Consumer Complaint: I explained on several occasions that these accounts they have on me are not of my knowledge. They put liens on my old house. Would call and harassed me all the time. Tried calling me at work. They would even call me at XXXX at night. They sent me some copys of these accounts that looked liked previous bills? They had the information of the company and what appeared to be addressed to addresses I never have recognized? They said I owed but had no proof that these are indeed my accounts? I had no knowledge of these accounts or contract with them but they are still on my report and they are still harassing me about them.

Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: I am a victim of Identity Theft. The account # XXXX you listed on my consumer credit reports in the amount of {$3300.00} is fraudulent and is a result of Identity Theft. This account has no association to me as I never had a XXXX XXXX account and this is a direct result of Identity Theft. Furthermore, according to my current XXXX XXXX Report and other sources, there has been a civil lawsuit files against me in XXXX XXXX Case # XXXX by Midland Credit Management. Midland Credit Management has failed to verify the debt and follow the debt collection policies under the Federal Law Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ). This is a direct violation of my rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ). Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act ( FCRA ) and the Federal Law Fair Debt Collection Practices Act ( FDCPA ), you are required by State and Federal laws to cease all debt collection, and remove these fraudulent accounts reported on my consumer credit report. Also enclosed is a copy of the Notice to Furnishers issued by the Federal Trade Commission, which details your responsibilities under the Fair Credit Reporting Act as an information furnisher to CRAs. The Notice also specifies your responsibilities when you receive notice from a CRA, under section 605B of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, that information you provided to the CRA may be the result of identity theft. Those responsibilities include ceasing to provide the inaccurate information to any CRAs, and ensuring that you do not attempt to sell or transfer the fraudulent debts to another party for collection.

Consumer Complaint: Debt that is not mine was assigned to Midland Credit. I have spent months writing and asking for copies of documents. I never get a reply. Because I am considering federal employment, I need to get this taken care of. On XX/XX/2021 I sent {$500.00} as a full settlement of the matter with a letter that said if Midland Credit Management accepted the money, it would be settled. I am attaching a copy of the letter here. In the letter I am very specific to say that if they did not agree to the settlement, then they should send the payment back. They accepted the payment as evidenced by the letter they sent me, also attached. Copies of the money order and the mail receipt are also attached.
