Consumer Complaint: Around XX/XX/XXXX or XXXX my teenager son son wanted to buy used XXXX headphones he saw advertised on app called XXXX & started talking to XXXX XXXX the seller. The seller was telling my son to use XXXX to pay him & when I asked my son why cant you pay him through XXXX he said seller cant accept payment from that up. I got a bad feeling about this whole transaction but I agreed because my son was very excited about getting these headphones & he has XXXX so I help him with purchases. Now I had messages on messenger with the seller & he got paid through XXXX & he said he would send the tracking but never happened & he ignored messages. Now I disputed the transaction with XXXX and now XXXX rejected because theyre saying we violated the XXXX policy by paying a vendor through friends and family so theyre blaming us & rejecting the claim. The crook got paid & we are out of & {$100.00}. Our credit card company Discover is not protecting us and XXXX is taking sides with the crook who swindled us & we broke the policy. First able when we made the payment through XXXX we didnt know XXXX was involved and XXXX didnt show the details of the transaction. Now both Discover & XXXX is rejecting this online scam as treating it as its our fault & we are liable for the payment. XXXX also didnt help by saying its friends & family transaction. I asked them to investigate this guy and report him to authorities & I doubt they did anything. I dont want to be resposible for this charge & I want it taken off my account. This is an online scam & he is praying on people like my son who has XXXX. Plus not everyone out there knows these apps like XXXX or sending money on XXXX is like cash where there is no tracking it or crooks like this use it to their advantage. XXXX and Discover dont offer any consumer protection when scams like this are going on. Im sure we are not the only ones. Plus XXXX & XXXX charged around {$4.00} in fees which Im sure there is insurance that protects them during fraud cases. Im out right now {$100.00}.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, a booking company ( XXXX ) charged me {$1900.00} for a vacation package that they chose to cancel on XX/XX/XXXX. The merchant stated they were not issuing refunds and instructed customers to contact their banks for refunds. I disputed the charge on my debit card with Discover Bank immediately on XX/XX/XXXX and they gave me a conditional refund and told me it would be no problem and they were very sorry this happened to me. I was re-assured that disputing this would be no problem, even though I feared it would be since the transaction was on a debit card and not a credit card. On XX/XX/XXXX I received a letter in the mail from Discover Bank, dated XX/XX/XXXX, stating that they deemed the charge valid and would be taking back the refund they gave me over 2 months ago. I am now about to close on a house and can not afford to be out nearly {$2000.00} when I was re-assured in XXXX that this refund would not be a problem at all. I am told that because of Regulation E, they can only dispute the charge if there as a banking error. I think there is an error that I am not refunded for an order that the merchant canceled. Discover Bank also stated that the merchant told them they refunded me {$1000.00}, which is incorrect ( also unacceptable as this is only half on the charge ). The customer service rep even confirmed that this refund showed up nowhere in my account and they never received it. This also sounds like a banking error. Regardless, I know of countless other people whose trips were canceled by this merchant, and they were able to receive refunds on their debit card transactions. I have been a loyal customer to Discover for credit cards, banking, and a personal loan through my spouse for years. I have referred many friends to use Discover as well and have always known them to do what's right for their customers. Refusing to fight for your customer 's hard earned money is not what's right.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I booked a hotel reservation for a hotel called XXXX XXXX in Hawaii for to stay in XXXX, through XXXX, serviced by XXXX. Soon enough, all travels were being cancelled due to response to Covid-19, XXXX shut down it's customer services and had updated their website mentioning all booking may be cancelled. No support services were available ( no phone, email etc ), their website simply had text update to reach out to the hotel directly. Upon confirming with the hotel the reservation was cancelled by the travel vendor. As of XXXX, XXXX XXXX XXXX is no longer functioning. I filed a dispute on XX/XX/2020 with Discover Finance a {$910.00} charge by a travel vendor XXXX. The charge was still there, I had no means to directly contact the vendor directly to recover it. Discover Finance at the time was in favor of my dispute. Until my dispute was reversed in favor of the merchant, and the {$910.00} charge was placed back to my account in XXXX. The dispute notes from Discover says that the vendor claims I made no attempts to reach out to them to cancel the booking, thus the charge is valid. Discover found this enough to reverse the charge and in my attempt to re-open my dispute they let me know " in order for us to review our options, we will need written documents from the merchant stating that a full refund is due to your credit card ''. I called the support number to attempt to get support on this dispute on XX/XX/XXXX, even though the respondent agreed it should be reversed in my favor, she needed a supervisor to contact me. I was told to wait 48 hours and someone will contact me. I waited two full business days, no one has attempted to contact me.

I did this and then Discover Bank returned the deposits to my other banks. They deposited the {$200.00} bonus in my account on XX/XX/2020, but then I got an email to call the bank on XX/XX/2020. They closed my account and stole the {$200.00} bonus from me even though I completed their requirements. I would like your help in getting my {$200.00} bonus that I earned and they stole from me. Consumer Complaint: During the Coronavirus issue, phase XXXX, cycle XXXX, Discover Financial Services did not fully investigate options related to fraud and abuse as indicated with a renewed credit card. The new issued card had information that apparently rolled over to the new system however the crisis severely impacted my ability to pay my account on time and now I am concerned that I will have difficulties obtaining a student loan for the XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX this fall. The pandemic is challenging and I believe that once again we can unite to formulate an outcome based on good decisions as demonstrated with my first television in XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX in XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: I took out several small student loans with Discover Student Loans in the XXXX 's while attending the University XXXX XXXX. In XXXX, I entered into Chapter XXXX Bankruptcy, but continued to make payments on these loans. During the course of bankruptcy, I received notice from Discover that my student loans were being sold to another servicing company, and the company name and information would be provided. I never received such information. Over the course of the six years I was in bankruptcy, I made attempts to contact a list of names of servicing companies Discover provided. None claimed to own my loans. With Discover disclaiming my loans, and the servicing companies who allegedly purchased my Discover loans also disclaiming them, I had no one to pay. I was discharged from bankruptcy in XX/XX/XXXX. Since then, I have received no communication from Discover or their subsidiary Student Loan Corporation ( SLC ). Today, I checked my credit reports to find that both Discover and SLC have entered negative remarks in to my credit reports for XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX. I called SLC who advised they could not " bill '' me for XXXX or XXXX because I was in bankruptcy. This is false. If Discover or SLC believed I owed them money, they could have billed me any day after they were notified of the discharge of my bankruptcy. They did not do so. I am especially disturbed about SLC entering negative information into my credit reports because I never specifically entered into any agreement with them to my knowledge.
