Consumer Complaint: I requested to join XXXX XXXX XXXX on their website on XX/XX/XXXX, and they sent me XXXX cards for my devices. I did not receive the XXXX cards and requested via online chat for XXXX XXXX to cancel my order and close the account on XX/XX/XXXX. I received email confirmation that my request to cancel was initiated. I decided to try in-store to create my account with XXXX XXXX instead XXXX I went to the store on XX/XX/XXXX and was told that there was still an active account preventing me from opening a new account and was told to try over the phone with XXXX XXXX customer service. On the phone with customer service, I was told until the first account is completely purged from their system, I could not open a new account. My case was forwarded to a supervisor, I was told. I called back a few days later as instructed and was able to open my new account with XXXX XXXX ( which I currently maintain and pay the bill monthly on time ). I was told that whatever account was active before is no longer open and was resolved. In XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter of collection from XXXX, XXXX XXXX ' collection agency. I called XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX and explained the situation. I was told that the issue would be forwarded for review and instructed to call back. XXXX 's hours are during my work hours, and it is not easy for me to call each day. XXXX never made any attempt to contact me of their findings or any further action of debt collection. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a notification of change to my credit report for a negative report made on behalf of XXXX XXXX. I contacted XXXX on XX/XX/XXXX where I was told that their review determined that the debt was valid?! And that because I did not follow up with them after the initial call, they forwarded my debt to IC Systems?! This business practice is very unprofessional. I do not owe anything as I cancelled the XXXX XXXX account within 6 days of requesting it, without any services rendered. I have recently contacted IC Systems and filed a dispute with them on their website, however, they have not allowed for me to upload my proof of documentation. This is a farce, and XXXX XXXX is ruining my credit for an error on their end.
