Consumer Complaint: I was late on paying my Discover account due to trouble making payment through the discover app. I was charge a late fee of XXXX XXXX. Which was refunded. But my minimum payment went up by XXXX XXXX for the next month. Upon Discovers policy there calculations for late accounts you have to pay XXXX XXXX plus an extra XXXX, plus 2 percent of Balance owing that goes towards balance owing. Upon this calculation you are paying an additional XXXX XXXX plus on top of the monthly minimum due balance which is going to the balance owing. I was late paying XXXX 's minimum amount due. Therefore, XXXX 's payment has been increased by XXXX XXXX. Eventhough it goes to my balance owing and not to Discovers pocket for late charge ; I am still being charge a late fee in another form of punishment for paying late. Discover calculations on late payments practices should be reviewed period.

Consumer Complaint: My Discover Credit Card account ending on XXXX was cancelled in XX/XX/XXXX. However, I never received any notice that it was going to be cancelled. Otherwise, I would have opted to remain open. According to The Credit Card Act of 2009 lenders are required to provide customers with 45 days notice of major changes to their account. Given the effect on one 's credit history, especially in this case with an account that was over 10 years old and the financial importance of a good credit XXXX in our society this should indeed be considered a major change to the account. This has drastically and negatively impacted my creditscore for two different reasons. ( 1 ) Length of my credit account. The Discover card was first opened in XXXX, and it was one of my oldest accounts. ( 2 ) Reduction in my credit utilization ratio. It is very unfortunate that the way I foundout about the cancelation was by checking my credit score. I had no communication warning about the account closure. Today, XX/XX/XXXX, I attempted to call Discover to get the account reinstatedbut I was unable to do it. I spoke withcustomer service and supervisors who refused to find a solution to this case. My last transaction had been in XXXX, but I would periodically login to the portal and transact on the Discover Savings account which I nowunderstand that it is a different product. I would love to ask for your help in reconsidering this case as it directly affects my financial situation and credit score.

Consumer Complaint: I stopped paying discover student loans because i couldnt afford it. For 5 years I tried working with discover and attempt to lower payments. I was living paycheck to paycheck and only paying down interest. Student loans are a scam. I stopped paying because they refused to lower my monthly payments. I ignored their phone calls and contacted an attorney. Now Im getting letters that it was sold to a debt collector and i was never notified. In addition, I have never received any communication from XXXX XXXX, the debt collection company, to make arrangements or figure something out. Now they reported it to the credit bureaus and my credit score dropped 30 points because of it. This is just XXXX. I want my credit restored.

O said I don't care if I did I also said I couldn't make the payment and you guys took the {$73.00} anyway out my checking account and over drawed my account and a fee of {$34.00} added to it. Now I cant use my account because of discover and I dont have the money to pay it.

Consumer Complaint: I received a letter for XXXX XXXX XXXX at XXXX, located in XXXX Wisconsin. They were notifying me of a debt owed to discover student loans. I am disputing the amount and want to request more information but they have not returned any of my phone calls/voicemails. I did some research on the company and they have been a part of several lawsuits for deceptive practices and trying to revive old debts. Clearly they are a shady company and this is ridiculous they are allowed to handle this. I can not afford the debt amount and will need to work with someone to make an arrangement that works for me, however they refuse to answer me and they are doing it on purpose so the 30 days runs out. They write this is an attempt to amicably resolve the debt but its not because they are not responsive. These companies are snakes and look to hurt people. I want this removed as a debt and this better not make it to my credit report.

The purchase was made in a different state at a store that I had never been to before and the store was a jeweler for an exorbitant amount of money that I would have never paid for jewelry. Discover has said that I am responsible for the transaction but has failed to provide any proof or reason as to why I was liable.

My records associated with DISCOVER FIN SVCS account do not complement with what the Credit bureaus may claim as a " validated as accurate ''. I was never late on this account. I have been monitoring my credit report for any changes since my several dispute letters, but I am yet to see the correction that I asked for and desperately need. I requested the actual proof, physical firsthand documentation of the payment history but I did not receive what I asked and these violations persist on my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020. I applied for a second mortgage with Discover Home Loans application number XXXX they told me I was pre-qualified after submitting my income. Additionally they ran my credit ( hard pull ) and then asked for mor documents that were not listed in the discloser like ; they had me submit 3 years of XXXX instead of the two pay check stubs they advertised. Additionally they had me submit numerous documents and on XX/XX/20 they called me and told me that they were upping the interest rate from 4.99 % to 8.99 % because they didnt realize this was a second mortgage. Additionally when I complained about this they said my debt to income was not within their guidelines but couldnt explain this because I make more money than was required.. I want an investigation into this and request at the end of this your agencies help in removing inquiry on my credit bureaus from theses people. I have a few emails but Im absolutely discussed by bait and switch for two reasons 1. This could happen to others 2. By them pulling my credit and doing the bait and switch I have to wait for those 10 points to rebound before I can apply again with another bank.
