Consumer Complaint: So now not only I had {$1300.00} that was promised to me for 3 weeks ( combined amounts of {$680.00} and {$610.00} from XX/XX/XXXX and XXXX ) that was cancelled out at the last possible minute and only days before XXXX no less, but on XX/XX/XXXX an agent determined I was owed {$1100.00} in credits from returns I had made to merchants, permanent credits, and disputes found in my favor. She put in a request for a balance refund check in that amount and it was CANCELLED. This phone call was monitored and recorded on XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX. I will now be suing Discover for {$2400.00}. A response from the company will not be necessary.

Issue: Closing your account
Subissue: Can't close your account
Consumer Complaint: During a telephone conversation with Discover on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX 1 ) requested to have my credit card account closed and 2 ) requested copies of all statements from XX/XX/XXXX to XX/XX/XXXX in order to determine if any charges were fraudulent. I was told my account was closed as of XX/XX/XXXX. I received the requested statements later in XXXX. I followed up in writing on XX/XX/XXXX confirming both requests. In the XX/XX/XXXX follow up letter, I identified {$890.00} in fraudulent charges that I requested to be reversed. I provided detailed information regarding the dates and amounts of the disputed transactions. I have received no response from Discover and no charges have been reversed. Since the XX/XX/XXXX request to close my credit card account I have had an additional {$200.00} in credit card charges. These consist of four monthly charges of {$17.00} from XXXX and one charge of XXXX from XXXX. On XX/XX/XXXX I had another phone call with Discover. I was told that my account was not closed on XX/XX/XXXX. I was again told that my account would be closed. I hope it was, but am not confident. I was also told that Discover would not reverse the charges described in my XX/XX/XXXX letter nor would they reverse the {$200.00} in charges described above ( charges made since I requested the credit card be closed on XX/XX/XXXX ).

Consumer Complaint: On my credit reports there is a closed account with huge amount of missed payments. DISCOVER BANK Its not mine account. Also there was no written form of communication, contract or signature for this account debt at all. A bill without signature does not validate the debt and anybody can send a bill and say it is mine. According to the FCRA DISCOVER BANK has violated my rights as a consumer and I requesting legal action to remove this account immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I have been fighting with Discover for almost two years concerning an unauthorized credit account opened in my name. I have filed and sent the company and respective credit bureaus copies of police reports, FTC identity theft affidavits, multiple letters, and proof of my identity. The items were initially removed from my credit report, then Discover certified to the credit agencies that they are holding me responsible for this debt. Shortly thereafter, it was added back to my reports. I feel as if I am being revictimized by this company.

Issue: Trouble during payment process
Subissue:
Consumer Complaint: On Wednesday XX/XX/XXXX, at XXXX, a request for Mortgage Payoff was submitted to Discover Home Loans on my behalf. On Tuesday, XX/XX/XXXX I called Discover Home loans due to still not having a payoff for my mortgage. When speaking to the initial representative, I was told that " it takes 5 days and there is nothing we can do ''. When I asked to speak to a supervisor over this, I was transferred and placed on hold for 22 minutes. The next individual informed me that they " did not have a complaint department for HMDA or Fair Lending, and that she was not a supervisor '' I was then placed on hold again. The reason for the delay in payoff was because the loan has a pre-payment penalty. The pre-payment penalty is XXXX dollars, so simple math would be that you take XXXX, add the per diem interest, and the principal balance to get the payoff amount. I was told that this is the process, and there is no way around it, and there is no way to have the payoff done quicker. This delay is costing me additional money in per diem interest, at a substantially higher interest rate ( current rate is 4.99, new rate is 2.875 ). I have still yet to receive the payoff, as they placed me on hold again, and then the call was dropped by Discover.

Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: I contacted Discover Card IT recently when I found out who I believe was a previous roommate who got into my office and opened up a Discover Credit Account under my name and even added my son to the account ( who doesnt live with me to cause confusion ) she also ordered items under my name and so on. Discover card statement zero fraud liability. I have contacted Discover regarding this and spoke with a gentleman regarding this in the Fraudulent Department who also sent me correct information stating that I am not responsible for the account since I never opened it up. They advised me that They closed the account prior to me disputing the account in its entirety because they believe that the account wasnt opened up by me. I received a call regarding the matter from Discover collection states my account is in collections. I am currently being proactive regarding this matter because a reliable coworker had the same problem with Discover and they advised her that she would not be responsible only to find out that another person got there hands on the fraudulent account only to override the previous discussion and corespondents.
