still reporting inaccurate, unverifiable information. I have disputed this item with the credit reporting agency and they reported you confirmed the account as valid. I honestly do not believe to ever have any relationship with this collection agency or original creditor. Also there are several inaccuracies with this account the way it's reporting and that's a total violation of FCRA and FDCPA laws and regulations. In a good faith effort to resolve the matter amicably, I must demand proof of this debt, specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature, as well as proof of your authority in this matter. Absent such proof, you must correct any erroneous reports of this past debt as mine. I am writing to request that you please provide the following information : 1. Please evidence your authorization under 15 USC 1692 ( e ) and 15 USC 1692 ( f ) in this alleged matter. 2. What is your authorization of law for your collection of information? 3. What is your authorization of law for your collection of this alleged debt? 4. Please evidence your authorization to do business or operate in this state. 5. Please evidence proof of the alleged debt, including the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature. 6. Please provide a complete account history, including any charges added for collection activity. You have 30 days upon receipt of this letter to provide strict proof of contract. In the event you can not provide strict proof of contract, you must cease and desist any and all collection efforts and immediately remove any derogatory information reported to the consumer reporting agencies. In addition, you will need to provide me your agreement, in writing, that you are closing your file, ceasing collecting activity, and deleting all information related to this reference number from any and all credit reports youve furnished the information to. In the event you transfer this account to an attorney without providing proof of contract, and proving your claim, he/she will be immediate reported to the XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX for code of ethics violations.

Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we are all facing which has me sitting still at home and I saw the recent news about the multiple XXXX Data breaches. I decided to look at my credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. Consumer Complaint: Date : XX/XX/2020 Amount : {$2700.00} Action : I sent a letter and I asked for a request for proof of a contract to substantiate your claim. I asked to provide me with a certified copy of an original contract, with my signature, specifically naming your company as a person entitled to enforce a commercial claim against me. Certification can be done through the presence of a notary public, who duly swears the copy made is, in fact, a copy of the original paper contract in question. I did not request for an accont validation, and they sent me a account validation.

Consumer Complaint: I canceled my internet service with XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX. I returned the equipment on XX/XX/XXXX in its XXXX office with a Receipt No. of XXXX. XXXX sent me to a collection agency, I.C.System, Inc. ( ICS ) under Reference No. XXXX, two years later. I never received any correspondence from XXXX prior to this collection letter about the fact that XXXX has not received the equipment from me. I called ICS today, XX/XX/XXXX, and told the representative I do not owe XXXX anything because I returned the equipment. She said that if I do not pay, that come XX/XX/XXXX, I will see a negative report on my credit history. She did not ask about any other information, or if I have any proof of returning the equipment. I then called XXXX and spoke to XXXX, XXXX ( XXXX 's supervisor ), and XXXX ( ID XXXX, XXXX 's supervisor ). All three of them said, the best they can do is send an email to see if they can find the equipment. They can not really contact the collection agency or stop the negative report on my credit history. I can just dispute the negative credit report from the three credit agencies once it shows on my history.
