Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt was paid
Consumer Complaint: I'm made an agreement with IC Systems to settle an account. I spoke with three different people and all assured me on a recorded line that the collection would be removed from my credit report within 30-45 days of the account being settled. I made The last payment on XX/XX/XXXX, on XX/XX/XXXX, IC Systems closed the account which now shows as " Settled-less than full balance ''. I have the names of the three individuals that I spoke with written down at home but I can remember one name off the top of my head, XXXX XXXX. I feel that I was like to and give him false promises to collect this amount.

Consumer Complaint: As a third-party intervener this company has negatively impacted me as a consumer. Pursuant to federal law They have committed fraud and several violations of the FDCPA and TILA. They are now threatening me for an alleged debt that they claim I owe. I never received a Material Disclosure of any of the information that was supposed to be provided to me. they have taken an unfair advantage of me as a consumer, and they should be held accountable for deceiving me and not validating the debt. They have not validated anything ; they have ruined my character and general reputation by reporting erroneous information on my consumer report and included a symbol on the contents of the envelope for the mail courier or any person affiliated with the postal service or comes in contact with the envelope that alleges I owe a debt. Theyve act as if they are unaware of what I am requesting or that the law does not apply to them and I've included evidence and proof, pursuant to federal law with facts that prove that the law does apply to them and that they must adhere to them. They have not provided me with any original documents, and they have disregarded the law by saying, they do not have to provide me with anything except billing statements or applications, which is not proof of validation or proof that I owe anything. They are also claiming that they must report information to the credit bureaus, however cfpb handbook 3.1.1 furnishers incentives and decentives states- reporting to credit bureaus and other consumer agencies by creditors is voluntary and historically has been. Furnishers have multiple incentives to contribute data to NCRA one of which is for borrowers to make timely repayments. Their willful non-compliance has damaged my reputation as well as my credit file

Consumer Complaint: My husband and I applied to refinance our home. In the credit report, they advised that there was a collection for a debt for XXXX thru IC Systems for {$1500.00} that I needed to take care of. I contacted the company, IC Systems, and the representative told me I needed to pay them as XXXX reported the debt as unpaid. I needed to contact the previous debt collection agent, XXXX XXXX, XXXX. I contacted XXXX XXXX and they were absolutely NO HELP. Representative told me that they reported the debt paid to XXXX and it wasn't their problem. In the interim, IC Systems continues to contact me stating that the debt is still owed to them. I have sent the receipts from XXXX XXXX to XXXX Credit Reporting Service to show that the debt was paid and to remove from my credit. IC Systems refuses to remove this debt from my credit - they insist it isn't their problem. Despite having receipts showing debt is paid - neither company will assist in getting this debt removed from my credit.

Consumer Complaint: I've been disputing this debt for years. The debt was nowhere near the amount reported. I desputed this amount with XXXX and they couldn't explain why the amount was inflated. The debt keeps getting bought by different agencies and none will actually look into amount owed and will not offer an explanation except that the amount is correct and continue to reject my disputes. The amount is more than double the original amount owed.
