Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 I received correspondence from a company named as Midland Credit Management stating that I owed {$570.00} I have never done business with this company and do not understand why they have my personal information, my home address, my social security number and I am terrified that these XXXX will continue to extort me for a debt that does not belong to me. And according to the verbiage they sent to me which was charged off and indicates that a 1099C was filed and they are attempting to extort me and commit some type of tax fraud. I have not given this debt collector any consent to be contacting me which in accordance to15USC1692c ( a ) so receiving this bill from this debt collector is usual and appalling. Upon understanding my consumer rights and reviewing my credit report this is a direct violation of 15USC1692d ( 4 ).

Consumer Complaint: MIDLAND CREDIT MANAGEMENT is reporting incorrect information on my credit report. They state that I opened this account with them on XX/XX/XXXX. I never opened an account with this company. They are reporting false information and suing me. I told them in court on XX/XX/XXXX that the debt that I originally had with XXXX XXXX which is a debt they bought, has passed the " statute of limitations '' and they decided to postpone the court case that day with no explanation. Since then they have added false information to my report. When I pulled my credit report today XX/XX/XXXX my original, XXXX XXXX account has been removed without my permission from my credit report and they added the false information as if I opened an account with them in XXXX. They are fraudulent going after a debt that has passed the statute of limitations and has altered my credit report without my consent.

Consumer Complaint: Called XX/XX/2022 at XXXX XXXX from XXXX XXXX to discuss possible debt. After listening to the disclosure and the amount claimed I owed, I said I had not received any written notice and would like to dispute the claim and to please send something written so that I can verify the charges. After repeatedly stating that I would not be making arrangements, the agent made no attempt to begin disputes process. Instead went on a sales pitch asking me about when I last looked at my credit report and threatening that if I didn't make arrangements today, I could have my account turned over to a lawyer " that it could happen after we get off this call '' and mentioned possibilities of consequences such as liens and garnishments to paychecks or properties. I repeated that I would not be taking actions until I received a statement that I could verify and that until that time there was nothing else to talk about, then asked to end the call. He held me on the phone to " be honest with me '' he couldn't send me anything by mail ; it was online and I could verify right now. I took a moment to try to compose myself while I heard him talking about how silence wasn't going to help my case and if it wasn't resolved my case could go to a lawyer and I'd be sued.
