Consumer Complaint: I sent an Accord & Satisfaction notice ( XX/XX/XXXX ) with a settlement offer for a charge off account with Discover Bank from XXXX ( {$1200.00} past due ). It was sent via certified mail & gave Discover Bank ample time opportunity to decline. They did not, I later sent a restrictive endorsement check for {$370.00} ( via certified mail on XX/XX/XXXX ) and reiterating the terms of agreement on the back of the check : " Upon endorsement and deposit of the check the creditor agreed to terms of Accord and Satisfaction : This payment will be to settle the debt in FULL on the account with a final one lump sum payment & will satisfy the account in full. Upon the receipt of this final payment the Discover Bank agrees to delete ALL negative reporting & no derogatory comments with be reported to XXXX, XXXX , & XXXX -The new credit reports to the above account will be Paid As Agreed - No further collections actions will continue on the charge off account '' They accepted the check but did not honor the terms of the agreement. Only the payment was reported to XXXX, XXXX, & XXXX. The rest of the agreement terms were disregarded. I plan to take legal action for defamation of character if this is not resolved.

I figured that it's time to start building my credit so I applied to the Discover it secured credit card on XX/XX/XXXX. When I got the I got the letter in the mail a week later, it stated that I wasn't approved with a credit score of XXXX. I've never had, nor used credit card before, so I was worried. I didn't know who to talk to as far as this issue until my mom and dad told me, which is why I'm filling out this complaint a month later.

This account has been disputed numerous time & I have requested the verification method that was provided to the credit bureaus by the data furnisher to validate the account. Each time the account comes back as " verified '' yet I never received the proof as requested. As such XXXX has repeatedly failed to both validate/verify this account and remove it from my credit profile. Please delete per FCRA consumer rights as this a direct violation of the law. Consumer Complaint: My dispute is in regards to a 30-day late status for my Discover card in XX/XX/2021. I was given incorrect payment information which resulted in the incorrect reporting. I already tried to dispute the issue with both Discover and XXXX but Discover refuses to correct the error. My household income was reduced significantly due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, I was referred to a covid-19 relief department which placed me on a payment relief payment plan. It appears that the main customer service department and the COVID-19 relief department were not on the same page with the payment agreement. I kept receiving calls about my Discover card being late but when I would contact the relief department, I would be informed that my payment was current. I have never been late with Discover and had I known there was an issue, I would have simply paid the amount needed to avoid the 30-day late status. When I spoke to Discover customer service, the reps had no regard for my situation and were not willing to retract the status despite hearing my situation. The relief department also gave me incorrect info in regards to being current. There was significant confusion between the departments and misinformation provided to me.
