Consumer Complaint: My information was sold/bought illegally because I was a victim of the Equifax Breach of 2007 and my credit file continues to suffer from this breach. Equifax has admitted that I was in fact a victim of this data breach ( see attached proof ) and Equifax has done nothing or made it impossible to obtain a remedy when fraudulent activity has occurred in my credit files. I've been disputing inquiries that I never made ( written dispute : XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX - plus various other disputes related to inquiries that were filed online ) to Equifax and require your assistance in removing these illegal inquiries from my credit reports. Each time I have disputed this information, Equifax has failed to provide proof of the permissible purpose authorization and fails to investigate the dispute.
