Consumer Complaint: Discover arbitrarily reduced my credit limit without reason and without notifying me. This unfounded and malicious action not only reduced my available credit, it drastically increased my percentage of amount owed to amount available. This wrongful action has caused more than a 100-point drop in my credit scores and has result in the denial of credit. This is the case even though I have never missed a single payment on any of my credit accounts.

Consumer Complaint: Upon reviewing my XXXX Credit File, I noticed an unauthorized inquiry from Discover Financial Services with a date of XX/XX/2019. There is a number of XXXX listed so I called and requested assistance with getting the unauthorized inquiry removed and advised that I do not have an account nor have I applied for one. I provided my name and full social and was advised via the number listed with the inquiry that there was not an account for my social which I was aware of as I have never opened an account. The woman also advised that there was no applications on file. I advised her that is further more a reason why the inquiry needed to be removed and she advised that no one could assist me at that number.

Consumer Complaint: Discover failed to inform me that my payments had been missed ( I had set up direct pay with them and automatic payment ). As a result, I was charged return payment fees, late fees, and interest on those fees, and finally my account was closed, at which point I was informed. Discover simply insisted I pay the amount I owed ( including late and returned payment fees from their error, plus interest ), and would not reinstate my account. Their incorrect reporting remains on my credit.

Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of 2018 I submitted all my accounts to XXXX XXXX XXXX to manage all my accounts and to control my interest rates on all my accounts. Since my account was not late due to my mishandling of it but due to the interest and contract disagreement between XXXX and Discover technically the payments were being made but the amount and the interest rate was the only point of contention I am disputing the reporting of my account as late. Discover accepted the payments and demanded more money at a higher interest from XXXX who was already paying them on time. Since the lower amounts were paid on time this is a fraudulent reporting on my credit report.

Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: I applied and was approved for a Discover card. Once I received my card and activated it, I was contacted by a department in Discover called account verification. They requesting additional information regarding my account and my account was put on hold. A few days later, I received an email stating they were closing my account because they couldnt verify my information. I never used the discover card and now I have a balance and they are reporting me as 30 days late on my credit report. To my knowledge my account was on hold then closed, at no time in between was there a chance for me to use the card. I called several times to try and resolve this with Discover as they said I was responsible for the charges although I didnt make them. I explained that they were the ones who put the hold and closed my account before I even got a chance to use the card. I never used my Discover card to make purchases. Discover is unfairly and inaccurately reporting to the credit bureaus.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2020 I finished the process of opening an account with Discover Bank. Over the next few days, I deposited into my account what was worth {$2300.00} in checks. On XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email saying my account was suspended due to suspicious activity and I needed to contact Discover immediately. After contacting them, submitting further information to prove my identity, I spoke to several employees. One of them told me she was having specialists assess what was going on and that they would contact me later that day or early the next morning ( XX/XX/XXXX ). By around XXXX on the XXXX, I had still not received any notification from Discover so I called myself. I spoke to an employee who told me my account had been permanently closed due to a business decision and that they would send a check eventually. Later on that day, I called back to ask some questions, specifically about if there is any way I can find out the exact reason why my account was closed and when I will be receiving my {$2300.00}. The employee speaking with me said that the business decision could be a number of reasons and that the reason why is not disclosed to him. He also told me I need to wait 60-90 days to receive my money. I have received NO correspondence from them about what is going on besides the original email on XX/XX/XXXX. I am not sure what to do, if there is even anything I can do.
