Consumer Complaint: Open prepay Discover card It account to use online shopping. Received card and used the card online shopping. Received an email on phone from Discover Fraud Prevention Inquiry XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2020 please call 24hrs. Grab the laptop ( in case of bad email spammer ) and sign in acct. Account was not available and said " Call this number ''. Called the number and ask what was wrong. They did not have access to that acct and could not tell me what was wrong. Now I am concern and mad. I have no idea what was going on with acct and neither did they. I told them to close it and she said she could not do it. Hung up and called again and after being put on hold on and off the acct was closed. Then I was told I would have access to the acct since it was closed. My credit score would be lowered due to closing my acct because I received a fraud alert with 24 hour service ( email archived ) because someone pushed a button and went home. My account had no unauthorized charges and as far maybe an identity problem I have a bank acct, no debts and my house in my name paid for. Discover could have freeze the acct. and let me know to call in the morning and so many other professional options questioning the acct.

Consumer Complaint: Back in XXXX my Grandma XXXX wanted to buy some appliances, I decided to help her apply for a credit card and she was approved for {$6000.00} with Discover for 0 % which made my Grandma very happy! We waited patiently for her card and once arrived, we activated it and then ran into a roadblock, according to my Grandma, Discover had called her and Discover had spoken with an unauthorized representative of my Grandma, who did not approve and thus further delaying her ability to use the card. We believe this triggered them into asking for length details of documents instead of speaking to the real account owner, Discover spoke with someone else and because of their negligence we're held responsible?! I don't think so. Then Discover never contacted us requesting for documents for verification, there was NO letter or call of any sort. Discover THEN felt it was okay to cancel my Grandmas account she was approved for? She has a XXXX score with no lates or any baddies, why is she being penalized?! We submitted the requested documents even close to where Discover jeopardize my Grandmas health by FORCING her to go to her bank during the COVID-19 Pandemic to get her paper notarized because Discover is incompetent and can't even complete a normal verification method of my Grandma. We submitted all her bank documents and the Discover papers over 30 days ago and no response again ... this is what they did last time and blame us!!! I've helped my Grandma call XXXX a million times and have provided everything they need yet they continue to neglect us.

Consumer Complaint: I was charged on XXXX of XX/XX/2018 for a transaction on my university that I dont recognize and isnt applied to my university account. I noticed on these days because they wasnt sending my statements as required by law. I call to dispute the charge and discover dont know how to process a dispute, the dont contact the merchant. They do nothing about the dispute. And dont provide the required by law provisional dispute during the investigation. They dont know how to handle disputes, customer service or provisional credits. When I call the representatives ask for old credit cards that was losted, they dont know how to find a transaction or dispute. Im very dissapointed about this credit card. I dont recommend discover. Due to the poor quality of service. Mediocre.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020, my previously earned miles from Discover Card Services was unexpectedly converted to cash. There was no notice given. Contact with the company stated that : " I am so sorry about this happening, but I can send you the terms for your account where it will talk about cashback/miles being forfeited or cancelled at our discretion. Would you like me to do that? '' They then disconnected the chat on me after I wasted an hour with them. I will be closing my account and advise others to as well.

The week on XX/XX/XXXX my employer makes us aware that we all need to check personal belongings because reports of theft were made during the party. I checked noticed 2 card were gone and immediately called the companys XXXX XXXX and Discover. Over about a week span my cards were charged multiple times adding combined to over {$4000.00}. When I contacted XXXX XXXX they cleared all charges noticing there was a spree of shopping. However Discover said its not enough evidence. I called gave them all purchase details, filed a police report giving them all information and also appealed their decision to deny the claim.
