Issue: Getting a credit card
Subissue: Application denied
Consumer Complaint: Let me begin by stating that I, as the natural person is the original creditor, and credit is my RIGHT granted pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 1602 - Definitions and rules of construction ( e ) The term person means a natural person or an organization ( f ) The term credit means the right granted by a creditor to a debtor to defer payment of debt or to incur debt and defer its payment. ( g ) The term creditor refers only to a person I would like to inform the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau of the violations of this company under the Truth In Lending Act ( TILA ) & the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. I applied for an extension of credit on XX/XX/2021 and engaged in a consumer credit transaction pursuant to 15 USC 1602 ( i ) and was denied extension of my credit by this company. This company has violated 15 USC 1681a ( k ) ( iv ( II ) & 15 USC 1691 ( d ) ( 6 ) - Adverse Action, because the action that this company took was adverse to the interest of myself, the consumer. I have included the law here for reference. 15 U.S. Code 1681a ( k ) Adverse Action. ( iv ) an action taken or determination that is ( II ) adverse to the interests of the consumer. Let me remind this company that pursuant to 15 USC 1602 ( j ) I have an open end consumer credit plan in which I am able to contemplate repeated transactions. There is no limit to the amount of credit I am able to extend myself as the original creditor. I contacted this company on XX/XX/2021 & XX/XX/2021 at XXXX EST and spoke with a representative to inform this company of their violations and to reconsider their determination of my application to prevent further concerns. I was met with harassment and further violations and this company refused to extend credit to me. I would like to further remind this company that they are in violation of 15 USC 1691 ( a ) ( 3 ) as this company has discriminated against me for my attempts to exercise my rights under 15 USC 1691- Equal Credit Opportunity and extend credit back to myself. It is discrimination for a creditor to invoke adverse action for a credit consumer transaction if that transaction was in part due to a consumer report. I have included this law here for reference 15 U.S. Code 1691 ( a ) Activities constituting discrimination ( 3 ) because the applicant has in good faith exercised any right under this chapter. As you can see Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, This company has violated my rights as the natural person and a consumer. This company is held liable under 15 USC 1691c ( 1 ) ( A ) ( B ) and they are held liable for their discrimantion and violations under the Federal Deposit Insurance Act, in addition to 15 USC 1691c ( c ) they are held liable under the Federal Trade Commission Act. Before I continue to file for monetary damages because I, the consumer, have been mistreated by this company and they are held civilly liable under 15 USC 1691e ; I would like to hear their response in hopes that they reconsider their position. I have also included the letter that they sent me after my application was denied of thier violations for reference for this company Sincerely XXXX XXXX

Consumer Complaint: I filed a dispute on a charge through Discover. Case Number : XXXX, Merchant name : XXXX XXXX, Dispute amount {$20.00}. The dispute was for a purchase from adobe. I filed a dispute and it wasn't until today XX/XX/XXXX, that I received a letter. It stated that XXXX gave them an invoice and so that was good enough for the charge to reappear. The letter stated that I had 15 days from the time I got the letter to provide further documentation. Upon chatting with a discover agent, I found out that meant nothing and the dispute was closed out on XX/XX/XXXX and that I was not allowed to provide further documentation and there was nothing I can do. Obviously the letter from Discover was a blatant lie and has to be illegal. XXXX invoice was for invoice # XXXX, date XX/XX/2021, order # XXXX. I went to my XXXX account and looked at all invoices attached to my account. Please see the attached documents. The invoice questioned doesn't exist. I also went to all downloaded adobe products and the product in question doesn't exist. I also went through my emails and other than a discover transaction, XXXX confirmation from XXXX that the charge occurred. I went on my laptop and desktop, also no photoshop as described. I checked my XXXX as well as my ipod and no purchases exist. I don't have the product in question, I did not make that purchase, and the fact that Discover was fine with a fraudulent invoice and shutting me out, is shameful. I asked to speak to corporate but was told I was not able to communicate with them on the matter.

Consumer Complaint: Requested a dispute for an invalid transaction on XX/XX/2021 for XXXX by XXXX XXXX. This was for a free trial that was unable to be cancelled online or via phone prior to being charged. Dispute was completed on XX/XX/2021, taking over 100 days to complete. After calling Discover, they claimed that information as entered incorrectly during the process, which caused a longer delay. Ultimately, the transaction was found in favor of the merchant, even with additional documentation showing proof a refund was to be given. Discover will not reopen the case with this new information or provide restitution for the error.

Consumer Complaint: On Thursday, XXXX XXXX, I brought may car to a mechanic to replace a rear passenger side seat belt. The mechanic quoted me between $ XXXX {$250.00} for parts and labor. I was notified the repair was done and texted an invoice for {$460.00}. I went to the mechanic and told them that's not what I was quoted and they told me I had to pay of they would not release the keys. I paid and the part doesn't even work. I went to another mechanic and supplied written proof the installed part doesn't work to Discover. I disputed with my Discover card and they investigated and sided with the merchant. Since then, I have escalated my dispute with Discover and all of the sudden, they decreased my credit limit. Ive been in good stating and my credit is good with Discover for many years. This event has impacted my credit score negatively.
