Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: I had a bogus collection on all 3 of my credit reports. I filed disputes with all 3 credit bureaus by certified mail. Experian is the sole credit reporting agency that still recognizes the debt. After multiple attempts at contacting them I have been forced to file this complaint. The collection showing on my Experian account is from a company called XXXX XXXX. I never did business with these people and I expressed that this was a case of fraud in my dispute. Also Experian is incorrectly showing that XXXX other accounts are late but closed and paid. The accounts can't be both late and closed. I paid off the accounts and closed them, however this is not reflected on Experian. Thank you to whoever reads and investigates this matter. I really appreciate your time and attention.

Consumer Complaint: I reached out to Experian in regards to inaccurate reportings pertaining to addresses\employer information, the reporting of my transactions history on the credit report and also an inquiry that is on the report.. I spoke with a representative, XXXX, in which I expressed that I wanted all inaccurate addresses & employers removed because they are non mailing addresses and they are also not my employer. I noticed the transaction history and an inquiry that was on my report as well. I received the results from the dispute back and noticed on the dispute report the transaction history, inquiry history are still on my report and also a non mailing address was left on the report as well. I called and spoke with a representative who advised a manager would be calling back within 48-72 hours. I also asked the representative where they get this information from? I was then told Experian receives their information from non affiliates ( third parties ) and Experian is also sharing and receiving information non affiliates as well! Not only did Experian violate my rights under the Privacy Act of 1974 but also all this information should have been removed due to 15 USC 1681. Experian also is violating their own Privacy Right to Correct : You have the right to request correction of inaccurate personal information that Experian maintains about you. The law states it is illegal to report Transactions History ( which has not been updated on my report ).
