Consumer Complaint: I gave access to XXXX XXXX XXXX to my XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX credit cards to transfer funds to me. I got cash advances and wrote balance transfer checks and XXXX XXXX XXXX agreed to make payments to the credit card companies to pay for the withdrawals. They made payments initially but then reversed the payments. The reversals resulted in my card credit limits being exceeded by a factor of 3.5. XXXX XXXX notified me that my card account had been closed and that the balance was - {$170.00}. I requested them to send me a check to take the balance to XXXX and they did. Shortly after, the balance went to - {$25000.00} after XXXX XXXX XXXX reversed their payment. The credit limit on the account was {$17000.00}. The credit limit on the XXXX account was {$20000.00}. The balance soared to {$72000.00} after XXXX XXXX XXXX reversed their account payments. One payment that was reversed was for {$52000.00}. XXXX XXXX XXXX took similar actions with my Discover Card account. The account credit limit was {$20000.00} and the account balanced soared to {$57000.00} after their account payments were reversed.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Card was charged for something you did not purchase with the card
Consumer Complaint: On Sunday, XX/XX/XXXX I noticed a charge on my Discover card account that I did not recognize : XX/XX/XXXX XXXX for {$170.00} I immediately started a dispute, and a temporary credit was issued. I received a very poor quality copy of what looked like a shipping label and was told this was proof of a legitimate charge. I wrote a letter on XX/XX/XXXX to both Discover and to XXXX requesting information about the purchase. How was the order placed, online or by phone? Did the expiration date and CVV code match? I then received an email on XX/XX/XXXX from Discover that stated : We've received your request to continue evaluating your dispute. After reviewing the information you provided, we determined that we've already considered this information or it was insufficient and we could not continue the dispute. If you have documentation you have not yet shared with us, please send it within 15 days of receiving this letter and we'll continue working on your dispute. So I wrote another letter on XX/XX/XXXX, stating : I find it interesting that Discover is asking me for information that I can not possibly have, since I did not make the charge. I have never purchased anything from XXXX. This is a fraudulent charge. And the charge was put back on my account. So I wrote another letter on XX/XX/XXXX, asking the same questions. I was not given the courtesy of a response. So I wrote again on XX/XX/XXXX, and I also did an online chat. I was told that I needed to call Discover to continue the dispute. Discover requires written notification of any fraudulent charge. And I am requesting the same. I have written, and I have no response. Did anyone ask XXXX who placed the order, how was it placed? Can it be traced? I know they have not responded to my request for information. Is someone looking into the unauthorized use of my credit card? The entire balance on my account is this unauthorized charge plus interest. And I now have an email stating that my account is past due. Since I have not charged anything, I have a zero balance.

Consumer Complaint: Application # XXXX I have applied for a home equity loan with Discover Bank. My application ( # XXXX ) was denied. I am told that it is because my debt-to-income ( DTI ) ratio does not fall within the guideline. I have inquired about the details. I was given some broad numbers on how the DTI was calculated. I have noticed that the rental income was off by about {$1000.00} per month, but the lender is not providing how they came up with the rental income calculation that leads to this number. I have asked XXXX XXXX ( NMLS ID XXXX ) who is the Senior Loan Specialist that I am working with fro details on how the income/loss of each property was calculated. She is stating that I she can not share any additional details.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I have a closed account with Discover Bank. A credit card. I recently had them do a fraud investigation and I was advised while under investigation I could not make payments toward the balance. At one point they showed the account as {$800.00} credit to me so there was no way I could make a payment anyway. First thing first they did a horrible job doing the investigation. Never called me, or asked me for any of my info ( including my police report ) they just ruled in their favor and said I owed the debt that someone else did when they stole me card. Here is the biggest factor though. Discover went back and mark my payment history as missed payments during the time they were conducting the investigation. They're the ones who told me not to pay and I didn't even have a chance too because the account showed to be credited. Discover and their horrible, rude employees refuse to fix the obvious. I have recorded every call with them including them telling me I have a credit and not to pay during the investigation.
