Issue: Problem with a purchase shown on your statement
Subissue: Credit card company isn't resolving a dispute about a purchase on your statement
Consumer Complaint: Back in 2020 I signed a purchase agreement for new appliances, and services to have all these appliances set up in my home. However they said a week after I signed an agreement that the appliances would not be connected because of covid. So I was not ok with that ; as I signed an agreement to have all services installed and working in my home. So I cancelled all appliances and services with XXXX XXXX, and they totally agree with this, and I do have a voice recording of this. However ; discover will not remove the charges, and they are harassing 's me ; and they keep on adding more charges to my account, I am so tired of these games Discover is playing, and want this issue resolved. I closed my account with discover back in 2020, and cut up my card, decided that I am done with discover as well as XXXX XXXX. I want this taken care of so I can move on.

Consumer Complaint: I called Discover Credit Services once I was notified of a hard pull on my credit. I didn't request this card and it was a case of fraud. I was told that the card was not issued on that date ( XXXX ), that the credit card was not approved, that the account was closed, and that they'd do an investigation. On XX/XX/22 I was notified by Discover Credit Services, that the card was shipped out and asking if I have any questions on my new account. This is after I did a security freeze with all of the credit score companies and this was indeed the SAME account that I was previously told was closed and that no card would be issued to. I told that team I want the card closed immediately and the account closed plus a statement saying as much. The blatant lies and the likelihood of the card going out in spite of my best earlier efforts and what the company told me is disheartening to say the least. I don't know if it is illegal, but I have to say that it should be and is definitely unethical.

Consumer Complaint: I received an email advertisement from Discover offering a credit card application which would not affect my credit score. I applied and initially received an approval response, however before the card even arrived they changed their decision and closed the account. I believe this to be dishonest. Now I have an inquiry and a new account on my credit report which negatively affects my credit score. I wrote a letter to Discover asking them to remove the inquiry and the account from my credit report as they acted in bad faith. I have also disputed the account and the inquiry with the XXXX, XXXX and XXXX. So far only XXXX has responded advising that they will not remove the account. This is horribly wrong and I am reaching out to ask for assistance and to ask that companies not be allowed to do this to others.
