Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Investigation took more than 30 days
Consumer Complaint: Credit report shall present the information material enough to judge the creditworthiness of consumer instead of pursuing the maximum possible accuracy. As FCRA principle stated Reporting agency XXXX which I am complained must correct the report records if credit card business which I complained as well fail to perform the obligation of fair reporting principle. The amount involved negative activities on my credit report are under {$5.00} which due to mistakes made by business, however it causes my credit score dropped by almost 300 point, from XXXX dropped to XXXX. I am complaining that reporting agency XXXX fail to execute its obligation and its not fair demonstration of the creditworthiness on my credit character. secondly, I filed these disputes back to XXXX XXXX however the exact same negative account came back again on this year, and XXXX did not do anything to solve the problem but let me keeping filing dispute and waiting responses after numerous callings. Such misreporting lack of materiality should not be disputed at the first place. However XXXX let it drag down for 3 years and cost consumer damage because of {$5.00}.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account status incorrect
Consumer Complaint: Discover Financial Services LLC incorrectly reported my credit card as being 30+ days late in the month of XX/XX/2021. Their own records reflect that I made 2 payments in XX/XX/2021 ( One of which was the XXXX payment ), a payment on XX/XX/XXXX, and another payment on XX/XX/XXXX. I have repeatedly notified Discover Financial Services LLC who admits the information is incorrect, but repeatedly reports that they will not willingly remove the information from my credit report. They have been given over 60 days to correct the issue but willfully refuse to remove their fraudulent reporting, despite several communications from their agents admitting this was done in error. I have requested multiple times that I be contacted by a manager or supervisor and they again refuse to do so. They are well aware of the problem, but refuse to rectify it. I have attached a copy of a communication from Discover 's agent admitting my account was never late. I have also attached a copy of a screen shot of Discover 's website proving my payments were made frequently and on time.

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: During the Pandemic, I pro-actively reached out to all my creditors because we were mandated closed by the New York State. I communicated with my creditors about payments and what I could do while we were shut down about minimum payments. During this time they kept reassuring me that they understood and would work with me. There were days that I had to wait for XXXX hours on the phone trying to contact each vendor just to reach someone. I paid each creditor in full - all balances, interest, fees. I was told that upon payment that my account would show a positive payment status and history. I even asked them how they were going to report this to my credit bureaus. They all said that the account would show as being Paid in Full. However, this was not accurate or true. Based upon my review of my credit reports- They did not apply any PANDEMIC RELIEF or HELP to any months where I asked. They were recording every month as paid late. OR in one case even though the account was paid in full : The status was charged off. It was not until I asked them after making the payments why this was the case- when they each had indicated that due to the pandemic they would be providing some months of forgiveness and reduce the number of months that showed as late. In addition, my credit reports did not reflect for months afterward, the fact that each and every XXXX was paid to the creditors. I lost Business in the pandemic that I built for 20 years. I clearly know what it means to sacrifice and make changes. Each of my creditors was not cooperative nor were they transparent in how they were going to report my payments, final payoff, or any of the details that are negative on my credit report. If this is not resolved in a reasonable manner, I have hired an attorney and I will be suing each creditor and the credit reporting agencies for damages in STATE and FEDERAL COURT if I did not get a satisfactory resolution to this.

Issue: Trouble using your card
Subissue: Can't use card to make purchases
Consumer Complaint: Making an on-line purchase with Discover card and transaction was declined. Received an e-mail indicating a suspicious transaction with. the amount of {$39.00}, I indicated that it was not what I was attempting to purchase. The account was shut down and I was instructed to call the fraud dept. Called the number and auto answer stated wait time was over 10 minutes. I made several attempts to call Discover for 2 days ( XXXX and XX/XX/10 ) and each time was on hold for over 15 minutes and up to 30 minutes with no answer. In the meantime, I received e-mail messages to call the fraud department each time I attempted to go online and contact Discover. I also recieved an automated call from Discover advising it was the fraud department regarding a suspicious charge and once again, put on hold for over 15 minutes and then their system stated that there was no fraud specialist available and hung up. My payment is due on the XXXX and I was attempting to make a payment, but the account is locked, yet I get a reminder that my payment is due shortly. No one answers the phones on the general number or the fraud department number. This is no way to run a business and time spent was wasted.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX, and I am sending this request myself to address the inaccuracies on my Credit Reports. Despite the several previous written requests, the DISCOVER FIN SVCS LLC account still remains on my credit report in violation of Federal Law. The 3 Credit Bureaus have failed to comply with Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 USC sections 1681i within the time set forth by law and continued reporting of unverified information which now, given all my attempts to address it directly with the creditor, as willful negligence and non-compliance with federal statutes. These statuses are damaging to my report, which would not be happening if the bureaus are investigated properly before posting derogatory information.

Issue: Closing an account
Subissue: Company closed your account
Consumer Complaint: My complaint is against Discover Financial Services. On XX/XX/2021 I opened a checking account with DFS. At the time of opening the account I did a mobile check deposit of {$10000.00}. On the morning of XX/XX/XXXX I tried logging into my account and found that it was locked. I called DFS and got it all cleared up and I once again had access to the account. A few hours later, in the early afternoon on the XX/XX/XXXXt I received a message to contact DFS immediately concerning my account. I called them and they told me that they closed my account. They gave me no explanation as to why but I didn't have a problem with it until the following day. On the following day, XX/XX/XXXX, I received yet another message from DFS stating that my mobile check deposit had posted to my account. I was very surprised as to how they can post funds to a " closed '' account. Once again I call DFS to ask what needed to be done for me to access my funds. They informed me that I would not have access to my funds until they were done with their investigation, which would take anywhere from 60-90 days. This is insane!!! How XXXX XXXX do you close my account. After it's " closed, '' you accept my deposit and place my {$10000.00} into a " closed '' account and then tell me I have no access to my funds for the next 60-90 days. I believe Discover Financial Services is intentionally holding my funds hostage for 60-90 days for their own personal gain/profit. This way they would not have to pay me any interest while they do whatever they want with MY money.
