Consumer Complaint: I opened a new account with Discover since they had a decent interest rate and sign on bonus. I made a transfer ( ACH ) from my existing credit union account ( XXXX ) for XXXX and discover received it - several days later I transferred XXXX out to put into another savings account. Ever since the account has been locked I canno ADD nor REMOVE any money from the account. I did receive a notice to contact their fraud department which has proven useless. I have called 22 times now and been on hold for up to 3 hours on several occasions. I just want my XXXX ( and interest/bonus ) back at this point. I will close this account and my CC account with them as soon as I can get this money returned to me. Very scary not being able to access money - GLAD it is not an an emergency need right not I am out XXXX dollars. I found online that this apparently is a common occurrence right now- they are doing it to multiple people AND no one answers their phone line.

Issue: Problem with a credit reporting company's investigation into an existing problem
Subissue: Their investigation did not fix an error on your report
Consumer Complaint: I have made numerous complaints about this Discover charge-off account with no real assistance from Discover other than some mailed statements. Discover has charged off this account XXXX years ago, which means a 1099c was submitted. However, I have yet to receive a copy of the 1099c for the charge-off which is fraud. XXXX, XXXX, and XXXX are all reporting charge-off accounts on my credit report on top of all reporting different information which means it is also inaccurate and misleading and an additional reason why this needs to be removed from the credit report. The IRS defines a charge-off or a 1099c as gross or ordinary income. Income does not get reported on the consumer report. By reporting this as a charge off on my consumer report, it now becomes an inaccurate account which is now under 15 U.S.C 1681e ( b ) which speaks on maximum accuracy of the consumer report. This inaccurate accounting must be deleted from my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: Signed up on payment program due to Covid. I gave them my checking account info. They were able to process the first payment but could not process other payments. XXXX XXXX confirmed with a supervisor from Discover that the information given was correct. Also with the type of payment processed the account was valid and they way they processed the payments were correct. Discover is stating that the error was not on their end even after talking to my bank. They are refusing to take late payments off my credit report.

Consumer Complaint: Someone has used my personal information to open a Discover credit card in XXXX. I became aware from an email that i received recently from Discover telling me i am getting a XXXX XXXX card. I new i had not applied for that card. Then i found out from Discover a credit card was opened too. It pays to check your credit report here and there. You learn the hard way. To their credit they closed these accounts immediately. I have filed fraud and security alerts with all the credit bureaus.

Consumer Complaint: On XX/XX/2022 around XXXX I received an email saying my savings account was frozen. I called them almost immediately and resolved this issue. A few hours later, approximately XXXX, I received another email this time saying my savings account was suspended. I reached out again to banking representatives and they said they can not help me with the matter let alone tell me why. They gave me a different number for the fraud department but the issue is the wait time is 3 hours, and once you sit on the phone for 3 hours it automatically drops. Im disappointed that not only can I not get ahold of the fraud department, but I can not access my account and my funds are being held because they are frozen.

Consumer Complaint: Discover credit card was closed in XXXXXXXX XXXX XXXX. Balance was transferred to a XXXX XXXX account prior to closing, and balance showed XXXX. Discover card account was closed over the phone, and I was ensured the balance was transferred and I was closing the account. Discover sent a printed statement showing XXXX balance after closure. I was then charged a residual interest amount of {$13.00} after closing my account unbeknownst to me. This amount then became past due, resulting in a delinquency and loss of credit score. I never received a phone call about my issue, so the problem went undetected by me. This is a nefarious and predatory practice by Discover Card and should not be affecting my credit score like it has. Completely unacceptable behavior by Discover.
