Consumer Complaint: I applied for a credit card company named DISCOVER CARD FOR STUDENTS WITH LITTLE TO NO HISTORY OF CREDIT. application number XXXX spoke to someone named XXXX who was helpful but i was still upset from the lies of the employees as of XX/XX/2021. I spoke to 2 people which one was a manager who were so rude and inaccurately getting my credit report information and DECLINING MY APPLICATION FOR NO REASON BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE NO DEGRATORY MARKS. AS I STATED AND AS ON MY XXXX XXXX ACCOUNT. WHICH SHOWS XXXX $ FOR EVERY STATUS. I HAVE NO CREDIT HISTORY AND FOR THIS COMPANY TO SHOW LACK OF CONCERN FOR CUSTOMERS IS VERY RIDICULOUS. AND STATING THEY DON'T RECONSIDER A PERSON APPLICATION IS VERY DISTURBING BECAUSE THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT OF RECONSIDERING A PERSON APPLICATION NOT DISCRIMINATING AGAINST THEM FOR NO REASON

Consumer Complaint: I lost my credit card when my wallet dropped and spilled it's contents in a very busy public place. I did not realize that my card was missing until I received a billing statement for merchandise that was fraudulently purchased with the missing card. I then reported the card missing and followed up with a confirmation letter. I complied with all the company 's requests except the filing of a police report as I was told by the detective that I was not the victim. They could only take a report from the credit card company or the individual merchants. The company now states that I still owe the money.

Consumer Complaint: Discover Is reporting on my credit report that I owe the money however, they do not own my debt. I have contacted them several times to make payment and they tell me that they do not own my debt any longer and that I will need to pay someone else. This is incorrectly reporting on my credit as I do not owe this company. I have disputed this item with the creditor but they continue to report this incorrectly and damage my credit during this pandemic. I will not do business with Discover in the future under any circumstance and I don't advise that you do either in that they will sell your information and then incorrectly list the debt on your credit report. Run!!

Consumer Complaint: Dear Discover and XXXX ; I was shocked and surprised today again when I reviewed my recent credit report and noticed a discover credit account in " terminated account status '', which I've called both XXXX and other credit reporting agencies along with Discover that I have no knowledge of this old discover account. I've asked for it to be permanently deleted & removed from my credit report, but it still showing up on the XXXX report. However, i spoke with DIscover and they mentioned that they've already ordered all the major credit bureaus to remove it but i need to follow up with them at this point - Which i've done! I do have an active account with Discover right now, but i'm not aware of a credit cart that was opened on XX/XX/2009 with a credit limit of {$7800.00}. Please delete.

Upon reviewing a copy of my credit report, I see an entry listing I owe {$1900.00} on XX/XX/2020. Consumer Complaint: My Discover Credit Card is for emergency purposes. My account was closed for inactivity without any warning. They emailed me to tell me my account was closed, a simple email to say it would be closing for inactivity would have been appropriate. They refuse to reopen my account. During these trying times with Covid, They should not have closed my account because I was never late with a payment and the card was paid off. Closing my account will affect my credit score. Having to reapply will affect my credit score.

Consumer Complaint: Beginning in XXXX, I got involved in a scam on my Discover Card, which had a {$12000.00} credit limit. I didn't know that it was a scam in the beginning. I got 2 or 3 cash advances - all within the limits of the card - over a period of time. I did the cash advances - the person I was helping financially did NOT have access to my card or card number ; however at some point, he was able to hack in to my account or do a card takeover. He made a payment on my account and then before the payment could clear, he recalled it. This happened twice AFTER I got the cash advance. Needless to say, this put my card way over the {$12000.00} limit. I ended up owing {$30000.00} ( +- ) on the card instead of the initial {$10000.00}. When I contacted Discover to say, " hey, I didn't do this and why did you allow this to go over my credit limit! '' they insisted that I had participated in the scam and are holding me responsible for making payments. In XXXX, out of desperation to not further damage my credit, I asked if they could help me. The lady I spoke with was very nice and also didn't understand why I was having to pay for this scam. She set up a hardship program for me where I now pay {$530.00} a month for 5 years on this debt - debt that I did not create and isn't mine to pay. They are continuing to victimize me by holding me responsible. I sent them a Certified letter a few months ago - return receipt requested - and repeatedly called them. They have failed to do anything that is beneficial to me. I even asked them to restore my card back to the credit limit of {$12000.00} and let me pay that even though that's more than I originally owed on it and write off the remainder of the charges to fraud since I didn't create this mess. They have refused repeatedly. This has created a very big hardship on my family. My husband is retired, income is set, and I can not continue to pay this debt for 5 years ... I had to take on a second job to be able to do this and at XXXX years old, I can not do it long term. Its ridiculous that I should have to pay for someone else 's evil doings. I repeat, I DID NOT give anyone my card number ... all I did was try to assist someone who said they needed financial help. Admittedly I was too quick to trust, but I should not be responsible for the evil doings. It appears that this person did a credit card takeover! I would appreciate any help that you could give me.
