Consumer Complaint: Purchased phone case over the internet from XXXX XXXX. Case arrived and was not as described. Logo was a sticker on a phone case. The item described was a logo infused into the plastic case. I contacted merchant who wanted me to return the item to XXXX for {$35.00}. However, the item was received from Kentucky and only cost {$25.00}. This made no sense. I issued a credit card dispute with Discover and was advised there was nothing they can do. The internet Provider is allowed to XXXX me for false advertisement of merchandise and force me to send it to XXXX to avoid people from pursuing a refund. This is fraud and Discover Card is promoting it and forcing their customers to pay it. This is WRONG!

Consumer Complaint: Today I received an offer from Discover to lower my interest rate to 0.99 %. When I calculated the terms I discovered that the rate was really 7.99 %. I used the online chat feature to question them about the discrepancy. They refused to acknowledge the discrepancy and instead offered me a rate that was closer to 2.2 %, but continued to insist it was 0.99 %. I asked them to send me all the terms via email so I could review with my advisor and they refused. I told them I would not agree to any plan without having all the terms in writing. At that point they tried to pressure me into signing up for a payment plan because I have had one late payment in the more than 5 years that I have had the card. It was LATE not MISSED. Recently they have been harassing me by phone and email trying to put me on a payment plan because of that single late payment. My complaint concerns the bait and switch interest rate, the refusal to provide me with terms of a financial contract in writing for my review before I agree to it and the harassment by customer service reps for a single late payment.

This company is reporting false and erroneous information, they have failed to investigate the item, these are violations under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. This is hugely affecting me emotionally. I like to found out why they do not send the requests with secure message through my on line account. Consumer Complaint: 1.When my card was opened I was not aware of having the card and never used it, therefore Discover open my card fraudulently without my consent which is my privacy violation by Discover. I have never signed any single payment receipt and was not even aware of that account existence. 2. My card was used to pay for the services without my consent. My card was used to dispute payment for service without my consent since per Discover Terms and Conditions Discover will protect poor services. Please view attached Discover Terms and Conditions. 3. In violation with Discover Terms and Conditions Discover did not protect me, never contacted me to verify if I opened the card. 4. Discover placed adverse derogatory write of to my credit report which is fraudulent. 5. I have contacted Discover many times with no avail.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX CST, I received an email from Discover telling me that they closed my credit account. I was confused and concerned. I was a Discover cardholder since XXXX and have never been late on a payment. On XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX XXXX CST, I called the number listed on the email to find out exactly why my account was closed and to try to get the decision reversed based on my length of account and perfect payment history. I spoke to a representative in Utah who told me that they closed my account due to non-use, which was the main factor. The last time I made a payment to pay my card off in full was XX/XX/XXXX, so it hadn't been used in 7 months. I pleaded with the representative and reminded them about my history with the bank and never missing a payment. The representative was apathetic and told me that they can't reverse the decision. I explained that there have been several periods during the last 12 years where I have gone much longer without any card use and never had this happen before. The representative would only say that their non-usage periods change. At the end of the call, the representative said that I could re-apply. This made no sense to me because I already was approved and had the account for 12 years plus it would drop my score for unnecessarily going through the entire process again. I have other credit cards with other companies and I have received notifications in advance about non-use and that I would need to use the card soon to avoid account closure. Discover should have done this, especially if the non-use period keeps changing. Discover has effectively wiped {$15000.00} worth of available credit which will tank my credit score for no good reason. We are in the middle of a pandemic and with the uncertainty of everything going, the last thing you want to do is close the account of a customer who was responsible with their credit and never missed a payment. All I am asking for is that my credit account and line be restored as it shouldn't have been closed. I also want Discover to do the responsible thing and notify customers when they are approaching their arbitrary non-use time limit which would avoid all of this in the first place.

Consumer Complaint: Contacted Discover to pay complete balance on or about XX/XX/2020. Was given a figure of {$1100.00} which I paid through my bank online in 5 minutes. Thought it was done and account would be closed. However, a couple weeks later I get a statement with a positive balance of {$6.00}. Called them and said send me a check and close account. That was 3 months ago. Not only did they not send me a check like they said, I keep getting statements with the + {$6.00} balance. They are 3 months overdue on payment. I would like to charge them {$28.00} a month late fee like they had no problem doing to me. I have all the documentation. What they are doing is just wrong and think everyone is stupid. They kinda acted offended when I said I want to pay of balance and close account. I think they should be punished somewhat..it 's not the {$6.00}, it's the fact they didn't do what they said..could have been so easy. Now, I'm kinda XXXX XXXX. I think punitive damages should be considered. Look forward to hearing from you. I'm no shrinking violet..
