Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: My name is XXXX XXXX, and I am submitting this complaint myself to address the inaccuracies on my Credit Reports. The DISCOVERBANK account is reporting late as reported in my 3 Credit Bureaus. Lets correct this now. The 3 Credit Bureaus are required to verify for themselves, but they failed to neither verify nor update me about these complaints. You are attempting to violate this clear understanding. Investigate and update the current status to reflect accurately.

Consumer Complaint: Today, onXX/XX/XXXX, I checked XXXX XXXX and found that a new Discover account had been opened in my name. I did not open this account. A few weeks ago, we received a credit card in the mail that we believe was opened by my father, who has the same first and last name as I do. I suspect he has used my information to open a credit card as my credit is fair. I never opened this account and would like for someone to investigate.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX I personally received an email for the Executive Office of Discover. As I stated the Consumer Protective Agency is involved and your company must follow the protocols. This debt was charged off and closed. This company wants to go around the federal government to engage in harassment or abuse. They don't want their communications seen by the Federal Government. I do not want any contact with this company. My last payment to the account was in XXXX. They put three payments on in XXXX illegally in order to ruin my credit and to restart the debt clock. All of my payments were made by United States Postal Money Order. They can produce the payments " they claimed '' was made to the CFPB by scanned document. I only paid with United States Postal Money Order. IF they can't produce this I am requesting the account be removed from my credit. The account has reached 6 years 4 months. Early Exclusion rule applies. This company has reported different dates to each creditor as to when the account was opened and when the last payment was made. XXXX XXXX stated Discover told them the account stays on until XXXX. The account is supposed to come of in XXXX. Early XXXX. Last payment XXXX of XXXX. It has been 6 years and 4 months.

Consumer Complaint: I have opened a case with the CFPB with Discover as relates to my account and my wifes and both my wife and I have received corespondents from there executive resolution department. Which is listed below, I have emailed, called and received no response on the pre existing CFPB case opened or email and voice corespondents. I have disputed with all three agencies with XXXX simply applying a comment costumer disagreed and XXXX moving my single reported late payment from XX/XX/2021 to XX/XX/2021. Which is totally inaccurate. Below is the.email both my wife and received from Discover on our accounts. I have also attached the payment snapshot showing that there was no late payment in XXXX or XX/XX/2021. This is has been a very hard year for me and my wife due to Covid and we truly love being part of the Discover family but all that is being asked from even the first CFPB cases opened for both me and wifes accounts was that the single late payment being reported be removed from all three agencies. We are both very much aware of are financial responsibility and take it very seriously, which is why we are working very hard to pay our debt off completely starting with my wifes account next week. You can see the schedule payment in your system. Consumer Complaint: When I signed up for a secured card with Discover they offered a return of deposit via check or ACH. Over the last year I have checked online and with several reps that they payment would be returned via ACH and they have all confirmed that. Tonight I was told that check in the mail is the only way. I dont know how they can give the option of direct deposit, collect my banking information to make that deposit and then not fulfill that. This company is lying to consumers about credit cards and how we can get our money back and collecting sensitive information.

Issue: Incorrect information on your report
Subissue: Account information incorrect
Consumer Complaint: In XXXX of XXXX, I was approved for a Discover Card. The bill was maintained until XXXX of XXXX. Discover has reported to all 3 credit agencies that a payment was made in XXXX of XXXX in a effort to restart the debt clock which is illegal. I have disputed this with all 3 credit agencies multiple times. Each time Discover has maintained there was a payment made in XX/XX/XXXX yet can't provide the information. So they can't produce the payments for XXXX, XXXX, or XXXX so they reset the debt clock. Each credit agency has requested Discover show proof of a payment being made however they have no proof. According to the Consumer Credit Act falsifying or placing inaccurate information on credit reports is illegal and the company can be held responsible. The account is 7 years old. The account was open 7 years ago. To keep the account on my credit record they are reporting wrong dates, wrong year of payments, and giving inaccurate information. I am formally requesting for Discover to produce the final payment made on the account. If it's a scan document or scanned bill with the last payment I am asking for it. In addition besides my contacting all 3 credit agencies, I wrote a letter asking them to produce the last payment made. Discover ignored the letter and proceeded to add more derogatory information. If the account is closed and charged off at this point the statute of limitations has passed. For them to illegally state a payment was made when it wasn't is illegal. If they can't produce any payments being made in XXXX to the Consumer Protective Agency I want the inaccurate information removed and the credit report corrected. For the record, I made NO payments in XXXX to this account. I need Discover to produce the payment. If the payment was made it should be no problem.
