Consumer Complaint: Midland is reporting in my credit file however it is inaccurate because it was said to be late, yet all the payments are OK. I do not think that this is mine. I did my research on what to do because it is affecting my scores to badly, I asked for documents, disclosure and where did the account come from but they failed to provide me, so I came online and researched. The plaintiff is asking the same thing that I wanted and at the end of it all the plaintiff won this case. I am talking about the Texas VS Midland Funding Case. I have learned that Midland claims to have a disclosure and an agreement that there is a Consumer Agreement for all who they are collecting from. I guarantee you that there is no such thing that I have agreed upon to.

Consumer Complaint: When I was a XXXX XXXX year old, I opened a XXXX XXXX XXXX credit card mid to late 2015 ( oldest recovered statement XX/XX/15 ) : my first ever credit card and I failed like most young adults. I initially made reasonable charges and paid my debt on time, working at XXXX as an Associate Stylist. But after taking on more liabilities than I could handle, I leaned on my credit card irresponsibly. Sadly I ended up losing my job, my debt compounded interest & fees and I was stuck owing {$2900.00}. Honestly, this amount of debt overwhelmed me, I wasn't able to pay my debt with {$0.00} income, and I didn't know what to do. So out of pure adolescent ignorance, I became paralyzed with fear and I let it sit ; as my debt was then overtaken by Midland Funding. One day their representation pulled up in a SUV in front of my house and served me a subpoena to appear in court. If their intention was to frighten me, it worked! So I showed up to court as asked, we discussed and afterwards I waited to hear back. Soon after, I moved to a new place of residence and lost track of the status of the case. I don't remember receiving further updates. Overall, I wasn't equipped to deal with this circumstance properly and I ended up in deep trouble. However, I do understand that I am still held accountable for my negligence. So CFPB, I appreciate the opportunity to reconcile my professional relationship with Midland Funding and XXXX because I will prove trust worthy with lenders by borrowing responsibly and paying back promptly moving forward.

Consumer Complaint: I started receiving phone calls from someone last summer claiming that I owe a debt for a XXXX purchase of {$1700.00} for a account that I never even applied for. I told them that I do not have a XXXX account and this must be fraud. They asked me if I disputed the charge? I said I was disputing it because I never applied for this credit. A few months later i received a notice from a Midland Credit Management company. I Called them and asked when this account was opened and what did I purchase and from who? They told me It was opened XX/XX/2019 but they have no details about what it was for just that they were attempting to collect a debt. Last XXXX I received another collection letter saying that the debt has been investigated and I am responsible for it. I did not apply for this account I never received any bills or any kind of notification from a XXXX account. But they claim I opened it and made the charge the same day. I did not have any idea that this account was opened no statements emails or anything till they started calling and told me I was delinquent on paying XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: Midland Credit Management contacted my home phone number. I did not answer nor was I home. My mother answered the phone and the collector assumed that it was me that answered, addressed my mother by my name, and proceeded to tell my mother about the debt and that there is a potential lawsuit. There was an apparent aggressive tone and my mother stated that she had to talk over the person to tell her that she was not me. The collector never asked for any SPII to confirm that she was speaking to the correct person. My mother did not share any other details of the conversation other than the collector asking for additional contact information for me or husband ( which I do not have ). The call was received on XX/XX/2021 at approximately XXXX EST.

Consumer Complaint: Midland Credit Management Inc ( MCM ) XXXX I received a letter from Midland with an attempt to settle a debt in the end of XX/XX/XXXX in which I immediately sent a validation of this debt to on XX/XX/XXXX. Certified receipt of the item was XX/XX/XXXX which is attached. Clearly stated what I wanted the Collection agency to verify. There was no response so I sent another letter stating there was no response on XX/XX/XXXX and that they failed to validate within 30 days of my letter sent. Mid to late XXXX I got a letter from Midland to let them know what I am disputing which was clearly made in the 2 first letters sent and they have ignored my request. XX/XX/XXXX I have sent an estoppel for clearly ignoring my requested information which they still have not provided.
