Issue: Written notification about debt

Subissue: Didn't receive notice of right to dispute

Consumer Complaint: In the beginning XX/XX/2020 I received a notification on my credit report of a collections debt from IC System. I didn't know what the debt was about because I did not receive any mail pertaining to this. I called and was told it was from XXXX bill owed. I have never had a XXXX account and know nothing of this debt. I proceeded to write a letter on XX/XX/XXXX and sent via certified mail to ask them to verify the debt and explained to them I do not have an account number because I was never given a letter. They wrote me back saying they needed an account number to verify the debt and that the account number can be found on their website. I was able to obtain the account number and sent another letter on XX/XX/XXXX with their letter and my original letter as requested by them via certified mail and again asked them to verify the debt within 30 days and if not to delete this off my credit. They received the letter on XX/XX/XXXX and to date I have not received a verification of the debt and it has not been removed from my credit report.

Issue: Took or threatened to take negative or legal action

Subissue: Threatened or suggested your credit would be damaged

Consumer Complaint: When I had XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) I HAD to move, PER DOCTORS ORDERS, and requested my service be moved. They tried to charge me {$350.00}, just to move my service. Not because I wanted to move but, because it was MEDICALLY necessary for me to do so. I refused to pay that amount, returned their equipment, and terminated my service. I received an outlandish bill initially. When I called and spoke to upper management, my complaint/case was escalated. I never heard from them again. Then, this ICS Systems popped up on my credit ( XXXX ), I was told I could pay 30 % and it would go away or, I could continue to let it affect my credit ... I filed a complaint and they won ... Ive had NO CONTACT WITH THEM or XXXX XXXX in years. Recently, I applied for credit ( after 6 years of on time payments ) and was denied due to a recent non payment/late payment so, they took it upon themselves to affect my credit all these years later even though I believed and stated, my initial request to move service was and shoulda been protected by Americans with Disabilities moreover, a company courtesy under the circumstances with a DOCTORS order. I would like these people to stop reporting this as a recent non payment and Id also like to know how or if it can be removed under any Disability Act.

Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed

Subissue: Debt was paid

Consumer Complaint: There was not an option specifically tailored to my needs. I had a {$100.00} balance with a utility provided after I ended services with them. It was missed and on XX/XX/XXXX I received an alert from XXXX. I pay all my bills on the XXXX of each month, and included it to be addressed and paid in full on XX/XX/XXXX. I.C Systems reported the same collection 5 times to my credit, resulting an a credit score decrease of 24 points. All the while I am in the process of increasing a business credit line. 24 points is detrimental to a business owner, and reporting the same collection 5 times in one month should not be allowed, and should not effect someone's credit score that dramatically.
