Issue: Attempts to collect debt not owed
Subissue: Debt is not yours
Consumer Complaint: Beginning in XXXX of XXXX I reached out to Midland Credit to request information pertaining to a debt showing on my credit report that I did not recognize. I requested information and validation of the debt and did not receive any information or correspondents. I sent multiple letters and did not receive any of the requested information. In XXXX of XXXX I started receiving court paper and learned that i was being sued for an account I had no knowledge of. The Lawyer of XXXX XXXX provided me with a little information pertaining and advise me to speak with the lawyer that actually has my case as he was just feeling in. I attempted to reach out to the lawyer with no success. I received documents on XX/XX/XXXX and immediately called the number listed as there were multiple discrepancies with the information listed. The number listed was for Midland credit directly instead of the lawyer. The midland rep stated that she would have the lawyer contact me after we both found some discrepancies as well as Midland shows all my letters that were set to them. I have never applied for a credit card account with XXXX bank. The information they have including the credit cards and bill was sent to my old address on XXXX in XXXX in XXXX. I moved from that address in XXXX. This debt does not belong to me and was opened without my knowledge and authorization. Attached are additional documents for review

Consumer Complaint: I tried many times to resolve the issue with the company. The account was opened fraudulently. I tried to have it close and removed from my credit report the moment I found out about it. This company keeps reporting and updating it after I had reported that my personal information was compromised in my own home by my roommate! They don't care. They just want me to pay a debt that I don't owe! I noticed on the information they sent me, shortly after the account was opened the transaction history was unbelievable. There was a charges made repeatedly same day and week and the account was abandoned. Looking at the transactions should already show it was fraudulent. Thanks to this company, I can't take out a personal loan to help with my medical bill that I had a procedure done to prevent me from going XXXX! This company is the XXXX!

Consumer Complaint: I have contacted the company on various accessions and have disputed this account numerous times. Ive asked them to validate this account to show the means of where it originated with no is full results returned back to me, and with nothing but vicious attacks on my credit file like this happening in return from them causing harm in the effect of not being approved for a refinance for my home due directly to their illegal tactics.I have submitted to them on occasions ample evidence that I have no recollection of this debt and am not responsible for it and they still maintain the position of neglectful sabotage on my credit file by changing the balance periodically by {$1.00} and the dates and nothing is ever the same that they report but the all of the CRAs let them keep getting away with it by the simple means of them just saying the company verified everything without actually doing anything or having to prove an actual thing on their end.

Consumer Complaint: I received phone calls from these credit collectors from time to time even though I disputed the amount they are collecting. I felt being harassed by these collectors, calling using unknown caller IDs. Today again, a female collector from Midland collections says she has the right to call and collect a debt. And they are authorized and can resume collections anytime by the Fair Debt Collections Practices under section 809. non-stop harassment? Why is that?
