Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: IC Systems is blatantly in violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ( HIPPA ). I have reached out to them directly as they have willfully chosen to share private information associated with my medical care, medical history and transaction with several consumer reporting agencies without ever having my consent. Additionally, this company is in direct violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act 15 USC 1681a ( d ) ( 3 ) which explicitly states any medical information and individualized lists or descriptions based on the payment transactions must be excluded from my consumer report. This company is violating this federal law with impunity and needs to be held accountable immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I moved out of an apartment where I had XXXX internet and cable service. It was month to month with no contract. I moved in Late XXXX, early XX/XX/XXXX. I made my last payment XX/XX/XXXX. I have an email thanking me for the payment. I called to disconnect the service and was given instructions to return the equipment to avoid additional charges. I returned to a XXXX store in XXXX, Ga. I called back to confirm receipt of the equipment and no outstanding balance. I was told there isn't a balance " at this time '', and they could see where the equipment was received in. I provided a forwarding address, and they had my email and phone number since XXXX. I have not received anything more than promotional emails from XXXX until today XX/XX/XXXX getting an alert that my credit report changed. I looked at it and there was a collection from I.C. Systems with an approx. {$250.00} balance. I called to verify and was explained that it was from XXXX. I explained everything stated above to them but they were only interested in collecting the debt, even offering a settlement. I told them I didn't feel that it was correct. And if there is was a balance, I should have been notified prior to it being placed on my credit as a collection. I have had no notice of a past due balance for the entire time. This has to be some type of violation of consumer rights. It places a negative impact on my credit report and it is a unfounded charge that they mysteriously generated after almost 2 years, without notice.

Consumer Complaint: Hello, I have been trying to get this problem fixed since XX/XX/2021 with XXXX and XXXX and these reporting company hasn't sent me ANYTHING regarding this alleged debt. They haven't verified this XXXX Company debt and they haven't sent me any documents that i asked for or anything. So i am so confused who will be able to help me get this removed. Also the debt collector is I C SYSTEM and also hasn't notified me in any way ( 15 usc 1692g ) variolating my rights and keeping me in the dark I'm starting to feel like they are knowingly reporting false information and they wont fix it. It is really stressing me out since it's really been over 100 days of me trying, calling, and sending in disputes yet this XXXX Account is still on my report for no reason. They have violated so many consumer laws it is crazy. 15 united states code 1681 ( i ) ( a ), 1681 ( i ) ( 2 ) ( a ), 1681e ( b ) are just a couple and it should be deleted off my report immediately. Or else I will be forced to litigation since they seem to not be compliant with the law. 15 usc 1681n for willful noncompliance.

Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: The company did not send enough information verifying the legitimate balance of the debt. What they mailed to me showed a written-off balance of {$0.00} from the original creditor. After speaking to counsel, I decided to settle the debt vs. it remaining on my credit report while we continue to dispute it. We agreed on a settlement amount for deletion, but now the company refuses to provide a letter based on our agreement after I processed the payment. They are stating that I have to wait 30-45 days and callback before they would consider generating a letter confirming our agreement, and now I don't feel comfortable or confident that they are going to hold up to their end of the bargain.
