Consumer Complaint: In XX/XX/XXXX, I requested a lower rate on my Discover Card. My balance at the time was XXXX. Discover informed me they would only adjust the interest rate on purchases AFTER XX/XX/XXXX. From that point forward I have been subject to two interest rates purchases prior to XX/XX/XXXX at 29.99 % and Post XX/XX/XXXX at 24.99 %. I have made payments well in excess of the minimum payment however the balance subject to 29.99 % is now as of XX/XX/XXXX at XXXX. Per the Credit Act of XXXX, payments over the minimum should be applied to the principal of balances subjected to the higher interest rates. I have contacted Discover numerous times about this misapplication of payments with no resolve and was told " they have no way to ensure payment application ''.

Consumer Complaint: on XX/XX/XXXX, I received an email from Discover Bank that was state that their system detected unusual activity on my accounts. For security purposes, they suspended access to both of my saving and checking accounts. The email also provided me to call, XXXX or XXXX. When I immediately called XXXX, it took me to a automatic message that telling me that the bank officially decided to permanently close all of my accounts and no further explanations will be provided due of their " business decision ''. I tried XXXX and it took me nearly 3 hours to reach " bank specialist '' and yet they couldn't explain to me why my accounts were frozen and furthermore state that it will take 60 days from my last deposit to receive my {$7000.00}. I've been calling them weekly to keep up with my accounts status. However, each time I call them, I would get different answers. When I called them back on XX/XX/XXXX, the person on the phone told me it would most likely take longer than 60 days to get my money back. And she wasn't sure that when will my accounts will be officially close. This doesn't make any sense to me. because when I called them on XX/XX/XXXX, the specialist ( a different person ) told me that my accounts are closed and will get my funds back around in beginning XXXX. I have never had these kind of issues with my local bank. The fact that Discover bank couldn't provide me any explanation regrading closure with my accounts sounds very fraudulent. And I am afraid that I would not get my money back. All of my emergency funds were in there and I am behind with my bills. I believe that Discover bank is dishonest and operating on bad faiths.
