Consumer Complaint: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers ( I do NOT want any communication from Discover. I called multiple times and asked them to cease ALL communication with me the beginning of XXXX. It is now the XXXX of XXXX, and I am still receiving mail from them which is harassment. Each time I call in, they inform me that the communication will cease but to " forgive them '' if I were to receive any recent communication as it may have already been processed. I don't want to contact opt-out services LLC because I do want promotions from other companies, just NOT Discover as it's my right to not receive communication from them specifically. Discover is the ONLY credit card company that has ever canceled with me and they did this around the start of the pandemic. Their decision and unprofessionalism when calling in trying to resolve it, had a negative impact on me and my credit scrore alike. Though I am not legally obligated to provide a reason for my request to have no communication with them, I decided to. )

Discover bank Acct # XXXX on XXXX and XXXX The information incorrect is the account number is not correct Date opened it not correct Balance isn't correct on XXXX it shows {$1400.00} on XXXX it shows as {$0.00} Payment status is incorrect and shows as charge off on XXXX while XXXX shows as paid in full Last report date is incorrect XXXX says XX/XX/XXXX while XXXX shows XX/XX/XXXX XXXX also states it as a Delinquent and Derogatory while XXXX has it Derogatory Also neither has the correct address associated with me This account should be removed from both XXXX and XXXX for being inaccurate. Now there are two more accounts with XXXX that is not accurate XXXX XXXX XXXX Acct # XXXX XXXX XXXX Acct # XXXX XXXX on XXXX shows as payment after charge off which is not accurate, payment status isn't correct, active date is incorrect. Also credit limit being {$0.00} and high credit being {$9000.00} is incorrect. Date open XX/XX/XXXX and last report date XX/XX/XXXX is incorrect. Along with the address on file not being mine. XXXX on XXXX shows payment status as charge off which is inaccurate, last active date XX/XX/XXXX is incorrect on XXXX. XXXX has it as XX/XX/XXXX paid satisfactorily accurately. Also credit limit being {$1500.00} and high credit being {$1800.00} is incorrect. Date open XX/XX/XXXX, last active date XX/XX/XXXX and last report date XX/XX/XXXX is incorrect. XXXX has last active date as XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX with the address on file not being mine.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/. I called discover and spoke to a customer service agent about going on a potential payment plan since I was a month behind because I'm a college student who works part time and has no extra money to pay off the outstanding debt. The agent then proceeded to put me on a {$68.00} dollar a month with lower APR for 12 months and issue a {$100.00} statement credit towards my balance to help get back to good standing again. The agent then proceeded to put me on hold while doing this and the system went down at around that time. I was also asked to schedule 3 automatic payments for the upcoming months to have the payment plan effective. After several months and paying what was required at the time, I recieved a letter stating my account is heading to default and missed 3 payments since XX/XX/. I have reached out on XX/XX/XXXX over the letter and the agent was rude and told me no payment plan was established and then proceeded to ask for the money and refused to talk to a supervisor. I then proceeded to call today, XX/XX/XXXX about this issue and I was told they can not because they are short staffed and very busy. I have asked for a supervisor but I was placed on hold and never heard anything back. They claim no record was shown and I have to pay them {$300.00} to get back in good standing but unfortunately I don't have that money to send them to get back on good standing. I'm a college student who used to discover to help pay for college and expenses for everyday needs as my job was reducing hours because of slow season and everything. I have been trying and I have been paying them with what the original agent has placed me on.

Consumer Complaint: As a recently XXXX XXXX, I became aware of the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act ( SCRA ). I submitted a request to Discover Card on XX/XX/2023 that reads as follows : " As a XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX, recently retired XXXX Military veteran, I would like to request debt relief assistance under the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act ( SCRA ) via debt or interest rate reduction for the account ( XXXX ) I have with your company. Attached is my Veterans Affairs XXXX letter. '' Approximately, a 10 days later I received notification from Discover Card that they have closed my account. Per SCRA, " a lender cant revoke your loan or credit account, change the terms of your credit, or refuse to grant you credit just because you exercised your SCRA rights. In addition, a lender cant furnish negative information to a credit reporting company just for invoking your SCRA rights. Remember, the SCRA requires your lender to reduce your interest rate in certain circumstances but you still have to pay back your debts. '' Discover Card violated my rights as a servicemember and federal SCRA laws. I would like my card reinstated, the debt and interest rate reduced.

Consumer Complaint: On XXXX of this year Discover Card closed my accounts after making a halfhearted attempt to contact me to verify my personal information. They sent one email which was lost in the shuffle of a very busy inbox. No attempt to call me was made and no paper mail was sent to me. Because of this both of my accounts, which had a XXXX balance, were closed by the creditor, causing a cascade of credit issues, dropping my available balances and crashing my credit score. I feel that this action was done deceitfully and maliciously. The creditor provided no relief except to apply for a new line, only to be declined for having open accounts, the same accounts that they closed! Discover, a creditor which prides itself on its customer service record, has absolutely ruined my credit which will take years to recover from.
