Consumer Complaint: I decided to use the chat service in Discover cards app because I needed to dispute a transaction from the week earlier. The first rep seemed like they were disputing it for me there was around 20 mins of nothing in the chat. She then comes back says they treat chats like emails and get back to who they want when they want and she wasn't going to dispute my transaction because it was a service. I pointed out the difference between a service and merchandise and asked for a manager. A manger did not text back for 8 hours and said they were not going to dispute my transaction and I had to go back to the merchant that already did not help. I pointed out on their own credit card resource page it says the FTC requires disputes in certain cases and I have disputed such things before with them since I've had the card for almost 15 years and was successful. She said she would not dispute my transaction from XX/XX/2019 because she determined it not to be in my favor personally. As I understand disputes are required to go through a process where they are clearly documented. I do believe this is a violation of consumer protection laws and needs to be investigated. I know interest rates are dropping on credit cards and in turn making their profits slimmer but taking away consumer protections is not the way to do get bigger profits. I have attached screen shots of the chat where the representative and the manager refused to file my dispute for me.

Consumer Complaint: XXXX : Every time I dispute something they lower my score, while the others raise it. They have incorrectly disputed items and companies I did not select ; and they're the only one of the three. They dont take my card holder status on a XXXX XXXX account into the utilization ratios, and theyre dinging me for old bad debt that was charged off and sold to unscrupulous collection agencies that were found at fault and removed quite some time ago from all three reporting agencies. Their reporting patterns are arbitrary and inconsistent. They are clearly blacklisting me ... theyre the only company I can not contact easily and say this or that doesnt add up, and if correct, have it adjusted. And Discover ... theyre application system dropped my application twice, they admitted, dinged me with hard inquiries, denied me credit, and then refused to remove the erroneous inquiries due to the i system failures. XXXX, I called them and their collection department several times, and could NEVER get a call back, when I did reach a person, they would it accept money from me to settle the account ; they passed me off to another department that sent me back to the original department I came from, and then was rendered back into automated XXXX, left yet another message for the account manager, which never gets returned. But yet, they suddenly updated my report for 20 some odd months of Charge Off status when there wasnt any updates over those months and then plummeted my score again. What is wrong with these people? It takes a certain type to ruin people ; to be in a role to make everyone as whole as possible, yet behave in ways that are contrary to the espoused theories. Im beyond frustrated witXXXX XXXX Discover, and XXXX. I have absolutely NO recourse other than to suffer, or spend all my time, far more than the countless hours I already have, to keep calling, using online forms and writing, in hopes of finally reaching a bright and intelligent individual capable of reading and applying logic, able to feel and reach within the human aspects of the self, and ALSO has a modicum of clout. Consumer Complaint: A couple years ago my wallet was stolen from my car. Ever since this happened, the person who took my personal information has been using it to their advantage. I contacted the police to let them know what happened with my wallet and have been disputing items off my credit reports ever since. The last of the items that were on my credit report is a credit card from Discover Bank. I have been disputing this account with XXXX and Discover Bank for months now. I have sent my FTC report to XXXX and Discover Bank multiple times and the account still remains.

Consumer Complaint: I received an alert from my credit monitoring that my Discover card limit decreased from {$4700.00} to {$500.00}. I called concerned and was told that due to taking a loan out in XXXX and having a high limit on another credit card that is why they decreased my limit. I questioned how they raised my limit in XXXX {$800.00} and but 9 months later decreased it and again they gave me the same reasoning. The loan they referenced as wanting to see a good payment history was taken out in XX/XX/2018 2 months before they increased my credit limit, of which I have made all my payments on with no issues. Then they quote another credit card that has a high usage of which had a similar balance back in XXXX when they increased my credit limit. When I asked if it was because I haven't used the card is when they started getting confrontational and refusing to giving information on how they determined my increase 8 months ago but 8 months later determined that it wasn't good enough and decreased it by 90 %. They simply saw I was using another credit card and not theirs and reduced the limit thus forcing me to close the card further hurting my credit score. If this has happened to me Im sure it has happened to 10s of thousands of people. Simply because I made a sound financial decision to keep that card as an emergency card they decided to cut the limit. My credit score is the highest its ever been, 3 other credit card companies in the last 60 days increased my credit limit by more than 30 % while they decreased it by 90 %. As Americans try to dig themselves out of debt and build good credit, we have companies like Discover pushing them further down simply because I decided not to use the card.

Consumer Complaint: I am about 20 days behind on my discover card payment. Never 30 days late. Discover is calling me 5 times a day often 5-6 days a week. I have requested to be called no more than once a day. Discover will often fill my voicemail box within two and prevents me from receiving messages from other callers. I have attempted to speak with discover concerning this matter. The last time I called discover a supervisor placed me on hold for two hours. This type collecting is harrasing and impedes my daily life. I have attached the last couple of days of calls, I can provide a detailed call history of this harrasing behavior. Can you please help resolve this matter with discover?

The caller ID says Discover and the number that appears is XXXX. I do not have a Discover card nor have I ever had a Discover card. When I pick up the phone they just hang up so I don't even have a chance to question why they are calling.
