Consumer Complaint: Midlan Credit has fraudulent account in my name claiming I owe them XXXX as of 2021 which is not correct I do not own this company any money nor do I have an active contract or account with this company. This company has illegally bought, sold and traded my personal information to obtain a debt not owed to them. They were notified upon them contacting me that this was a fraudulent account and they threatened me saying I better pay them XXXX that I did not owe them and ruined my credit and I am seeking a remedy to make me whole from the damages that Midland Credit fraudulent reported to all 3 Credit Bureaus. XXXX notified me of the issue and this has costed me hundreds to thousands of dollars in damages. I am requesting this company leave me and my credit alone.

I have proof from XXXX XXXX XXXX that I mailed to dispute center for midland. I have bank statement too. I have a second copy that debt was paid in full yet midland says otherwise but yet has not done anything more to tell me what else to do or besides the debt I already paid and dont owe anymore and has yet to give me information besides send to dispute center mail. Which I did. I havent even received calls from Midland anymore trying to collect either.

Consumer Complaint: I am filing this complaint because Midland Credit Management ignored my request to provide me COMPLETE documents - specifically the contract I signed obligating me to this alleged debt. Or how about the proof of identity that I must have provided at the time of incurring this debt, as this company is required to obtain this identification per the Patriot Act. Being that they have gone past the 30 day mark and can not verify these accounts under Section 611 ( 5 ) ( A ) of the FCRA- they are required to. Promptly delete all information which can not be verified. Please resolve this manner as soon as possible thank you

I've sent multiple letter to the credit bureaus to remove. 15 U.S. Code 1681- Congressional findings and statement of purpose ( a ) Accuracy and fairness of credit reporting The Congress makes the following findings : ( 1 ) The banking system is dependent upon fair and accurate credit reporting. Inaccurate credit reports directly impair the efficiency of the banking system, and unfair credit reporting methods undermine the public confidence which is essential to the continued functioning of the banking system. ( 2 ) An elaborate mechanism has been developed for investigating and evaluating the credit worthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, and general reputation of consumers. ( 3 ) Consumer reporting agencies have assumed a vital role in assembling and evaluating consumer credit and other information on consumers. ( 4 ) There is a need to insure that consumer reporting agencies exercise their grave responsibilities with fairness, impartiality, and a respect for the consumers right to privacy. ( b ) Reasonable procedures It is the purpose of this subchapter to require that consumer reporting agencies adopt reasonable procedures for meeting the needs of commerce for consumer credit, personnel, insurance, and other information in a manner which is fair and equitable to the consumer, with regard to the confidentiality, accuracy, relevancy, and proper utilization of such information in accordance with the requirements of this subchapter.
