Consumer Complaint: I paid {$5000.00} i use Discover credit card to XXXX XXXX on XXXX XXXX as down payment for a new car and on second day we had to go through the contract with a promise they would give me a good deal but i had to pay the down payment to prove that i was serious and if the offer is not good no obligation and i will get my money back. The next day the offer it wasn't good and i didn't like the offer. I asked them to return the down payment to my credit card they said okay but i was not comfortable and worried. On XX/XX/XXXX XXXX i called Discover credit card to dispute the transaction they said i have to give the dealer 10 days to return the money and we can start the dispute on XX/XX/XXXX, if they don't return the money. The dealer didn't return the money credit card company started investigation they found in my favor on XXXX XXXX. On XXXX XXXX discover sent Email to me stated that will continue investigation because the dealer submitted a contract between XXXX XXXX and my son done on XXXX and contract date on XX/XX/XXXXthis deal was finished and my son took the car on same day after he paid {$5000.00} in cash as the contract proven this. I asked Discover credit card it is no relationship between the transaction i disputed happened on XX/XX/XXXX XXXX and transaction it done on XXXX and so far the credit card company reapplied a temporary credit to my account.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, I received a promotional email from Discover Card with the subject " Join XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX this holiday, Get {$45.00} back ''. I read through the email and clicked on the link to activate the promotion. I purchased my XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX membership, using my Discover card and following all instructions in the email and in the terms and conditions, on XX/XX/XXXX. The terms and conditions stated that " Offer fulfilled as a statement credit within three billing cycles after the end of the promotion. '' After waiting three billing cycles as mentioned in the terms, I contacted Discover Customer Support on XX/XX/XXXX to inquire about where my statement credit is. The representative I spoke to informed me that I should indeed have received a statement credit, and that he would escalate the issue, it would be investigated and that I would receive a call back within one week. A month later, on XX/XX/XXXX, I still had not received a call back. I contacted Customer Support again to follow up and was informed that, " the promotion is handled by corporate, and that there was nothing they could do to help me ''. When I asked if I could get contact information for whoever was needed to resolve the issue, I was told there was no public contact information and that there was nothing further they could do. In summary, I activated an offer and purchased a XXXX XXXX XXXXXXXX membership within the allotted time and while following all published terms and conditions but was denied the promised statement credit.

Per FDCPA I am aware that a charge off or collection account is a direct violation due to reporting a balance. The balance must be reported as {$0.00}. Currently I am being violated due to FDCPA because there is an open balance listed on my credit report in the amount of {$5000.00}. I have tried many times to get this verified with no such luck. Please review for deletion.

Consumer Complaint: I was making monthly payments to Discover Student Loans of what I could afford based off of my income alone with other debt owed. My loan was charged off in XXXX despite making $ XXXX month payments and I was notified in XXXX when I went to purchase a car. The pandemic hit and I was unable to make payments on a regular basis but still made attempts with lower amounts. Every time I called to make/arrange a settlement, the amount asked to pay monthly for 5 years was too high XXXX {$900.00} XXXX. I made a 1 % payment in XX/XX/XXXX to prevent my loan from going to collections, because thats what Discover told me I had to do, and was told to not call and make payments less than 1 % therefore after. I still called every month and payments were refused. When I called XX/XX/XXXX to schedule a payment, I was I informed that my loan was placed with collections and that I signed up for this because I was unable to make the {$1200.00} a month payment asked upon graduation in XXXX. When I asked when this would be reported to my credit bureau, I was informed that Discover last reported to the credit bureaus on my debt owed in XX/XX/XXXX. My credit shows no payments made on these loans since XXXX. Highly unprofessional and sets people up for failure.

Consumer Complaint: This frivolous account remains on my credit report despite many written complaints to the three credit bureaus. In my First Dispute, I ask that the account be checked and " confirmed. '' According to the three credit bureaus, this company " confirmed '' that this item is being " reported appropriately. '' As a Second Dispute, I request that the First Request be Reinvestigated, because the bogus account is still on my credit report. Following the Second Dispute, the three credit bureaus indicated that this company " confirmed '' that these things were " reported appropriately. '' As a third point of contention, I asked, " Who validated these accounts? '' How did these accounts become verified? Provided me with copies of ALL original documentation ( s ) on files, such as contracts or legally enforceable agreements ( as proof ), with my signature on it pertaining to the disputed account. This company was unable to supply me with a copy of ANY original documentation for this item that I sought. I DEMAND THAT THIS ITEM BE REMOVED/DELETED IMMEDIATELY FROM MY CREDIT REPORT. I fully intend to file a lawsuit in accordance with the FCRA to enforce my rights, seek relief, and obtain all monetary damages that I may be entitled to as a result of your continuous willful and careless non-compliance under Sections 616 and 617.
