Consumer Complaint: I have been trying to fix my credit. Back in 2021 I allowed my ex to use my credit credit where she maxed it out and never told me. I contacted Discovery about the matter I was informed my account was closed. I was offered a settlement of three months paying {$90.00} for two months which I went through and paid the settlement. I checked my report again to find out for a second time the balance had increased and the account kept collecting. I contacted Discovery once again and did ANOTHER settlement for additional three months and they said it was settled. This I checked my credit again for the third time seeing the same result not only that, they overdrafted my Bank account over {$600.00} and put me more and debt and theres no resolution and it is destroying my credit and any chance to build a future with my family.

Consumer Complaint: I got scammed by a seller on XXXX for XXXX. Discover Card gave me credit but then sided with the seller because all sales are final. The credit was revoked and I called Discover to explain further my point that I was scammed & that the seller suspended my account ( which should be suspicious on its own ), so I cant even reach out to them ... the item is defective, faulty and not as advertised ; a scam. Discover agent proceeded to tell me I had to get documentation that the company that scammed me would issue me a refund & then hung up on me. I got scammed and Discover Card will not cover me or even offer me decent customer service. Why would the company that scammed me and suspended the account I used to buy the item offer a refund for me? Why would I even need to reach out to Discover if the seller agreed to refund in the first place?

Consumer Complaint: XXXX XXXX XXXX I received a letter from Discover Home Loans with an offer to take advantage of the equity I had in my house and I called and got pre-approved after the review of my credit score and job information I provided. ( we also clearly discussed what percentage to apply for to meet my income affordability ) XX/XX/ I was told they had all my information and that the application was going to be reviewed by underwriting pending any additional information needed. XX/XX/ I received an email saying that they would be unable to move forward because I didn't send all my paperwork on time and I would have to apply all over again if I wanted to move forward. XXXX XXXX XXXX I called Discover Home Loans and was able to prove that all my paperwork was sent to them via the emails that were sent between me and the agent who assisted me. I was then told the application would be reviewed again and it would be forwarded to underwriting for review. XX/XX/ I received a letter dated XXXX XXXX XXXX saying that my application was denied due to a " statement of credit denial '' XXXX XXXX XXXX I called to check on the status of the application and I was told the application was denied due to applying for too much credit and I claimed no income on one of my job titles ( I claimed no income because there were repairs that needed to be done and it cost me more than I made that year ) the 3rd time I received a different reason for denial and I requested to talk to a supervisor. XX/XX/2023 I received an email asking me for the best time to get a hold of me on that following Monday. XX/XX/2023 I called and asked to speak to someone regarding this and was told a new supervisor would call me because the other one was out. XX/XX/2023 I received another email saying that they would call me back and I never received a phone call. XX/XX/2023 I called again and was told someone would call me today and there was once again no phone call and I started this complaint.

Consumer Complaint: I was approved for a discover student cash back rewards card with an {$500.00} limit after applying and providing my student email address. I only used the card to make a few purchases and all of a sudden the card was shut off. I received an email stating discover wanted to use XXXX verification services to access my prior years tax return statements. Due to the fact that I was ( you can verify this through XXXX data breach settlement website and click has my information been affected ) a victim of XXXX data breach, my personal information was compromised alongside the other XXXX XXXX plus victims. Because of this I called Discover and spoke with a fraud specialist who told me I had to do it. He treated me like I had done something wrong when I was the victim! He told me that they needed me to let them see my tax returns to verify my identity but offered me no other way of verifying my identity such as the tradition ways most other banks use ( drivers license, birth certificate, bank statements, etc ). Because I was a victim of the data breach, I was afraid of XXXX and to even allow access due to my compromised personal information. When I told the fraud department no, they immediately closed my account and sent my final bill. So the hard inquiry, to the account only being open a week, I never got to use any of the benefits that I signed up for the card for to begin with. Its a shame I was treated in such a manner. Discover needs to reevaluate there decision and should not require data breach victims to expect to allow them access to there tax info via the same company that there personal information was stolen from.
