Consumer Complaint: A Discover agent contacted me in late XXXX to request that I make a payment. After discussing the amount due I agreed to her offer of setting up installment payments only because she assured me that my account wouldn't be reported to the credit bureau because of the installments being set up. Apparently she was incorrect because after 2 of the installments had been made I later received an alert from XXXX of a 30 day late payment from Discover. I've disputed with the credit bureau and requested that the recorded call be listened to but that was not done. My dispute was closed and all that was done is Discover sent the status of the account as of the date they responded to the dispute. If I had been given accurate information I would have made a payment for the full amount due in order to bring the account current. Next issue : For years I've had my wife assisting in communicating with Discover but I had to add her as an authorized user on XX/XX/XXXX because the rep said she had to be added in order for them to speak with her. So I added her but discover did not disclose that they'd report on her credit report information from 30 days prior to adding her which puts that 30 day late payment on her account. There's no way that is fair to a consumer. That should be disclosed when you are in the process of adding an authorized user. How is it fair to a consumer to add credit activity to their credit report when they didn't have access to that credit during the period of activity or during that billing cycle. As I am typing this dispute Discover has said 5o my wife that they are going to review the call and they think that they know what happened but they will be able to confirm and get back to me in XXXX business hours.

Consumer Complaint: I have had this Discover Credit Card for over 10 years. I had a merchant that I did not recognize charging my card. I contacted Discover to resolve. Their " XXXX XXXX '' suggested that they replace the card. They reassured me that nothing would change to my account. That the limits, closing dates, interest rates ALL would remain the same on a recorded call. Even the design on the card I asked if would remain the same and they said yes! Well, on XX/XX/XXXX I received an alert on my credit reporting that my score had dropped XXXX points! I checked the report and Discover reported my credit bureau in the middle of the cycle! My statement closing date and reporting date has always been the XXXX of the month. This still is reflected on my statements despite the new card number! Not once was I disclosed that the balances were going to be reported at the replacement card time not once! Had the rep explained this to me then I would have had the opportunity to either pay down the card or wait on the fraud report or just eat the {$120.00} the charges added up to rather than ruin my credit! I am in the middle of buying a house!!!! I was promised a call back from a " Fraud Dept '' manager in 2 business days. Today is the 4th business day and no one has contacted me. I called again and after being on hold for more than an hour with a customer service manager trying to reach a Fraud manager I get dumped for the 2nd time with a Tier 1 rep that continues to state that she doesn't know anything about how to correct and " messages '' through their intranet to a manager that says they are too busy to answer my call and too busy to call me back. I can not believe this horrific experience.

Consumer Complaint: I would like to dispute the transaction with XXXX, in the amount of {$1900.00}. The reason is that the item was returned but no refund been issued. I have contacted the XXXX to open a claim for package lost and the merchant has approved it on XX/XX/2021 - see documents as attached. However, the credit card company ( Discover ) has never issued the refund and denied the dispute case without providing any valid evidence- they simply mentioned the transaction was found to be valid but did not follow-up on the issues was claiming for. As a valued customer, I have to report this case to CFPB to protect myself as a victim to this transaction. Obviously, the XXXX was responsible to pay for the package lost but not the customer, and as the merchant has already approved the claim, the credit company has to provide the refund without any delay. On the contrary, Discover provided the fake evidence showing the charge was valid but not that did not solve the problem. I would appreciate if CFPB could step in and investigate the case on my behalf.

Consumer Complaint: My Discover Credit Card account # XXXX is reporting delinquent with two late payments that was past due 30 days two times however I have made all my payments on time and the account is in current good standing. The account is not delinquent and has been opened since XX/XX/XXXX. For XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX it is reporting these months the 30 days late but I have made those payments on time and Discover never sent me payment reminders or bill statuses throughout my whole term with this bank. I am requesting the removal of this false reporting information to all payments on time as they were and should be because I am going for a mortgage loan and with this delinquent status it is severely hurting my credit score where I can not go for a home loan. I need this fixed Discover or I will close my account with you guys. I am extremely hurt I had this account for 4 years and they DARE put me in this situation.

Consumer Complaint: I purchased a watch using my Discover card through XXXX. The watch arrived broken. I disputed through Discover. The merchant ( XXXX watch ) and I came to agreement to resolve the issue after which I closed the dispute with Discover. XXXX never received notice that the dispute had been closed. XXXX officially closed the case on their end, siding with me, not paying the merchant, because they never received notice from Discover that I had closed it and it should go in the merchant 's favor ( them getting paid ). Discover went ahead and charged me again for the full amount on XX/XX/21. To recap : I dont have the money, XXXX XXXX have the money, the merchant doesnt have the money. Discover has the money and they refuse to accept an email from XXXX saying XXXX doesnt have the money and never got information saying the dispute had been settled in the merchants favor as proof. Discover is sitting on my money claiming they dont have it and they wont do anything about it. They wont let me open a new dispute because they say it cant be done twice on the same transaction.

Consumer Complaint: My Discover Student Loan Account # XXXX is reporting as delinquent for missed payments for XXXX, XXXX and XXXX for 30 days late, 60 days late, and 90 days late respectively. However, I didn't even finish school yet and I don't pay on the loan until I graduate the loans are deferred until I graduate from school and I haven't even graduated yet. I graduate in two semesters so this doesn't even make any sense to me. Discover Student Loan is severely hurting my credit score and report where I can not even get an apartment with my credit score to rent a place near my school that they gave me the LOAN for. This is extremely frustrating and Discover is ignoring all my emails and responses when I reached out to them. This is inaccurate, and unfair I need this fixed!

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/XXXX, Discover Card authorized a balance transfer payment from my credit card account to my Checking account with XXXX card. As of XX/XX/XXXX, the funds hadn't arrived at my XXXX account. I messaged them ( their main customer service number is selling products to people and hanging up if you don't buy ) many times and explained that this situation was artificially negatively impacting my XXXX XXXX. They asked me to submit a form stating both the routing number and the account number of my XXXX account. I did, then waited. Nothing happened. I have since then been trying o reach them in every way I can, and besides dropping chat conversations, and selling products to customers calling about pressing card issues and then hanging up on them, I have had no answers, no recourse, no one to even talk to. They say it will take them 30 days to investigate this dispute. It is a simple matter of adding my routing number to my balance transfer request and processing the payment. I have already been charged for ( my Discover account is now {$11000.00} higher ) which has ground my XXXX XXXX down to poor from good. But they will not help me, or even get me a real person to talk to me. I will be unable to process my home refinance due to a damaged XXXX XXXX while rates are still reasonable because of Discover card 's negligence and mistreatment of customers like me.

Issue: Written notification about debt
Subissue: Didn't receive enough information to verify debt
Consumer Complaint: This is now the eighth time I am reaching out about this same issue. There is a remaining balance on the credit card that DISCOVER closed because I had filed a dispute for identity theft against them. Remove and delete the remaining balance. There was no reason to close the card as I had exceptional and on time payments on the card for two years. As a result, I got cut off from credit that I had been using to make several everyday payments that I was no longer able to make because my credit card was closed. Because every extension of credit originates from my social security, also known as my open end credit plan, I am the original creditor of every extension of credit and debt obligation. Therefore, I am deferring the debt back to DISCOVER who is misrepresenting me, the original creditor. DISCOVER claiming that they are the original creditor is abusive, deceptive, and misrepresents me as a natural person and the original creditor who is giving DISCOVER life as a corporation. Pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 1692, " means other than misrepresentation or other abusive debt collection practices are available for the effective collection of debts. '' Pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 1692a, " The term 'debt ' means any obligation or alleged obligation of a consumer to pay money arising out of a transaction in which the money, property, insurance, or services which are the subject of the transaction are primarily for personal, family, or household purposes, whether or not such obligation has been reduced to judgment. '' Notice, debt is an " alleged '' obligation. To " allege '' means to claim as true with or without proof. Pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 1692a, " The term 'consumer ' means any natural person obligated or allegedly obligated to pay. '' Again, as my social security is where all credit extensions and debt obligations originate, I am the original creditor. I am now deferring the debt back to DISCOVER. Pursuant to 15 U.S. Code 1692k, " Except as otherwise provided by this section, any debt collector who fails to comply with any provision of this subchapter with respect to any person is liable to such person in an amount equal to the sum of ( 1 ) any actual damage sustained by such person as a result of such failure ; '' As DISCOVER has violated me, deceived, and abused me as a consumer, original creditor, and natural person, they are liable to compensate me for the violations made. Congress protects me under these laws as a natural person against corporations who abuse consumers like DISCOVER. Please remove the remaining balance from my account, report positively to consumer reporting agencies about the deleted debt, and compensate me in an amount equal to the sum of damages done to me.
