Consumer Complaint: I used XXXX to put money on an inmates books. Im already charged a XXXX + dollar fee from XXXX and then I look at my Discover Credit Card Statement and they decided to charge me a XXXX dollar cash advance fee that I never aggreed to. The main purpose of the credit card is to be a credit card. Not charged like a debit card unless i want to get cash back from a store. Ive never heard of cash xfers through a credit card. The website said put in a credit card not a debit card. Ive always known Discover to be a credit card company and also remember a phone call I asked about cash advances and there was no fee if paid on time. I pulled XXXX out at XXXX and was never charged a cash advance fee. I also had to put in a pin number to get a cash advance and never put in a pin for XXXX. I would like my XXXX back. I will attach my statement pdf of the last 12 months you will see the XXXX cash advance from XXXX in XX/XX/19 with no cash advance fee. Then the XXXX of XXXX which was not authorized as a cash advance. It is a credit card purchase not a cash advance. I did not put in a pin or anything.

Subissue: Transaction was not authorized
Consumer Complaint: Back in XX/XX/XXXX, I started to pay for a XXXX trip with XXXX. I finished paying for it in XXXX. Unfortunately in XXXX XXXX stopped operations and cancelled all trips without refunds. They told people to contact their banks for refund. XX/XX/XXXX I contacted my bank XXXX and was told it wouldnt be a problem to do the dispute at first and later was transferred to someone else and told it can not be done. I cant contact the merchant at all. I have trusted XXXX to help me but they refused numerous times. I dont believe they have done all they could for me because i know if it was them or a family member who lost their money with a company they would fight to get it back. I still dont understand why im not protected from this transaction when i cant reach the merchant and have lost {$1000.00} when I have no product or services. I feel like that transaction was FRAUD. I have seen numerous people get their money back from XXXX due to XXXX.

Consumer Complaint: Due to loss of job from Covid-19 I spoke with a representative at Discover Home Loan and he said I could sign up for a forebearance plan due to Covid-19. He said he put me in for the forebearance plan and to expect a form in the mail to sign. I spoke with the Representative over a month ago and I still have not received a letter nor have they placed me on forebearance and I keep getting late fees each month and am being reported to the credit agencies as delinquent. I am trying to get caught up, but due to not being placed on forebearance I have racked up late charges since XXXX 's scheduled payment.I wish to be placed on forebearance and the late fees for XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX to be refunded. ( although XXXX has not been charged yet, within another week there will be a charge added to my account ).

Consumer Complaint: Discover is fraudulently collecting late fees on my payments. I keep paying on the due date, and Discover keeps collecting late fees EVERY TIME I PAY ON TIME!!!!! I have paid the minimum on XX/XX/2020 ( the due date ) and got charged a fee for " paying late ''. I have paid the minimum on XX/XX/2020 ( the due date ) and got charged a fee for " paying late ''. I have paid the minimum today XX/XX/2020 ( the due date ) and will likely get charged a fee for " paying late ''. Discover needs to refund all the late fees associated with payments on XX/XX/2020, XX/XX/2020 and XX/XX/2020

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: I have two balance transfers through Discover. One is due on XX/XX/XXXX and one is due on XX/XX/XXXX. I recently made a payment of {$2000.00} on my account so I could pay off the amount that was due on XX/XX/XXXX. I checked in today and Discover told me I have an active balance of {$1600.00} on the balance that is due on XX/XX/XXXX. I think, well, this can't be correct. It turns out they applied my entire payment to my OTHER balance transfer, the one that is due a year from now. I went through a representative who wasn't able to help me and spoke with " XXXX '' from XXXX, AZ. He assured me that this is normal and that there is NO WAY to either reverse the charge or apply it to the correct balance. He also told me that there is no way to PAY on that balance, until the entire balance on my balance due in XXXX is paid which sounded even more ludicrous. I asked several times if there was any way he could help me on this and he just kept doing a copy/paste job on what on some scripted text they have. Even after I told him my family would go hungry if I had to pay an additional {$1600.00} on top of the {$2000.00} I already gave the company that month. He kept stating there was nothing he could do. Then after doing some XXXX searches, I found you, you can indeed request the company to reverse your over payment back to your bank account, I told XXXX this and he said " well I didn't think you would want that option ''. Long story short, I'm supposedly getting the {$2000.00} sent back to my bank account, so now I can wait till my balance transfer expires and then and only then I can make the full payment on it. This entire thing made me super skeptical of Discover 's business practices. They're definitely using some loopholes to benefit themselves over the customer and instructing their supervisors to not budge or refund money unless explicitly asked. Once my account is paid up I will be closing this card and running far far away from Discover. Your company can do better than this. I will likely now have a ding on my credit report for letting the balance transfer " expire '', but they've literally given my no other option than to pay the entire balance in full. Very deceptive, predatory practices. XXXX also refused to give me contact information when I wanted to file a formal complaint, so here I am on consumer finance.

Issue: Advertising and marketing, including promotional offers
Subissue: Confusing or misleading advertising about the credit card
Consumer Complaint: I was on the Discover credit card app regarding a current card. One of those suggestions came up saying to apply for a credit card and THAT IT WOULD NOT AFFECT MY CREDIT REPORT. I continued with the application based on that disclaimer because I did not want a hard inquiry on my credit report. I continued the process and hit the submit button. Automatically I received an email from XXXX that I had an inquiry from Discover. I contacted Discover and they said that the initial request would not prompt an inquiry but completing the ENTIRE application would and there is nothing that they can do about it. This is the epitome of bait-and-switch and I would not have applied for the credit card if they : 1 ) had not suggested it 2 ) said that it would be a soft inquiry.

Consumer Complaint: I would like assistance with disputing a charge on my account for {$6500.00}. It was paid to Discover Credit Card on XX/XX/18. In total they charged me {$6500.00}. Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: My complaint is with XXXX and XXXX and XXXX. XXXX continues to report misleading credit information on their fee for service site. XXXX. Credit scores and account information on their website contradict and are completely different then what is reporting to agencies such as XXXX XXXX and XXXX and Discover. XXXX displays more positive account reporting. After attempts to be approved for tradeline credit based on their fee for service account, lenders such as XXXX XXXX and XXXX report back with profoundly lower credit scores and defamatory credit information such as recent delinquencies, bankruptcies, chargeoffs as well as low available credit. I was also informed by Discover XXXX uses a 3rd party called Furnisher. I have never initiated nor authorized any services from Furnisher. Furnisher has blocked and flagged my individual personal credit as problematic, high risk and extrey derogatory. Neither XXXX and XXXX nor XXXX have credit score information and scores matching XXXX and XXXX ' letter of declination. I find this practice to be fraudulent and quite discriminatory. I'm a conversation with the lending representative, he could not answer many of my questions of standardization of credit approval. He said it is case by case and based on reporting from XXXX. The same website reporting contrary information. I paid this company XXXX a month to monitor my credit ACCURATELY. Their ratings are noticeably lower than XXXX and XXXX in my case. None of the scores listed on any of XXXX AND XXXX 'S declination letters matched XXXX customer reported information. Nor did XXXX XXXX XXXX 's XXXX XXXX third party site.
