Consumer Complaint: Dear Discover, Mutiple times you have told me that you do not have actual verification of the account in question being opened by me. You have been sent an Id theft report from the ftc. You have ignored the theft report, and you continue to commit fraud by verifying the debt with the credit bureaus, despite having told me mutiple times you do not have any signature of mine anywhere. If you can not provide a document with my signature on it, then all you can verify us that someone used my information to open an account. I am a victim of identity theft, I was also part of the data breach. You claim you sent an email to the email address that the account was opened with, and I responded. I did respond, but you sent it to my email address, you told me the account was opened with a different address than the one you sent it to. The difference between the two email accounts is the number " 2 '' is in the one it was opened with according to you, and my email address does not have the number 2 in it, which is where you sent the email I responded to. As far as not returning my calls, once I request a call back you can call me, even if i requested no further calls earlier. Its seems ridiculous that you would suddenly care about laws and rules when it comes to phone calls, though you are misguided, but suddenly not care as you continue to verify a debt without any verification that I opened the account other than someone used my information to open it. If you are unwilling to respond to the cfpb, please extend that courtesy to the credit bureaus as well. Dont respond to the next set of disputes.

Consumer Complaint: XX/XX/2021, I made a reservation for XX/XX/XXXX at the local XXXX XXXXXXXX XXXX - Confirmation number XXXX for {$320.00} with my Discover card. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond my control : ( post XXXX XXXX symptoms/illness and a five day ice storm with power outages city-wide ) I could not keep my reservation. I reached out to Discover XX/XX/2021 to let them know to remove the charges as I was not able to keep the reservation due to the reason ( s ) as listed above. Shortly thereafter, a credit of over {$750.00} appeared on-line on my Discover card with this notice from Discover : We're writing to inform you that XXXX XXXX XXXX issued a credit for the disputed transaction that we also previously credited. This means your account has been credited twice for the same transaction. To correct this, we have reversed our previous credit, which you will see on your next billing statement. What XXXX XXXX had done was refund to Discover was the Reservation and the Hotel stay. Which I found most confusing, at any rate, XXXX XXXX returned two transactions to Discover. And since I do not carry balance ( s ) on my credit cards, I always pay in full each month, I knew everyone was made whole. I did not owe any money to Discover as XXXX had reversed the charges. This is a record of my dispute with both companies. We're writing to inform you that XXXX XXXX XXXX issued a credit for the disputed transaction that we also previously credited. This means your account has been credited twice for the same transaction. To correct this, we have reversed our previous credit, which you will see on your next billing statement. They have failed to even investigate or send me correspondence back indicating they did an investigation and what the out come was. I have no knowledge of these accounts XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ... DISCOVERBANK XXXX ... XXXX XXXX that listed on my credit report. Further more, this account can not be 100 % accurate as there are open dates they have listed on my credit report varies between the 3 bureaus. How can one account be opened on different days? I want there alleged accounts in question to be removed from my credit report immediately.

Consumer Complaint: I received promotion checks in the mail for a balance transfer it clearly states 0 % for 10 months with a 4 % fee so I used a check to pay off another credit card basically a balance transfer. Since I paid it on line with their check they considered it a cash advance check even though I never received any cash if I wouldve mailed it in to the same company it wouldve been considered a balance transfer. I looked over the advertisement they sent me which I still have and nowhere does it say that plus that makes no sense.so now Im being charged for cash I would never take cash from a credit card because of the ridiculous interest plus I have plenty of cash in my bank. I have never complained about a card before but this is not right Im very surprised because its a Discover card one of my favorite credit cards.

Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, we are all facing which has me sitting still at home and I saw the recent news about the multiple XXXX Data breaches. I decided to look at my credit reports from the 3 major credit bureaus and found that someone had used my Identity. I have no idea how the theft took place. I also have no knowledge of any suspects. I did not receive any money, goods, or services as a result of identity theft. I contacted the Credit Bureau and told me to file an Identity Theft Report which I am doing.
