Issue: Problem with a company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: In mid-XXXX 2023 I received a notification from my credit monitoring service stating that one of my accounts was being reported delinquent. Upon evaluating my credit report I identified the source of the delinquent account information to be my XXXX credit card. I could not understand how this was possible, since I had set up autopay on that account directly on the XXXX website several years ago and the monthly minimum payments were always withdrawn from my checking account with XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX . When I contacted XXXX about this issue the representative told me that the issue was the result of IT system failures as a result of systemwide data migration of their system, and that other customers were likewise impacted ( their autopay was also dropped ). I immediately brought my account balance to XXXX. The person that I initially talked to at XXXX was XXXX XXXX , a Resolution Specialist at the XXXX Contact Center . XXXX XXXX assured me that the dispute would be resolved but then she sent me an email stating that the company would not be correcting my credit report. I was shocked by this outcome since the missed payments were not the result of anything I did or failed to do. I then decided to escalate my complaint to a Resolution Manager at XXXX, who took the information but has not been able to resolve the issue. The managers name is XXXX XXXX. XXXX credit card acct number XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, MD XXXX ( As a XXXX XXXX XXXX who was impacted by a data breach of XXXX Im enrolled in credit monitoring service. )

Consumer Complaint: In accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act everything has to be 100 % accurate on my credit report. The listed accounts below violated my federally protected consumer rights .The Credit bureaus have stated a proper investigation was performed but I find this to not be accurate or possible, the open dates are inaccurate, the dates last active are inaccurate, and dates last reported are not accurate, these are grounds for removal. On XXXX i sent a letter regarding the inaccurate and unknown things on my credit report. To this day over 30 days later I have not received any response. I feel like I've been taken advantage of and also being ignored. Section 611 ( a ), it's plainly stated that a failure to investigate these items within 30 days gives reasons to immediately remove these items from my credit report. It has been over 30 days so they should be deleted promptly. I demand these accounts be deleted immediately or I will file for litigation due to the stress caused in this process. The credit Bureaus also violated 15 usc 1681 section 623 ( 9 ) ( b ) ( 2 ) The credit bureaus are supposed to complete all investigations before the expiration of the period under section 611 ( a ) ( 1 ). The credit Bureaus also violated my rights under 15 U.S.C 1681 section 604 A Section 2 : The law clearly states a consumer reporting agency can not furnish an account without my written instructions. I haven't given these accounts written permission to furnish these accounts on my credit report In accordance with the fair debt collection practices Act. Issue: Problem with fraud alerts or security freezes
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I discovered upon logging into my online account at Equifax that credit freeze I placed previously has been lifted without my authorization. An agent stated that someone with my personal information called in and made a verbal request to lift a credit freeze. Also made an update on my fraud alert to remove my primary phone number from the alert system. The agent was able to escalate the case to upper team to further investigate but did not provide any solution to further protect my account. I asked for extra layers of security such as two step authentication or verbal password but they denied such services are not available.
