Subissue: Debt was result of identity theft
Consumer Complaint: Hi I am coming to you to talk about an account listed under my name and social that I noticed is not mine. I have sent several letters to the company and credit reporting agencies. There seems to be a confusion on the accounts being association to me and I do not take responsibility for something that is not mine. I have contacted via certified mail DISCOVERBANK, XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX 5 different times. It is my understanding that per 15 USC 1692 ( g ) Validation of Debts that only way an account can be validated is by speaking with me not a 3rd party company.

Consumer Complaint: Discover Financial Services is alleging that I owe them a debt that is not mine. I sent them a request to validate the debt as required by law. They received it on XX/XX/XXXX. They responded to me that they would investigate, however, never responded with the requirements in order to validate the debt like I asked them to do. I then sent them an Affidavit of Truth which they received on XX/XX/XXXX along with an invoice with the total charges of my violations from them and I have heard nothing from them since. I am well within my rights as a federally protected consumer and Discover is violating my consumer rights under Title 15 Chapter 41

Issue: Problem when making payments
Subissue: Problem during payment process
Consumer Complaint: Discover continuously performs adverse actions against me the consumer. They have denied me access to my own credit and forced me to make a deposit for a secured card I did not want. They are also tarnishing my reputation by reporting negative activity to the credit bureaus when I have made numerous attempts to pay. Discover has also created multiple accounts through my consumer credit and will not allow me to access those accounts. When I submitted my remittance coupon payment online, my payment was accepted. Discover then reversed the payment after many days. I then tried another account opened through my consumer credit which was sent to me. That payment was accepted too then days later XXXX XXXX reversed the charges and applied my security deposit of {$300.00} to my bill which I did not instruct them to do. I am submitting a billing error 12 CFR 1026.13 and an adverse action claim against XXXX XXXX for their malpractices and many violations of the Truth In Lending Act ( TILA ). As I was not made aware of the many accounts opened through my consumer credit nor was the legalese explained to me as the consumer about the remittance coupon payment or the original security contract deposited for bailment purposes.

Consumer Complaint: Hi DISCOVER FINANCIAL SERVICES ; Im confused stressed and shocked when I reviewed my credit report this week and I found multiple inaccuracies on my credit report from the 3 major credit bureaus from a collection company that I never have dealt with before. I've attempted several times to ratify the issue with the original creditors and credit bureaus and they still reporting inaccurate, unverifiable information. I have disputed this item with the credit reporting agency and they reported you confirmed the account as valid. I honestly do not believe to ever have any relationship with this collection agency or original creditor. Also there are several inaccuracies with this account the way it's reporting and that's a total violation of FCRA and FDCPA laws and regulations. In a good faith effort to resolve the matter amicably, I must demand proof of this debt, specifically the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature, as well as proof of your authority in this matter. Absent such proof, you must correct any erroneous reports of this past debt as mine. I am writing to request that you please provide the following information : 1. Please evidence your authorization under 15 USC 1692 ( e ) and 15 USC 1692 ( f ) in this alleged matter. 2. What is your authorization of law for your collection of information? 3. What is your authorization of law for your collection of this alleged debt? 4. Please evidence your authorization to do business or operate in this state. 5. Please evidence proof of the alleged debt, including the alleged contract or other instrument bearing my signature. 6. Please provide a complete account history, including any charges added for collection activity. You have 30 days upon receipt of this letter to provide strict proof of contract. In the event you can not provide strict proof of contract, you must cease and desist any and all collection efforts and immediately remove any derogatory information reported to the consumer reporting agencies. In addition, you will need to provide me your agreement, in writing, that you are closing your file, ceasing collecting activity, and deleting all information related to this reference number from any and all credit reports youve furnished the information to. In the event you transfer this account to an attorney without providing proof of contract, and proving your claim, he/she will be immediate reported to the XXXX XXXX XXXX and XXXX XXXX XXXX for code of ethics violations.

Consumer Complaint: I'm not swayed that Bureaus efficiently pleased the principles of the Fair Credit Reporting Act in completing their investigation. The Bureaus are reporting inaccurate information on DISCOVERBANK. Per FCRA, reporting must be 100 % accurate or the information must be deleted.
